You Have Your Fathers Eyes

Chapter 7: Thieves And Parents

A/N: As if I don't have enough on my plate as it is... oh well, here, have this chapter after a million years of leaving this story due to writers block. Using a suggestion someone asked a million years ago, so I hope you all like this. Please R&R!

Nightwing yawned loudly as he awoke in his room within Wayne Manor, although he wasn't Nightwing right now, no, he was Richard Grayson, police officer and single father... well, not anymore. Dick may stay as a police officer, but finally, after five years in prison, his husband would return this afternoon. Stand ing at his full height, Dick walked over to his kitchen, freezing on the spot as he poured himself some cereal. Something wasn't right. Where was Mary screaming at Terry to shut up, where was Terry's laughter and where was Bruce asking for a piggyback ride? This was too weird. Looking around carefully, the hero started to walk around the manor carefully, silent on the floor that Bruce Wayne's room was on, considering the man would probably still be asleep since he was in no way a morning person.

Opening Terry's bedroom door, Dick took a look around. "Terr bear?" He asked, using her nickname to possibly draw her out. "You up yet?"

Looking around the room, Dick saw her bed-covers pushed up a bit, smirking, the man tiptoed to the blanket before yanking it off to possibly spook his middle child. However, his faithful German Shepard, Ace, jumped out from under the covers and barked away as he dashed through the house. Sighing, Dick threw the yellow blanket back onto the bed before walking to Mary's door next-door. Inside, just as Terry's room was, it was stark of any signs of Mary besides a wet towel from a shower (A true detective searched the laundry basket). But still, no children anywhere. Going into Bruce's room held the same results, except that his precious stuffed penguin that he loved so dearly was long gone, and where ever the penguin was, Bruce would certainly be. Doing one last check, Dick decided to head into the Bat-cave. Who knows, maybe they were all training or playing down there?

Walking down the stone steps of the cave after reaching it, now dressed as Nightwing, the hero searched the darkness carefully for the three kids. Nope, not here either. Sighing, Dick started losing hope, that is, until, he saw the timemachine cooling down from a recent use. Oh god. Running at a speed that Dick's best friend Wally would surely be jealous of, the hero stared at the machine with wide eyes. Yep, it looked like the kids had decided to ignore there grandpa's rule of not touching his equipment and used the dang machine. Checking the date they had been sent to, Dick sighed again, seeing that they were more then likely with him as a teenager in the Teen Titans. Suddenly, a doorbell ran upstairs, causing Nightwing to dress back into civilian clothing and answer the door in a rush, stopping in shock at the sight... it was Red X.

"I can't believe it..." Dick muttered before wrapping his arms around Red X, tears falling from his baby blues. "You're really back... I missed you."

"Missed you too birdie, hey, where are my favorite kids?" Red X asked, the man had bright green eyes and light brown hair, guess you know where Terry got her hair color from, huh?

Dick blushed, scratching the back of his head. "About that... you remember that one time as teenagers when we first started falling for each other? Remember, our future kids showed up?"

Red was taken aback. "You mean... oh shit, that's today, isn't it?"

"Language!" Dick said sternly before grabbing Red's hand and practically dragging him to the Bat-cave. "I still have your uniform by the way, its in one of Bruce's old cases. I know we agreed that you'd never be Red X again but... we need you Michael (1)."

The ex-thief grinned at Dick, his real name of Michael being used. "He he... no one's called me Michael since I was a normal street rat." He admitted. "Now lets go find our kids."

And with that, they retreated to the Bat-cave.

Line break

"So you're saying that in order to get you back to the future... we need to find my future lover... and get them to steal a certain jewel that will send you all home?" Robin asked aloud as he stood before his three future children.

Mary nodded. "Yes sir, at least... that's what papa said..."

Bruce tugged on Robin's cape, making the teenager stare down at the boy. "I wanna go home." The tyke said sadly, tears forming behind his mask.

Robin smiled, picking Bruce up and hugging him, ignoring Beast Boy and Cyborg's snickers as he did so. "Its okay, birdie. You'll be home soon, if I'm really your dad, I'm probably worried sick about you and am trying to do everything to get you home."

Within seconds, a large blue portal opened for the second time that week as a young man with raven hair and masked eyes like Robin's popped out of the portal along with another, much taller man dressed like... RED X!? The man looking like Robin wore a black, skin tight suit with a blue birds crest over his chest and shoulders, a black utility belt was strapped to his hips. He had the obvious appearance of an acrobat along with loner hair then Robin's, it even went down to his shoulders! The other man looked alot like Red X, but slightly upgraded. He had the skin tight suit with a grey cape still, but the X under his throat was now stretched across his chest, making him seem more deadly. His belt was now dark red instead of grey and looked a bit burned almost, as if it had been caught in a blast. It worried Robin, but not as much as having a guy dressed like RED X in his tower with a guy who liked like an older version of himself.

"Oh my god... time travel is such crap... my freaking head, how do you live with that, birdie?" Red X asked as he laid face down, groaning loudly.

Nightwing shrugged, stretching as he stood up, dragging his husband to his feet despite his many complaints. "I just put up with it, Red. Hey... OH MY GOD, KIDS!" The hero ran to the three shocked children and hugged them, rubbing there backs softly. "Oh thank god you're safe... I thought I'd lose you."

"Who's that man, papa?" Bruce asked, pointing to Red X. After all, Bruce had only just been born when Red X had been thrown in jail for his crimes in his youth.

"Well... that's your other daddy... he's been gone for awhile. But he's back... don't be scared." Nightwing whispered, urging the three to go to Red X.

Upon recognizing him as Red X after looking at him closely, Mary, the only child of the family who remembered Red X, ran to him crying as she hugged him, shocking everyone in the room completely. The Titans were silent, not knowing what to say or do. After all, what are you supposed to say when your leaders future self returns to find his kids with his long lost husband? After a few long moments, the hugging ended and Nightwing took on a serious air to him, looking straight at Robin.

"I'm guessing you know who I am by now." He said, smirking the way only Robin did.

Robin sighed, smiling nervously. "Honestly... yes, wow... I get tall..." He trailed off, just staring up at Nightwing with big, masked eyes.

Red X chuckled. "Yeah, but he's still short as heck!"

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"Yep, that's Robin alright." Cyborg decided as he watched the family with interest in his eyes. "So... what am I like in the future?"

Mary smiled. "You get twins!" She yelled excitedly.

"TWINS!?" Cyborg repeated rather loudly, looking ready to faint at any second. "Oh god... who's there ma?"

"Oh... you know." Terry said, wiggling her eyebrows under her mask, although Cyborg couldn't see it.

Bruce nodded. "Yeah... Raven and Beast Boy make a great couple too..."

Nightwing grabbed Bruce, looking shocked. "ACK! Having my past self know he's gay and married to Red X is bad enough, we don't need a freaking time warp!" He warned. "Well, if my timemachine theory works then you'll forget this even happened... if we're lucky."

"And if were not?" Robin asked, ignoring Raven fainting in the background while Beast Boy was happy as could be, a huge grin on his face as he pictured a future with Raven. "Will us even knowing small things change the future TOO badly?"

"Actually... I have no idea, we've only just made the timemachine a week ago with Batman and I guess my kids decided to play with it." Nightwing sent a very mild glare at the three kids, Terry just grinned the whole time. "I swear, you three are too much like Red."

Red X laughed. "Hahaha, look who's talking, you act just like the bat!" He accused playfully.

"Do not!"

"Do too!"

"Do not!"

"Do too!"

"Oh shut it." Robin growled, sick of his future self's argument. "Look, I just want everything to go back to normal like it used to be! Now then... how do we fix this mess?"

Mary smiled again. "Find Red X!" She continued from last earlier. "If we find Red X then he can get the gem that can open a portal to return us home. Its a bit more old fashioned then a timemachine but will work non the less."

Nightwing winked at Red X. "Told you she's my daughter." He smirked.

"Shut it, Richard." Red X warned, covering his mouth as he realized what he had done.

"Your name is Richard?" Cyborg asked Robin, who looked ready to murder Red X by the looks of it.

Bruce smiled in the background as Robin began to argue with Red X, he sat down and played with his penguin, smiling at the toy happily. "Yeah, they are crazy, huh?" The boy asked his stuffed animal as he ignored the arguments around himself.

A/N: Chapter done! A bit late in the day but I was really busy (And lazy) so here you go. More will come soon! And yes, I'm sure Robin will have some sort 'Oh my god this is really happening' moment soon! Please oh please R&R!

(1)- Since the Red X in this has brown hair, he isn't the Alexander Knight that I usually use as his name since in that he has orange hair instead, so I named him Michael after the maker of Rage Quit episodes on Youtube (I'll watch those now, he swears like nuts but its HILARIOUS!)
