A/N: Kind of a starter up. Sorry if it's a little lagging, going to try to get back into this one :) It's not much but its a start from my very long hiatus. I'll be posting again soon. I hope you enjoy!

Quinn's head had been pounding since she woke up on the floor of the airplane, probably from the pillow support, or lack thereof, she assumed as she rose from the floor. The morning sunlight lit through the tiny windows of the plane allowing her to see everyone still fast asleep which didn't concern her because yesterday's events had to lead them all into a deep slumber, which drove her to her next question, why the hell was she awake? The thumping in her temples quickly reminded her and she sighed, going to sit down on one of the chairs, rubbing the sides of her head gently.

"Usually doesn't help." She heard a soft voice from the back of the plane, startling her half to death. Turning, she saw Finn, leaning against one of the chairs, his overly large hands in his pockets. "I mean I don't know much about the body, but heads are kind of my fort."

"Forte" Quinn corrected with a small nod.

"Yeah, that. Football kind of makes you more aware to things like that. Like do I have a migraine or a concussion?" He spoke, putting his hands out. "I had to figure that out. Well, my mom and Bu-" He froze, taking a deep breath. "Look, I know we're kind of at each other's throats a lot of the time, and to be honest I don't really know why, but I do know that we need each other."

At this Quinn looked up, furrowing her eyebrows. "Not just us two." He spoke evenly, "I mean all of us. Puck, Sam, Tina, Britt, Kurt...We all need each other. We can't lose someone else. I can't take losing someone else." He spoke a little quieter, almost to himself. "I can't lose Rachel." He finally said, closing his eyes. "I've been really stupid and not helpful these last few weeks and...I can't risk her dying because im too much of a coward or lame to protect her."

Quinn felt her blood freeze in her body, her stomach drop to the floor and her mouth go dry. "We're not in this for relationship status, you know that right?" She said, looking down the aisle at the boy. "We're in this to stay alive."

"I know and I'm not looking to be anything with her. I love her more than anything, Quinn, I love her more than I love myself. I want her to stay safe and..."

"Human." Quinn choked out, her body shivering at the thought.

"Yeah." He sighed. Finn pushed his head up to see Quinn still massaging her temple. "Here try this." He said, walking up to her and sitting in the seat across the aisle from her. "Cup your hands around your face and lay on your stomach." He said, gesturing for her to do it. She furrowed her eyebrows a bit before sighing and giving in. Within minutes almost all the pain had subsided and her thoughts were flowing back evenly.

"Thanks." She said after a few minutes of silence. "That helped a lot."

"Yeah, I had to figure out little tricks here and there." He said with a half grin.

Before either of them could say anything else, a loud bang sounded through the entire plane, waking up the rest of the group. On instinct, Quinn grabbed her gun, pointing it at the door. Everyone else followed soon after, aiming as best they could, sleep still in their system.

"Get behind me, Brittany." Santana ordered, her eyes big and crazy.

"San..." Brittany whimpered.

"We'll be okay, just think about all the different places we're going to travel to once we're out of here." Santana said calmly though her heart hammered in her chest.

"Like Spain?" Brittany asked.

"Wherever you want." Santana promised.

The banging became increasingly louder as each second passed, the sound echoing through the area and piercing through the kids' ears.

"What the hell is going on?!" Puck half yelled.

Rachel was closest to the door so with minor hesitation, she began walking towards a window, her gun firmly in her shaky hands.

"Rach-" Quinn started before the brunette turned to shush her. Turning back around, Rachel continued forward, gulping lightly before peaking out the window only to see three of the walking dead ramming themselves into the door, hard.

"We have to get out of here." Rachel said horrified, falling back. "They're running into the door, they're going to break it. We have to leave now!" She cried, turning back around.

"Over here." Blaine said, pointing to the emergency exit. "It's still connected to a terminal, I can see right down the hall." Running towards the door, everyone packed what little things they had and made their way through the door, the outside lighter than the plane.

Turning around, Quinn made sure Rachel was right next to her, grabbing her hand and pushing her in front. She felt the clamminess of Rachel's hand cover her own and could only wonder if hers felt the same; it probably did if not worse. Finally once they were all out and in the hallway, Sam led the way towards the airport, silently giving them gestures which only half knew. Stopping right outside the doors, Puck pulled them all together.

"Alright, we dont have much time. Where's our next point?" He asked quickly, turning his shoulder to make sure they were clear. All good.

"There's a grocery store a few miles ahead of this place." Tina said with ease. "It's about a 25 minute walk, more or less." At that, they all heard a blood-curdling scream from the hall.

"Unless someone can think of a better plan within the next three seconds, we're going to the store." Puck said hurriedly, cocking his gun and secure the headband on his head. "Let's go!" His voice boomed, running ahead and aiming at anything moving. Everyone followed soon behind, Quinn grabbing Rachel's hand and pushing her gun in the front of them. At this point, she could care less if anyone saw her, though she was sure everyone else was too concerned about their own lives to focus on anything else.

They ran outside, they ran passed the airport, they ran until it was a tiny speck behind them and even after that they ran. It wasn't until Kurt stopped, grabbing his chest and heaving that they all stopped to break.

"Are you alright?" Quinn asked, turning to the shorter girl, her brows knitted together while squeezing her hand.

"Aside from the lack of oxygen currently residing in my lungs, yes." Quinn chucked. She knew it was too much to ask of Rachel to just say yes. "I suppose our situation could have become a lot worse." She spoke, still trying to catch her breath, "so I'll assume this was a success as all of us still have our limbs and brains."

"Where's this place at, Tina?" Kurt asked, looking up from his previous position, both hands on his knees and hunched over.

"Not too far from here." She said, looking around and then smiling. "Matter of fact, it's right up the road." She said pointing to a tiny speck in the distance. They all took a few more minutes to shake themselves off from their previous situation before heading straight along the road.

"So." Quinn started, turning to the short brunette beside her, "think your moaning had anything to do with this?" She whispered with a smile.

"Shut up." Rachel ordered, staring daggers at the girl. "I'm sure if my vocal performance had anything to do with this, it would've happened a lot sooner."

"I'm kidding, Rach." Quinn said, pushing the girl's shoulder slightly.

"Hey, can we talk?" Finn intruded, walking up to both girls. "Just the both os us?" He asked, scratching his head and turning to the shorter girl.

"Finn, I -"

"Please, Rachel." He said, his tone sincere. Before Rachel could say anything else, she gulped and nodded.

"Sure." She said, a small smile on her face. "Of course." Rachel turned to Quinn whose face was a bright red, her heart pounding yet again in her chest. Rachel wouldn't take him back, she was smarter than that. But what if Quinn was just her rebound? What if this was just something to numb Rachel's pain? And with that, the both of them started walking a few feet ahead of the group, leaving Quinn behind in her thoughts.

"Don't let it get to you too much. I'm sure it's just the Big Green Giant trying to tell Yentl how stupid he was." Santana spoke quietly.

"Yeah.." Quinn gulped. It was as if every possible bad scenario was running through her head at full speed. She watched the two of them talk in front of her and couldn't help the anxiety that slowly began to rise.

"Well, this is definitely an Ohio grocery store." Kurt said a tiny disgusted. "It's hard to believe it could've gotten worse from it's previous state." They started walking up to the doors, vacant carts loitering the parking lot and trash throw everywhere. "I doubt we'll find anything but dust and bugs." Kurt spoke once more, Blaine making his way to the front door and opening it.

"Prepare to be surprised." Blaine spoke, entering first and staring at the shelves and shelves of stocked food.

"This doesn't seem right." Quinn said as they all made their way inside. "Why is everything so full?"

"Maybe because half of Ohio is infected and the other half was too scared to even leave their room much less make it to a grocery store. I bet we're the only ones stupid enough to not wait for help." Tina spoke.

"There's no sense in waiting for help that wont come." Kurt spoke easily, looking at all of the packaged treats.

"Just...everyone stay close and quiet. I'll see if it's safe enough to set up camp."Puck said, pulling up his gun and walking towards the back.

"You know, I think this place has it's own outdoors department. Fake grass and everything." Tina started, following Puck towards the back while everyone else disbursed.

"Hey, Rach." Quinn began, walking up to the girl, her eyes on the signs above, obviously looking for food to best suite her.

"Yes?" She asked, still looking before turning to the taller girl. "What is it, Quinn?"

"I just...what was up with you and Finn? Weird, huh?" She asked nervously, a small laugh coming from her mouth.

"He was apologizing for everything. It was actually quite sweet of him to come out and say he was wrong, if I do say so myself." She said, walking towards an aisle with a large amount of boxed pasta. "Wrong one." Rachel whispered under her breath.

"I mean, at least he apologized. Did he say anything else?" Quinn almost hesitated to ask.

"Not particularly. I believe he and I are better now. Or as best as we can be right now. He's really trying, Quinn. I hope everyone else can see that." Rachel said with a smile, her face light and beautiful. Quinn couldn't help the flutter her heart felt when she saw that smile. That torturous smile that made even a zombie outbreak seem like a thing of the past.

I love you, Rachel. You're the only one I want to be with, I want to give you the world, I want to make you the happiest person. I want you. I need you. Quinn thought this over and over and though she felt it would come out this time, her lip quivered.

"So what are we looking for?"

"Cashews. My dads would give them to me to ease my anxiety." She said with a smile, reaching for the top row cashews. Of course, Quinn thought with a smile before getting on her own and grabbing the ones she needed.

"They look...good?" She said, turning the can over in her hand before Rachel took them.

"Oh I hate them so much, but they help me." Rachel replied, opening the can and pushing a few in her mouth. Quinn only smiled, the satisfied look on Rachel's face more than enough to keep Quinn happy.

"Wanna buddy up again tonight when we sleep?" Quinn asked, playing with the fabric on her own shirt.

"No funny business." Rachel spoke, picking through the cashews. "We can't be so ignorant."

"Yeah. Sure." Quinn agreed, pushing her arm over the smaller girl's shoulders. "We'll see."
