Hi, everyone! I am so sorry this is not an update. Many of you have been asking when I plan to update this story since it was supposed to come back from hiatus this summer. That was my intended plan, but life happened instead. I spent six weeks studying abroad in Amsterdam, which was lovely, and then my dad was in and out of the hospital for most of the summer and is still struggling. Both these things left me with little time to work on this fic.

Thank you to everyone who sent their support and kind encouragements! To those of you who weren't so kind, please remember that fanfiction writers are people first. I am a college student with a job and other concerns, and I do my best. I have started on the next chapter of The Trial, but I can't say when it will be finished or posted.

Instead, I'll leave you guys with a little teaser from it…

"Could you define Horcruxes for the record?"

"A Horcrux is an external container for a piece of your soul," Harry explained, his tone never wavering like it had before. This part of the story did not seem as hard for him. "To split your soul, you have to murder an innocent. Creating a Horcrux is irreversible."

"And Voldemort had one?"

Harry stared at Daphne, and everyone in that room could see the exhaustion written on his face. "Voldemort had seven."

The courtroom came alive at that revelation. Evan exchanged glances with his parents, suddenly afraid. Could Voldemort still come back? Was the war really over? Lily and James had similar concerns of their own, but Mark did not look afraid. He knew his brother well enough to know Harry always finished what he started. Voldemort must be dead.

"And your mission was to destroy them?" Daphne probed. This was the detail of the story that would exonerate him, she knew. Being a double agent was one thing, but actively contributing to the downfall of Voldemort in such a big way was sure to win over the jury's support.
