Hello all, thank you for clicking on this fanfiction... This was my first ever fic about a year ago when I was still very new on the fan fic writing curve and hence upon a reread sometime this June, I found it very very flawed...However thanks to the continuous support from readers like my dear friends jorholic73, KJAX89 and Darklord of the Xmen, I've decided to come back and rewrite it... At least fix all those atrocious grammar and spelling mistakes I made... For new readers... This story is about marvel's Tigra who REALLY DESERVES A NEW ORIGIN STORY because she is such an interesting character but none of the writers... Majority of them anyway... Don't take her seriously... For older readers... If you guys are bored sitting around and waiting for me to update... Go check out KJAX89's X Force: Feral. Its a brilliant spin off based on this story... Trust me its worth it... Ok thats it... Enjoy and review :)
Greer wailed out in agony as she lay cowering behind a huge garbage bin in a dark alleyway. The pain she was experiencing was almost unbearable, and it was a miracle she was still conscious... Hesitantly, she casted her eyes down to the huge bloody bullet wound in her gut... dying to know just how bad the damage was... It was bad... She stifled a sob and tried desperately to clean up the wound. It didn't work; in fact it only succeeded in getting her hands stained with blood... Strengthening the already nauseating smell and causing her to feel faint... Pressing her hands against her burning gut, she curled up into an orange furry ball... Her strange alien tail instinctively wrapping itself around her legs as she pondered on how much her life had changed in just a matter of hours.
Less than twenty-four hours ago she was still a normal, high school cheerleader. Well not any high school cheerleader... Greer was queen bee, and with good reason. She was unreasonably attractive, tall with a willowy figure, long black raven hair pouring down from her head to her waist. She was popular, and always surrounded by a group of friends. Same couldn't be said about Gabriel though. Although Greer and Gabriel were twins, they could not be any more different. He was short and scrawny, his hair was always matted due to his hate of combs and he wore huge horn rimmed glasses, making his status as a dork extremely obvious. Most importantly, he had no friends, only "acquaintances" and he was constantly picked on. His intelligence on the other hand rivaled his sister's looks and popularity. Gabriel had been first in the school ever since "the beginning of time" according to Greer. Despite their differences, the twins were inseparable... the death of their father William Nelson, a policeman and the hatred the shared towards their aggressive new step father had brought them even closer together and they would literally do anything for each other.
School, life, everything was great for Greer until that day... The day when a man named Dr. Minos was invited to her school to give a lecture on cross species genetics. In his lecture, he claimed he could give ordinary human beings the strength, stamina, speed and agility of a wild animal through "splicing". The purpose was to create a new type of "Sentinel". A "sentinel" that possessed the intelligence of a human being, but the raw power that was needed to counter the growing mutant epidemic.
To Greer and at least 80% of the student body it sounded like a load of crap. Why would anyone want to be turned into some form of animal hybrid? She hated mutants to a fair degree but taking such drastic measures to eliminate them... was ridiculous. Doodling through the two hour long lecture and not taking in another word after Minos's boring introduction, she happily excited the lecture hall with her huge gang of fellow cheerleaders when it came to a close. Turning back however, she saw her twin brother Gabriel speaking to Dr. Minos.
After coming home from cheerleading practice and a girl's night out with her friends that day. Greer begrudgingly trudged up the stairs to her room. As she looked across the hallway, she noticed there was no noise or even light coming from Gabriel's room... Odd considering he was always working on something... "Maybe he's asleep..." she thought before entering her brother's room... Just in case...
" Gabe ... Gabe are you..." She stopped short, as the room was empty...
"What the hell..."
Noticing a piece of paper on Gabriel's table she picked it up. What it said nearly made her heart stop in dread.
