Excuse me if this story seems a bit mis-matched, because I'm so busy at the moment that I'm kind of making this up as I'm going along, but I'm hoping you're still liking it and loving the comments I'm getting from you guys. It's keeping me motivated!

Chapter 13

Edward's POV

"You don't deserve to get to know your daughter," I heard a soft voice from behind the clan. They parted like the red sea and there stood a furious looking Tanya, her eyes pitch black telling me she hadn't fed in a while.

It was almost like she was expecting me.

"I know I made a huge mistake Tan-" I started but she cut me off.

"Mistake?" She laughed. "Mistake doesn't even begin to describe this! You knocked me up, you knew full well how I felt about you and yet you took advantage anyway and the minute you found out what I was, what this baby would be you ran for it. The funny thing is you then became what you despised most. I'd call that a little poetic justice, but you haven't suffered enough. Not yet. You are never going to meet her, never, ever. She thinks her father died from the Spanish flu and that's how it's going to stay."

"You think it's easy finding out you just impregnated a vampire? Finding out that your child would want to drink human blood, that your own child could potentially kill you before it can even talk? How is a seventeen year old boy, who knew nothing about the real world, supposed to deal with that?" I yelled in rage, I was so sick of feeling like the bad guy, so tired of hearing the whole Denali coven blame me for everything without even thinking about what I must've been going through as well. It was all about the mothers feelings. The father's feelings just cast aside.

"It?" Tanya's eyes widened. "IT? YOU CALL OUR CHILD AN IT? SHE'S A SHE! A PERSON EDWARD!"

"I know that! I didn't mean it that way Tanya! At the time I was feeling that way we didn't know what the gender was, she was an it at the time! For fucks sake, will you stop reading into everything I say as me being an absolute prick?"

"Maybe I would if you would stop acting like an absolute prick!"

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?" A voice behind Tanya shouted and we all turned to see who I assumed was Lauren.

My daughter.

Fuck. She looked so much like me. Unbelievably so. She had my bronze coloured hair, her eyes matching golden, telling me she was an animal drinker. That thought made me happy. At least she wasn't running round killing humans.

"Lauren go back inside, we're dealing with this," Tanya scolded her daughter.

No. Our daughter.

If I had any chance of getting back into her life I had to start believing in myself a little more.

"No, you're screaming at him. Who is he? I've never seen him before in my life mum! I've been alive 108 years!" She screamed.

That's when it occurred to me she was right. She's as old as I am a vampire. That was weird to think. Her mother is thousands of years older than her, yet her own father is only seventeen years older.

Tanya sighed heavily. "This is Edward Cullen. You remember us mentioning the Cullen clan don't you?" Tanya gave me a pointed look, telling me not to say anything about me being her father.

I'm guessing she never told Lauren my name, or maybe she made it up.

"Oh hi, I've never met any vampires from other clans. Do you feed on humans?" She asked, making a disgusted face.

He's a human drinker isn't he? That's why mum hates him. No wonder. She thought.

Couldn't she tell by the colour of my eyes? I was guessing Carmen could see the confusion written all over my face because she elaborated.

"Your eyes are black Edward, have you not fed in a while?"

"Oh…I guess not. A lot's been happening. Um…no I don't feed off humans, my clan all drink animal blood." I informed Lauren and her face lit up at the news, almost like she could trust me now she knew I wasn't a murderer…of humans.

A smile broke out onto my face too, her smile was infectious.

Oh that's good. Why would mum hate him then? Should I ask? No. They'd just move round the question…wow he looks so young, like me.

"How old are you Edward?" She asked seeming interested.

"125 years old, including human years too," I told her.

She seemed surprised. "You're almost as young as me," she gasped out. "Wow, that's weird."

I laughed a little. "Yeah, I was pretty young when I was turned."

"Who turned you?"

"Carlisle Cullen, the 'father' of my clan," I said.

She nodded. "I was born a vampire, did you know?"

I nodded.

"Not many people know humans and vampires can reproduce. It's funny really. I always wondered what my father would've said if he'd have known about me," she said, more to herself than anything else.

What he would've said if he knew I'd want to suck blood instead of milk.

I smiled. "He would've been proud of the beautiful young woman you've become, I'm sure of it."

She looked up surprised but then grinned widely. "Thank you."

"No problem."

There was a moment of silence before Tanya spoke up.

"Edward you need to leave, go back home to Bella," she snapped.

I swallowed. If only she knew. If only anyone knew. I sighed, looking to the floor. At least I'd always have this nice little moment I was able to have with my daughter. Not much was said, but it felt like a perfect reunion.

Bella? Is she a vampire too?

"You have a girlfriend?" Lauren asked me.

"Yeah, a human girlfriend," I announced.

She gasped. "Really? How do you control yourself around her?"

"I'm very controlled around human blood; it's one of my talents."

"What about time of the month?" Her eyes widened at the thought and I laughed.

"As I said, I can control myself around blood mostly. I've built up a tolerance for it. For that week of the month I keep her firmly away from my clan though. Can never be too careful."

"Come on Lauren, let's go inside," Tanya tried to grab Lauren's arm but she moved out of the way quickly and walked towards me.

"No mum, I'm talking to Edward. I like him," she smiled at me and I felt a burst of pride seeing my daughter standing in front of me.

It was scaring me how she'd react if she found out I was her father, would she go ape shit? Probably. Jesus, I'm starting to sound like Jacob.

"You'll have to come round again Edward. Nobody's chatty in this house it drives me insane. That's why I like you. It'd be good to get to know someone outside my family too," she said, sounding so mature.

Well for a 108 she damn well should but it was still shocking.

I nodded. "I sure will. You should get your mother to bring you round sometime. You can meet the rest of my family."

Her eyes lit up at that. "I will! I will!"

I laughed. "Okay, I'm gonna go. It was nice meeting you Lauren."

"You too," she smiled before running back into the house, the Denali family following her inside.

Tanya stopped at the door, not even bothering to turn to me before she uttered the words that blew any hope of seeing my daughter again.

"Stay away Edward. I'm warning you."

Embry's POV

"Quil slapped you didn't he?" Jazz suddenly asked out of the blue.

I eyed Quil who was happily sprawled across my bed, inhaling the popcorn from the bowl that Jacob was trying to hide from his greedy little hands.

"Um…no," I said in the most unconvincing voice ever.

"You're a bad liar Embry," he said in an annoyed tone and I bit my lip in nervousness.

"Well…technically I deserved it, you don't have to go all crazy, vampire on his ass, you know."

Jasper chuckled. "I'll let it slide this time then, but if there's so much as a scratch on you from any of those mutts, I'll be breaking some necks." He sounded so serious by the end of the sentence compared to the beginning that it felt much more threatening.

"QUIL!" Jacob yelled, snapping me out of my thoughts in time to see the popcorn bowl flying my way. Unfortunately not with enough time to move out the way as it came hurtling towards me, smacking me right in the middle of my face.

"OW! Fucking hell guys!" I yelled, throwing the bowl back at them, but Jacob caught it, grinning sheepishly at me.

"What the fuck happened?" I heard Jazz growl down my ear.

Damn. Not ten seconds after he promised to mutilate any wolf that hurt me, my two best friends throw a bowl at my head. Talk about the unfortunate timing.

"Nothing, I'm fine now. A mishap, I swear," I crossed my fingers, hoping he'd listen to me.

There was an eerie moment of silence, even Jacob and Quil looked worried.

"You're going to cause me to have an aneurysm one of these days," he sighed and I could almost imagine him rubbing his temples, as he always did when he was stressed out.

I grinned at the thought that I was beginning to get to know him so well I was picking up his habits. I couldn't have been happier with my mate and in that moment I was more thankful that I was a werewolf than I'd ever been. Even more thankful I'd been paired with Jasper, a guy who could read my emotions and know exactly what I needed when. It was perfect.

"Will you stop fucking grinning like a love sick puppy! You're supposed to be helping me get over that prick! Stop phone fucking and get your butt on this bed Embry Call!" Jake yelled, clearly frustrated that I was so happy in love and he was without his mate, who'd run off to god knows where.

"Sorry Jazz I gotta go. We've got some serious rebounding to do!" I told him.

I heard him growl loudly. "Just what exactly does he want with you in your bed while he's on the rebound?"

Oh fuck. I hadn't realised what I'd said made it sound like.

"No, Jazz. I didn't mean it that way. I just meant, we have to take Jake's mind off you know who by cheering him up, in a non-sexual, minimal touching kind of way, I promise. I'd never cheat on you," I tried to calm him down.

It seemed to work because his breathing relaxed. "Fine. Just tell him to keep his hands to himself."

I laughed. "Alright, bye Jazz."

"Goodbye Em," he said before hanging up.

I rested my phone back on the window sill and crawled back into my king sized bed, shoving Jacob over with my knee in the process, earning me a grunt in response. Even though the bed was huge, it seemed tiny when three huge werewolves were in it. My cover barely stretched to me, but then again that was mostly because Quil was hogging all of it.

The thought of Jazz walking in on us all sitting in bed like this, watching a film would probably make him flip a lid, but I was so used to how close Jacob, Quil and I were that it was just natural. We had no secrets, no shame either. It helped being wolves too because we were so used to seeing each other naked it was like second nature now.

When we were little the three of us used to share baths. There was no embarrassment whatsoever between us…well unless we were talking about sex, but that's because Jacob and I had only just recently lost our virginities, Quil had yet to lose his, so as far as sharing our sexual encounters went, that was a new embarrassing moment for us.

Thinking back to my phone call with Jazz that's when it occurred to me. I really was in love with Jasper. I couldn't exactly remember if we'd ever said the 'L' word to each other yet. So much had happened so quickly I'd actually forgotten, but it suddenly struck me that one of these days I was going to have to tell him how I felt.

The thought of that scared the shit out of me, I mean I know he was my mate and all and eventually, whether or not it was now he'd fall in love with me too, but the thought of telling him, opening up my heart and having him not say it back just crushed me.

I pushed the thought aside though, focusing on the film we were watching. Today wasn't about me. It was about cheering Jacob up, who had finally decided to come home after moping for days on end in Emmett's bed.

It was sad that most of the way through the film I was thinking about how much I missed Jasper. I was such a girl, it is ridiculous. But I loved him and I guess that's just how you are when you love someone. We were still very much in that puppy love stage.

My phone buzzed on the window sill and I grabbed it quickly, expecting a cute, mushy text from Jazz since I got at least four a day from him. Jacob glared at me, knowing I was breaking the no boyfriend rule yet again. It didn't seem fair though that I couldn't talk to my boyfriend, just because those two were single.

I opened the message from Jazz, but there was no cute message inside. I gasped.

I turned back to Jacob who was looking more annoyed by the second since I wasn't telling him what was happening. The shock still consuming me since this was the last thing I ever expected to happen today.

"Edward's back."

So sorry it was so short guys. I hope you like this chapter and will continue to stick with me. I'm trying my best since Uni is so, so hectic right now. I know the past few chapters hasn't had any Jacob/Edward moments but you'll be getting a lot next chapter and also it's just more realistic this way, couples don't spend every waking second together, things happened while they're apart and they have separate lives sometimes with certain situations so please try and see this story like it's just more realistic.

Okay, yeah, so read, review and enjoy!

See you guys later!
