Yamamoto frowned at the news.

Kuchiki Byakuya and Zaraki Kenpachi... also disappeared. Ukitake and Kyoraku stood before his desk, both frowning uncomfortably at the news they received. The local shinigami, the ones that managed to avoid the hollow, reported that they had sensed the reiatsu of both Taichos disappear. When they went to investigate it was the same as all the other victims. No signs of struggles or blood. No nothing.

Gone.

"I don't believe they're dead," Kyoraku said, frowning and pushing his hat up. "This is Kenpachi and Byakuya, after all."

"But where could they have gone?" Ukitake asked, furrowing his brows and frowning slightly. "The hollow is still alive, and according to Kurotsuchi's subordinates they discovered scorch marks and the tracker. Though it was crushed when they found it."

"I can only guess how angry Kurotsuchi was when he saw his poor little invention." Kyoraku chuckled lightly.

"Send some of your subordinates to the World of the Living," Yamamoto said, seeing the brunette smirk and give a nod. "I want to know what happened."

"Kurotsuchi Taicho said there would be another possibility that they can't contact us," Ukitake said, glancing at the two with a frown. "They may be too far to even contact any local shinigami."

"But where could they be?" Kyoraku lifted his hat and looked up in thought. "They could be anywhere in Japan."

"Or maybe even further?"

Kyoraku and Yamamoto glanced at the white haired man, seeing him close his eyes and sigh. As soon as they finished talking Kyoraku started for his division to instruct some of his subordinates to look for any clues in Tokyo. All the Taichos received the news, and most were shocked to learn who disappeared. Kuchiki Byakuya and Zaraki Kenpachi. Two powerful shinigami that many people looked up to.

The news was given to their divisions.

Renji had been shocked, but soon grew angry and yelled that nothing could ever kill his Taicho. He yelled at the messenger and any people that tried to give him condolences. Kuchiki Byakuyan was not dead. He had to be alive. There was nothing but silence when the messenger told him he would be in charge of the sixth division.

"Until a new Taicho is-"

"Kuchiki Taicho is not dead," Renji ground out between clenched teeth, fingers curled into fists by his side. "I received your message. You can leave." He turned, stalking towards the building with a hard look in his eyes.

Elsewhere, Yachiru and the eleventh division were also getting the news. Every subordinate was shocked and distraught, all in shock at the news their fukutaicho had just delivered to them. Ikkaku yelled and threatened the messenger that was kneeling at the door, yelling that no one, hollow or not, could ever bring someone like Zaraki Kenpachi down. Yumichika was quiet, arms crossed over his chest and eyes narrowed as he stared coldly at the quiet man.

"Don't worry~!"

Everyone instantly grew quiet, all staring at the smiling fukutaicho. Yachiru grinned, throwing her arms in the air and waving them.

"Ken-chan will come back! He said so himself~!" Yachiru gave a bright smile. "And when he comes back we'll have a big party!"

It was silent before everyone gained determined looks on their faces. They all soon started yelling and agreeing that their Taicho would come back, all chasing the messenger away when he was about to tell them that Kusajishi fukutaicho would be in charge temporarily until there was someone more qualified to be a new Taicho. Ikkaku was silent, watching as the messenger disappeared, turning his head to stare at the young fukutaicho. Yachiru grinned widely and stepped down from the stool(not that it was tall enough for everyone to see her. Everyone had a difficult time trying to look over someone to spot her.).

"...So, where do ya think he got lost?" Ikkaku crossed his arms and smirked.

"Hmm," Yachiru pressed a finger to her lips and looked up in thought. She grinned and shrugged. "Dunno~! Ken-chan will tell us when he comes back~!"

Yumichika smiled. "I bet it will be quite a story to tell."

"Yep~!"

"Where the fuck are we?!"

Had Byakuya been anyone else he would have rolled his eyes in exasperation at the repeated question. They had continued to look around, frowning as they saw hundreds and hundreds of people crowding the streets. This did not feel... like the same area. The noble looked around the area, trying to spot anything that looked like Tokyo. He saw nothing but signs that he could not read. He saw patterns, but he would need more time to analyze them.

"Well, fuck. Guess that little shit pulled somethin'," Kenpachi scoffed and rolled his eyes, turning his head and frowning. "Oi, Kuchiki, check it out." He nodded his head in one direction.

Byakuya glanced at him and turned his head, instantly frowning when he saw someone walking around in their underclothing and holding a guitar with a strange looking hat on his head. Kenpachi started snickering when he sent him an unamused stare. Deciding to ignore him he unsheathed his sword and held it in front of him, trying to summon a gateway back to the Soul Society. It was shameful to be heading back without finishing the mission.

The noble soon narrowed his eyes when nothing happened, glancing at his zanpakuto and looking forward.

"Well, what're ya waitin' for?! Ya wanna check out the sights?!" Kenpachi crossed his arms and scowled, turning his head when someone just a few inches taller than him walked by.

"...The gate will not open," Byakuya said, looking in the distance. "I also do not sense any shinigami here."

"So?" The taller of the two snorted before he unsheathed his sword and held it out in front of him. He received a flat stare from his companion. Did he not hear? The gate will not open. "Fuck...!" Kenpachi cursed and curled his upper lip. "The hell's goin' on?! Kurotsuchi mess somethin' up?"

"I suggest we use the tracker to contact the Soul Society." Byakuya said, turning towards the tall man and holding his hand out.

Kenpachi frowned at his outstretched hand. "Ya retarded or somethin'? Ya took it from me! You should have it!"

Byakuya ignored him, and seeing as he had a point he started digging through his robes. The gruff Taicho sighed and turned his head, his visible eye growing when he saw someone wearing... huge clothes with tons of a makeup on her face walk by. He stared after her, pulling a face and raising an eyebrow. The fuck...?

He soon frowned when the son of a b-... his companion stopped moving with his eyes shadowed over.

"What?" Kenpachi grunted, standing casually as he waited.

"...The tracker is missing..."

Silence.

For ten whole seconds before...

"...WHAT?!"

How in the hell did he get stuck with this idiot?! The Taicho of the eleventh glared down at the sixth, hands shaking in restrained anger. How the hell did he lose it?! Was he so enamoured with the hollow he got starstruck and dropped it?! Byakuya gave him an unimpressed stare when he started growling.

"So what the hell do we do now?!" Kenpachi started glaring around the area.

Byakuya frowned at the question, observing the area. What now? That was a good question. The first thing that came to mind was find out where they were. So, he started down the street, ignoring the question from his companion. He didn't need to look back to know that the taller of the two was following. Without him the big fool would get lost, again.

Since they weren't anything close to being buddies, they stayed quiet, often glaring at one another if they got too close.

This was just fuckin' great. Now he was stuck... wherever the hell they were with the biggest stuck up bastard of the century. The one guy he wanted to tear to shreds. Not just because he was an asshole, but because he was curious who the stronger of the two were. Kenpachi huffed lightly when he saw the prissy princess stop and look up to stare at something. Looking up he also frowned when he saw a huge screen attached to the side of the building.

Humans were friggin' weird.

What purpose did that screen serve?

They started weaving through the crowds once more, the Taicho of the eleventh division growing more pissed off when people unconsciously moved away from his soul. Why the hell were there so much goddamn humans here?! Reaching out, he actually solidified his soul and pushed some people out of the way, people crying out in alarm and confusion when they were knocked aside by an unseen force.

"Fool," Byakuya turned towards him and stared him down—tried to, anyway. "We are not to touch any soul."

"So?" Kenpachi scoffed and continued walking(ignoring the confused humans all the while). "They can't see us."

The noble felt frustration bubbling up inside of him before he inwardly sighed and continued on.

Without a word, he used shunpo to get atop one of the buildings. With a curse the Taicho left behind jumped up, landing on several escape routes on the sides of the buildings before he landed on top. A glance around the area had them frowning when they saw nothing looked familiar. Snarling, Kenpachi turned and kicked one of the metal tubes on the building.

"I can't read any of these fuckin' signs!" He continued to yell in anger, stomping around the roof. He suddenly stopped and turned to glare at the other man. "Can you read 'em?"

"No." Byakuya gave a simple answer, one that the crude one of the two didn't want to hear.

He narrowed his eyes and frowned. "Fuckin' useless." Kenpachi muttered, shaking his head and turning to glare in the distance.

"Excuse me?" He was reaching his limit with this man. "I am not at fault. It is because of you that we are here. Had you not attacked the hollow it wouldn't have sent us here."

"ME?!" Kenpachi whirled around, turning to glare at the prissy fuckin' idiot. "If you didn't drop that fuckin' tracker we'd know where the hell we were! And I was doin' my fuckin' job and was tryin' ta kill that son of a bitch while you just sat back and drank yer fuckin' tea!"

"Are you implying that I was useless in that fight?" The air grew colder the higher their anger rose.

"What do you think?" Kenpachi smirked and put his hand on the sheathe of his sword, his intention clear. "Or ya can prove me wrong that yer not a weak ass, little prissy bitch."

Byakuya almost bristled in anger before he closed his eyes and started calming himself. The man was trying to get a rise out of him(which was, unfortunately, working). Turning around to get the man out of his sight he started glancing around the area once more. Narrowing his eyes he stared at one building, one that was higher than the most around them. Yet again, he used shunpo, almost feeling satisfied when he heard the brute cursing at him before he could feel his reiatsu growing closer.

It wasn't long before they made it, both looking around once more and frowning when nothing looked familiar. Letting out a small sigh, one that could barely be heard, the noble looked down at the street before he jumped down. Landing silently on the ground he started looking for anything he could read.

Zaraki's land was... more noticeable.

The concrete broke under the man's weight when he landed, dust and dirt flying away from the man. Some people near them screamed in alarm and backed away, staring at the broken sidewalk, all unaware that two beings were walking away.

"So what's the plan?" Kenpachi grunted, sneering at the thought of following any order the noble gave.

"We find out where we are," Byakuya answered, amazingly, eyes forward as he walked calmly. "Then we find a way to contact the Seireitei."

Kenpachi was frowning, as usual, as he looked around with the sun high in the sky. In Tokyo there had been some stuff that lit the streets, signs and neons everywhere. This place was... plain. He was sure that Kuchiki was also aware that they weren't there anymore. So where were they? They walked through some sort of park, both glancing momentarily at some performers. If someone could see them, that would be great. Then they could tell them where the hell they were. But since all the souls in the World of the Living were weak nobody could see them.

Which was a big pain in the arse.

Someone raised their head.

Hands tightening around his weapon he turned his head to the side.

Hmm...

"How big is this fuckin' place?"

Byakuya had silently asked the same question just five minutes before, just not crudely. They had to have been walking for half an hour, yet they still did not see an end to this city. Only once in a while did Zaraki make a comment, mostly of their surroundings. Trying to avoid confrontations with the man was easy, but he wasn't sure if the feeling was mutual. For all he knew, his fellow warrior wanted to tear him apart and couldn't. Not that he would succeed. He would be dead before he even tried attacking him.

From another viewpoint Kenpachi had to frown when he saw something akin to pride shine in the prissy princess' eyes. Why the hell was he looking so damn smug? Scoffing lightly, he continued to look around, taking note that the population was starting to lessen. At least now they had enough room to move around freely. Everything started to look more... rough, though just a tad. He scowled when two teenagers ran by, almost ran right through him, to get somewhere in a hurry.

"Any plans?" He sneered, seeing the other man look around and slowly shake his head.

"No," Byakuya looked around. "I do not sense anything familiar."

"No kidding." Kenpachi rolled his eyes and scoffed.

Byakuya turned to send him a glare before his eye caught something, turning his head and tensing just the slightest when he saw a book with a language he recognized. He used shunpo to get across the street, peering through the window and staring at the book intently. All Kenpachi did was walk across the street, dodging the vehicles easily enough. Once he crossed he looked at what prissy was staring at, giving a frown when he saw the book. He read the words etched across the cover. It was a translation book.

"...New York?" Kenpachi pulled a face. "Where the hell is that?"

Byakuya read the cover. "...In North America." He narrowed his eyes and glared at the book, as if it was the cause of all their problems.

Kenpachi frowned and sent his companion a sharp stare.

They were both silent as they digested the information.

"Are you sayin'... that hollow..." Kenpachi narrowed his eyes and stomping his foot, cracking the concrete in the process, and looking more enraged as the seconds went by. "...sent us across the fuckin' ocean?!"

Neither had a chance to even vent their anger before they sensed something.

A dark soul.

But... different, somehow.

They turned, seeing a hollow walking through the street, letting out a roar as it followed an innocent soul. Byakuya narrowed his eyes, along with Kenpachi. The hollow looked... different. Before the noble could say that they should assess the situation, Kenpachi shot forward. The Taicho of the sixth narrowed his eyes and sent the man a glare.

"Fool...!" He hissed lightly. No man could anger him quite like Zaraki.

Kenpachi gave a smirk, jumping up to an escape route and unsheathing his sword in the process. The hollow stopped, slowly turning towards him due to its mass, and roared loudly. One or two of the humans tensed, unsure of why they were even on edge. The soul raised its massive arm and took a swing, breaking down part of the building, while Kenpachi had dodged.

People screamed when rubble fell towards the ground, all running from the area in fear and confusion.

Byakuya held up his arm and frowned. "Hado thirty-three, Sokatsui."

Light appeared at the ends of his fingers, shooting towards the hollow while Kenpachi tried attacking at the same time.

The kido and zanpakuto went through the soul without causing it any harm.

They widened their eyes before jumping away.

"The fuck?" Kenpachi narrowed his eyes and snarled. He stared at his sword and growled lowly under his breath before looking up. The hollow looked towards him and roared loudly once again, opening its mouth where light started gathering. The Taicho scoffed before easily dodging the cero, frowning and continuing to dodge. Which was pissing him off! He wanted to kill the thing! Why couldn't he touch it?

Another kido was sent towards the hollow, which passed through it once again.

Byakuya frowned and narrowed his eyes. Why couldn't they purify the hollow? He glanced at his companion, seeing him jump back when its' foot stomped down towards him. Zaraki was doing his job, or was trying to, which would normally be appreciated since he could get rid of any hollow before anyone blinked. But in this instance...

"Zaraki," He appeared next to the brash man, seeing him glance at him and frown. "For now, it would be best if we retreat."

"Retreat?!" Kenpachi glared at him, almost looking disgusted at the idea.

Which would be an admirable trait, were it not for the enemy they couldn't harm.

Scowling, he turned to glare at the hollow. "Fine!"

Byakuya quickly used shunpo while the taller Taicho turned and jumped onto a building. Unfortunately, the hollow was after them, which made them frown. Great, it was following! The thing was fast enough to follow! Kenpachi sent the other man a pointed stare, one that was ignored. They both stopped when another hollow appeared in front of them, roaring loudly, attracted to the reiatsu to two had.

"Well, fuck." Kenpachi knew it was useless, but he held out his sword.

The noble frowned and reached for his.

A blade stuck through one of the hollows' head, causing the Taichos' to narrow their eyes and frown. The other one that had been following fell, as well, disappearing into the wind. The two men frowned and turned around to face the one responsible for getting rid of the hollows, both tensing and widening their eyes slightly at the sight.

A black entity faced them.

A large sickle was in their grasp, the sun glinting off the blade.

The entity wore a black robe, a hood covering its' head.

Silence.

"...I'm really startin' to hate this fuckin' day." Kenpachi growled, glaring at his companion and the entity.
