A.N.: Okay so I just watched "Silent Night" and pretty much fell in love with the confrontation scene. My bro asked me "Why do you keep rewinding?" and I was like "Cuz he's my baby!" Basically, this is Gibbs during and right after that moment of, as my friends say, amazeballs dipped in awesome sauce. So, anyways, please review! I know it's not my best, but it's not the worst... so, review?

"That's a taser, Harvey," DiNozzo said condescendingly.

"You have only one shot; non-fatal," Ziva added. The man did not, as expected, lower his weapon, but turned to McGee and tasered him.

Harvey began running, and it was all Gibbs could do not to shoot him. Okay, maybe he was overreacting just a bit, but the bastard had shot McGee! True, it was with a taser and not a gun, but his agent was still in pain and Harvey was still going to the one to pay for it. He tackled and handcuffed him before heading back towards the rest of the group, leaving Ziva to deal with the criminal.

"Just breathe through it," he heard Tony instruct McGee, who was still on the ground, writhing in pain. He knelt down.

"You alright?" he asked. McGee opened his eyes.

"Never better, Boss," his agent said. He smiled as he helped the younger of his two "sons" off the ground. Ziva walked towards the car, using far more force than actually necessary. Harvey glared at all of them, but said nothing.

"There's one good thing that'll come from this, McStatic," Tony said.

"What's that, Tony?" McGee asked the senior field agent.

"Well for one thing, Abby's gonna be all over you tonight." Tim smiled a little and moved towards the car.

Gibbs smiled. This was his family. Tony was the ridiculous big brother who had his little siblings backs. Ziva was the older sister, determined that she could play with the big boys. Tim was the quiet, shy younger brother who was incredibly loyal to the others and would defend them at all cost. And Abby was the youngest; quirky and exuberant and full of life.

They were his family now. It was his job to take care of them. Luckily, they managed to get through everything with mainly just cuts and bruises.

He would never admit to the moment of sheer terror he'd felt when McGee had gone down. He knew it wasn't fatal, that in a few minutes he'd be good as new. Yet he still felt a surge of protectiveness.

McGee staggered momentarily. Gibbs immediately reached out a hand and steadied him.

"You get vertigo, Tim?" he asked.

"No. Never."

"Same here," Tony agreed, "That movie made no damn sense."

They all laughed. Everything was okay. They were okay.
