Silver eyes that were the size of dinner plates focused on the woman standing before him. Had he heard her right? Did she seriously just ask him to become a General? When asked to repeat herself Daniella said the exact same thing. Allen looked down at his lap, eyes wide.
"I know that it is totally sudden but we really need you, Allen. Will you accept?" Daniella asked again after a few moments.
"Umm... I just need a moment to think about it." Allen replied, voice shaky.
The red headed Indian nodded and stepped back a bit. Again Allen looked down at his mis-matched hands, a million thoughts running through his head. Quickly his brain supplied a list of pros and cons. On the upside he could protect more people but on the down side there was more responsibility and he was unsure if he would ever get back to his friends. Even so, his overwhelming desire to protect caused him to make his choice. Looking up he caught Daniella's eye. The red head walked over and gave him a questioning look.
"I'll accept your proposition. I will become the fifth General." was all he said.
The woman smiled, light blue eyes crinkling slightly on the corners. As Allen watched the rest of the Generals relaxed slightly. Apparently his accepting the position mention more than he had originally thought. Smiling slightly Allen leaned back into the pillows behind him a bit more. The atmosphere in the room had changed from charged and tense to calm and relaxed as the others seemed to let off a load of steam. A soft hand on his shoulder, however, pulled the teen back from watching the others. Turning Allen came face to face with Matron. She had a soft smile on her face but there was a slightly worried look in her eyes.
"Is something wrong, Matron?" the silverette asked softly.
"Not really but I just wanted to let you know that it will be a few days before you can activate your Innocence again," the blond replied, brushing a lock of curly hair behind her ear, "It's a side effect of this medicine we had to give you."
"Alright. Thank you very much. I'm glad you decided to tell before I tried to do something with it." Allen replied with a smile.
Matron smiled back before turning to the other Generals. They were all still spaced out around the room talking about little things. She let hem talk for a few more minutes before politely asking them to leave so that Allen could rest. From the looks on a few of their faces they were sorely tempted to decline the request. Green eyes hardened slightly at the thought of protest and, seeing the dark aura that had begun to surround the woman, all of the Generals got up and left. Mimi looked at them wide eyed from her seat beside Allen before Matron turned toward her. Smiling sheepishly she got up quickly, all but running for the door. Once she was out the blond returned to normal and Allen laughed.
"What's so funny?" she asked green eyes narrowing slightly.
"That's easy; it seems that no matter what time your in the matron of the infirmary is really scary when people try to defy her." Allen relied, still laughing softly.
"Well then... You need to get some rest. I'll see what can be done about getting you some actual rooms tomorrow."
"OK," the silverette replied beginning to snuggle down into his pillows before registering what she had said, "Wait, rooms? As in more than one?"
"Yes. All Generals get a set of rooms. Well, actually it's more of an apartment that just a set of rooms. Since there are so few people who are actually very strong we try to make sure that they are as comfortable as possible." Matron replied giving him an odd look.
"Wow... I'm sorry I'm just used to only having a single, plain room that is hardly lived in at all." Allen mumbled, looking away from the woman as he did so.
"Ah! I see. Well, get some sleep. I know you have to be at least a little tired after all of that excitement." she said walking over to check something on one of the monitors beside him.
"True, but I have to say I am more hungry than anything. Do you think I could get something to eat?" silver eyes met green, a slightly pleading look hidden in the depths.
"I don't see why not. What do you want?" Matron asked with a smile as she pulled out her phone to write it down.
"Well, wait can I get anything I want?"
"Of course. It's basically the same system as it was in your time."
"Wonderful. Well I want 20 pancakes, 15 orders of bacon, 30 pieces of French Toast, 10 scrambled eggs, 18 pieces of sausage, and three glasses of milk please." the teen said with a smile.
Matron gave him a stunned look but wrote it all down none the less. Typing a few keys on her phone she sent the "small" list of to the cook, Jer-bear. His name was Jerry but because he tended to act like a momma bear when people didn't eat enough he was simply "Jer-bear" now. As it also happened he was a descendant of the Jerry Allen knew in his time. He was also just as good a cook as the original Jerry so it was all good. The reply was almost instantaneous.
"It will be done in about three minutes and up here in five. Is that alright?" Matron asked, pocketing her phone.
"That's fine. Maybe you can tell me about what is going on in the Order these days." the teen said with a smile.
"Alright. What do you want to know?" Matron asked, pulling up a chair and sitting down.
After about two hours, in which Allen got and inhaled his food in record time, Matron rose from her chair. She had been talking practically non-stop, even while Allen was eating. The silverette was an amazing listener. He was silent for almost the whole time. The only time he spoke was to get clarification on somethings. Even so, those were few and far between.
As of right now, though, Allen was asleep. He had been on the verge of sleep for the past fifteen minutes, only just now having let himself go. Stepping a bit closer the blond tucked Allen's mis-matched arms under the blanket. She smiled at him and brushed a few strands of silver hair away from the teen's face before heading to the door. On the other side was none other than Andre Green. The black haired man had a dark look on his face as the doctor came from the room.
"Can I help you, Andre?" she asked, closing the door softly behind her.
A few seconds passed in silence before he spoke up, "I was merely wondering when Allen would be able to take his place as a General."
"Soon so hold your horses. He does need a bit of time to get used to the concept of being a General so we can't rush him at all.

"We don't have time for him to "adjust". We need him to take his place as soon as possible. At the rate things are going by the time he adjusts there won't be a Black Order for him to lead." Andre said folding his arms across his chest and looking at the ground.
"I know that, but we need to give him at least one day to walk around and familiarize himself with the place. It is very different that what he is used to. He kind of freaked out when I raised the bed earlier. We need to take things slowly with him until he figures it out himself."
"Alright. One day but that's it. I don't care if he's still a little confused after that but it can't be helped. We need him and we need him now."
