Chapter 23: Easter Holiday Part 3, Taking Care of Business

Ever since the queen of England left on what most of the world still thought of as an alien spaceship; high powered cameras and telescopes have been glued to the area of space around the international space station. That was a feat in of itself as the space station orbits the Earth once every ninety-two minutes, so it depended on what country you lived in at the time the Phoenix returned if you wanted to see its return live. Regardless, in the early evening London time a blue door opened next to the space station and closed again leaving a black wedge-shaped ship with a golden phoenix painted on the top and bottom of the fuselage in its place. Harry proceeded to re-dock with the space station and set the ship in standby mode for the astronauts. Harry and Hermione stood and smiled at the royal party, especially at the children.

"How would you like to give London a show?" Harry asked the boys.

"Can we ride in one of those new ships?" William asked.

"Yes," Hermione said with a smile, "We thought we would take the Lambda shuttle as there is room for everyone, along with a fighter escort for show."

"That would be so cool," young prince Harry said.

"Well, let us be off then," the older Harry said.

Harry looked up at the crew.

"Prep the shuttle and two of the fighters for escort," he ordered.

"Yes sir," Commander Sheppard said with a crisp salute.

The crew members entered the lift for the run to the back of the Phoenix where the ships were berthed. The Pendragons, Grangers and the royal family entered the next lift and after a short ride exited on the shuttle deck. Everyone heard the ships power up and watched as the running lights turned on. The ramp was down on the shuttle so Harry and Hermione led everyone into the interior to sort out seating. The Grangers and the engineers found seats in the passenger area of the shuttle. Harry and Hermione led the queen and her husband to the flight deck.

"If you two would sit here you can see out the front transparisteel window as we make our descent," Hermione said.

The queen and her husband took their seats in anticipation of the descent from outer space down to the tarmac of RAF Northolt. Harry and Hermione took the pilot and navigator's seats and started the hovering sequence. The escort fighters rose from the floor and soon all three ships were hovering with landing struts retracted. Hermione sent the signal for the Phoenix to open the shuttle bay doors which opened with the blue screen keeping the air in the bay. The two fighters left the bay followed by the shuttle. Harry pushed a button on his console and the wings unfolded to their flight configuration.

"Set shields for atmospheric entry," Hermione commanded.

"Roger," came the reply from the fighters and Harry.

The shields flashed into being and then disappeared. The group then started their descent.

"RAF Northolt," Hermione spoke into the audio receptor, "This is shuttle Phoenix one and escort on descent. Entering atmosphere now vectored for runway 25 via a direct flight over greater London."

"Roger Phoenix one," the flight controller responded, "Be advised there is heavy airline traffic that parallels your projected flight path."

"Roger," Hermione answered, "We will keep an eye on them. You might inform them we are going to be alongside and to not panic when they see our ships. We want to show greater London what we are about."

"Roger, we have you on radar now," the flight controller said, "welcome home."

"Glad to be back," Hermione responded and then cut the connection.

British Airways flight 1128, a Boeing 747-300, non-stop from Singapore was flying over London as it aligned with runway 27R for its final approach to landing at Heathrow when the co-pilot happened to glance out his right hand window. What he saw off in the distance made him do a double take. Due to the length of the flight (13.5 hours) there was an extra captain and engineer. The co-pilot waved the idle engineer to look out his window.

"I know this has been a long trip, but please tell me I'm not seeing things."

The engineer looked out and spotted the three craft flying along a parallel flight path to them.

"A call to the flight controller can verify our sighting," the engineer said.

Just then a call came on the radio.

"Flight 1128 we have you on approach radar and you are cleared for landing. Be advised that you have three contacts one click off your starboard side," the controller said, "They are a shuttle and two escorts from the starship Phoenix. The Queen is aboard the shuttle."

"Roger," the captain said into his mike, "On final approach. Gear down and locked."

The copilot returned to his duties to help the captain run the final check list before landing. The engineer watched as the three ships veered away starboard and disappeared from view.

ooOOoo

The shuttle, an A-wing and X-wing fighter flew in formation over greater London slowly enough to be seen by everyone. More and more people stopped and looked up as they heard the sound of the three craft overhead. Soon news helicopters from the various news organizations were flying along with the three ships filming as they flew.

"RAF Northolt," Hermione said into her audio pick up, "Phoenix one and escort on final approach."

"Roger Phoenix one." The controller answered, "We have a visual on you. You are clear to land."

A crowd had gathered at the air base terminal, including crews from all of the local television stations, along with some international press. They all looked toward the center of London when they heard a strange sound that was getting louder by the second. There was a collective gasp when the shuttle with escorts turned on final approach to runway two five. The crowd watched as the shuttle Phoenix one folded its lower wings to the upright landing position with the landing struts extending. The shuttle settled to the ground and then the X and A wing fighters settled next to it. Flashbulbs were going off in a steady stream as everyone took in the three space craft thought to be only in the imagination of George Lukas and company. The front ramp of the shuttle lowered and the crew from the shuttle and fighters lined up, along with the Queen's Guard to honor Queen Elizabeth's return to Earth from a trip to another solar system. All stood at attention as the royal group walked down the ramp. The queen and her husband stepped up to a podium to give a short statement.

"We appreciate all of you welcoming us back after a very enlightening and most pleasant trip," the queen said, "The trip was very productive. We find it appropriate that England, along with our allies, take the first step to colonizing another planet. We hope this will be the first step, among many, to help spread humanity amongst the stars. We wish everyone a good Easter holiday."

With that the queen and her family walked to the cars waiting to take them home. Harry and Hermione turned to the crew and engineers.

"Commander Shepherd," he said, "You have done this before, so I turn command of the mission over to you and your crew. Coordinate with the engineering group on setting up the colony. Use whatever resources you need to get the job done."

"I have command," Shephard acknowledged, "We will get the job done."

"We know you will commander," Hermione answered.

Commander Shepherd and his group stood to attention, while the commander gave a crisp salute to his superior, which was returned in kind. Harry then turned to Hermione and with the Grangers hands held by the pair, phased to their home. The crowd all gasped as they watched the family fade away.

The Pendragons and Grangers returned just in time for high tea, which was served as soon as the family settled.

"Welcome back milord," Jeeves said with a bow as he served the tea.

"Thank you Jeeves," Helen Granger said, "Please, join us."

Jeeves bowed and poured himself a cup and sat to listen as the group discussed the details of the trip. He was proud to be a part of this family.

The next two days passed by uneventfully with the Grangers and Pendragons fasting on Friday in preparation for Mass on Sunday. On Sunday morning, the family arose from bed at their usual half past five, with Harry, Hermione and Sally Ann going to the basement to sit in meditation until breakfast at seven before church services. There would be no combat practice on this day of peace and worship. After breakfast the group dressed in their Sunday finest with the three Jedi wearing formal robes with their light sabers attached to their belts as a symbol of always being ready if needed. Jeeves brought the Rolls around to the front, where he held the door for the family to enter the car and get comfortable for the ride to the cathedral. The Pendragons and Grangers always sat with the queen during special holidays such as Christmas and Easter. Once the family arrived at the cathedral, the Granger adults led the children through the main doors of the cathedral. As the Pendragons crossed the threshold into the church proper, their robes turned pure white and they felt a compulsion to walk to the front of the church where there was a very large cross with Christ upon it with a spike through each hand and one through his feet. Upon his head was a crown of thorns and a depiction of a large gash in his side where a Roman guard had tested to see if he was dead. The Pendragons walked slowly down the central aisle as if in a trance and as they passed each row of pews the worshipers knelt and bowed their heads in prayer. As the pair approached the cross they rose slowly into the air until they were level with the statue's chest. When they reached the chest of the statue, it came to life with a soft glow and a halo around its head. The hard surface of the statue became soft and wrapped its arms around the couple in a loving embrace.

"You have done well, my children," the Creator said, "You have no need of forgiveness Hermione, as you did what was needful and right."

At that Hermione burst into tears and latched onto the manifestation of the Creator bawling in relief loud enough to be heard by everyone. Harry put his arms around his wife and held her tightly.

"You have proven over and over why I chose you two to be my agents in this universe," the glowing effigy of the Creator said.

"We live to serve only you Creator," Harry and Hermione chanted together.

"Go forth with my blessing amongst my people and unite this world in a way it has never known." said the Creator, "For they have a finite time before your powers as masters of the flowing rivers of life will be needed to protect them. They must be ready."

"They will be," Harry and Hermione responded, "you have our word on it."

"Then go in peace," the Creator said and then faded back into the statue of Christ upon the cross.

The pair floated down to the floor where they came to themselves and turned around to face the congregation where they noticed everyone was staring at them in rapture, including the cardinal in charge of the Easter service. Harry and Hermione both shook their heads in negation.

"No no no no no," they chanted together, "Do not look at us that way. We are just as humbled as you to be in the presence of The Creator of all things. We are not worthy of your rapture or your worship. For some of you this will be the proof you needed to believe the Creator exists, despite your coming to mass every Sunday as is your habit. He may not answer every prayer, but he does care for everyone on this planet and we are his proof. We have been sent to unite this planet under one government as we start to spread humanity amongst the stars, for we are not alone in this galaxy, or the universe. We came here today to hear the Bishop's Easter sermon and worship the Creator, the same as you. We are humbled he chose to manifest himself to us today. It makes our task easier if you are convinced that, through him, we have the best of intentions for the planet Earth and the people on it. All the people."

Harry and Hermione then turned to the queen's box and with a bow and curtsy they walked down the center aisle to join her for the service to come. Their robes had turned back to their normal color of deep maroon with their family crests showing with their silver light sabers hanging from their belts. The bishop was one of those people that had lost his faith in the Creator and was just going through the motions of what he had been doing for his whole life. He didn't miss the glance Harry and Hermione had sent his way and took their message to heart. He learned that day from their message what he needed to renew his faith and absolute proof that God was real. With tears of joy in his eyes and in his heart, he delivered his sermon with renewed faith in his words and actions. Everyone in the queen's box had tears in their eyes and pride in their hearts towards the couple as they took their seats with their extended family. The service was well received and as the queen was in attendance, unknown to the Pendragons, the sermon was televised to the local TV stations, which was then picked up and broadcast to the rest of the world. Their brief message had been seen on all the news broadcasts with the news casters speculating what it truly meant. A lot of the general population had seen the broadcast from the International Space Station, so they knew the Pendragons had gone on a mission of some kind, but didn't really understand exactly what it meant for them. Their lives just continued as they always had and soon it became old news to them. The scene from the church service reaffirmed faith in the almighty for a lot of them, while others paid it no mind. Life went on as it had always had.

ooOOoo

The holiday finally ended and it was a relieved Harry and Hermione, along with Sally Anne, who entered the portal to platform 9 ¾. They entered the Pendragon carriage and got ready to receive their friends and Padawan's. Neville was the first to show, followed by Susan and Hannah. A short time later Draco and Pansy climbed aboard and after a short bow and curtsy to the king and queen took their seats. No one said a word until Dora Tonks showed up a few minutes later with a huge smile on her face.

"I passed my entrance exam," she exclaimed, "They said as soon as I graduate I will be admitted straight into the academy."

"That's great Dora," Hermione said, excited for her cousin-in-law.

"I had complete confidence in you Dora," Harry added.

"Thanks," she said, "that new room certainly helped."

Everyone gathered around Dora and congratulated her on her accomplishment.

After Dora was congratulated by everyone, they all settled in for the ride back to school. With a whistle from the train's driver and a slight jerk, the train started its journey back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the Royal Carriage everyone dug through their packs for something to do. Harry and Hermione brought out a book each to peruse, Draco and Pansy set up a game of Wizard's Chess, Dora was engrossed in the entry manual for new and upcoming aurors, Neville and Susan were talking about their rolls as Padawan's. The only one not doing anything was Hannah. She had her eyes glued to the Pendragons with a thoughtful look on her face, as if she was trying to figure out something. That went on for a while until Hermione glanced up as she felt as if someone was watching her. She noticed Hannah's faraway look as she stared at the Pendragons, but not really seeing them. Hermione looked over her shoulder, wondering what Hannah was looking at. Not seeing anyone behind her Hermione looked back at Hannah and cleared her throat. This, of course, got everyone's attention.

"Everything okay Hannah?" Hermione asked.

Hannah came to herself with a blush on her cheeks and sat up straight in her chair. With a whisper she asked:

"Was that really him?"

Everyone was looking at Hannah in confusion, except for Sally-Anne, who after thinking for a second or two, understood the question. While Sally-Anne smiled, Hermione answered Hannah's question.

"If you are talking about what happened during mass service at the cathedral during Easter, then yes, it was him."

Hannah couldn't help herself and got down on her knees with her head bowed and her hands together in prayer.

"I only half believed," Hannah said, "I know you told us the Creator was responsible for your being here, but watching the service on the telly brought it all home to me. My family has always been stout believers in the Church of England, despite being magical. We always watch on the telly because my parents are afraid to go to the actual service. I am humbled to be in your presence."

Hermione and Harry stood and walked over to where Hannah was kneeled on the floor. Hermione gently picked Hannah up by her upper arms and set her on her feet.

"Never bow to us in worship," Harry said to her.

"We are not worthy," Hermione added, "we are all servants of the Creator of all Things. Harry and I just have a direct connection to him so he can communicate with him as needed. We were surprised as you to see him manifest himself to us. We have a mission as the Elders of the Universe to make the planet Earth safe for all who inhabit it, magical and nonmagical alike."

Harry continued, "You students in this carriage and any new recruits will be at the front lines with us as we make this planet a paradise to live on. If you heard our speech at mass, then you understand why we are here. There is no need to think of Hermione and I as anything more than your friends and teachers."

"Elders" was heard whispered around the carriage as everyone looked at the couple with greater respect.

Yes," Harry confirmed, "Hermione and I are elders. That is one of the reasons we can do some of the things we do. Please don't spread this around as the general population doesn't need to know."

"Please go back to what you were doing," Hermione said, "Lunch will be served soon."

The group returned to what they were doing before Hannah's prompted reveal from the Pendragons. As promised, Hermione set out her pic-nick-basket at lunch time to the delight of the carriage's occupants. With full bellies some went back what they were doing before lunch, while others laid back in their lounge chairs for a snooze to pass the time, allowing the clickety clack of the tracks to lure them to sleep. In the fullness of time the Hogwarts Express pulled into Hogsmeade station and with a squeal of the brakes brought the train to a stop. The students disembarked and entered the Thestral drawn carriages to make their way to the castle and the feast waiting for them inside. Mr. Filch greeted the students as they entered through the main doors with Mrs. Norris cradled in his arm. When Harry and Hermione entered, they stopped and gave Mrs. Norris a good rub.

"How are you Mrs. Norris?" Hermione asked.

"Merrowwrrrrrrrr," the cat purred.

"Why thank you Mrs. Norris," Hermione said, "You're looking quite lovely yourself."

The two men looked at each other and shook their heads at their respective other's activity. Harry and Hermione entered the Great Hall and walked to their seats at the round table, where the others were standing patiently awaiting their king. Harry held his wife's seat as she sat. He sat his own chair and the rest of their group sat afterwards. After dinner Harry and Hermione approached Professor Dumbledore and spoke quietly to him.

"We need to create a situation for Quirrell to make a play for the stone," Harry whispered.

"It is time we dealt with the spirit inhabiting Quirrell's body," Hermione added, "we will make sure Quirrell comes to no harm."

That settled the headmaster's unease at the thought of losing another young (to him) man with a bright future as a teacher. When he sent Quirrell on sabbatical with the promise of promoting him to the Defense Against the Dark Arts position upon his return, he never expected him to come back wearing a turban and with a stutter. He had thought something bad had happened to the young man, making him unsuitable to teach, but Quirrell had assured him he was okay, so Professor Dumbledore kept his promise and allowed Quirrell his promotion.

"I will make an announcement at breakfast in the morning," the headmaster said, "You will know what to do then."

With a nod of their heads, Harry and Hermione said in unison, "Goodnight professor, you are doing an excellent job and we are pleased with your service."

That last part was said to convince Quirrell that everything was business as usual as everyone was used to those two speaking in unison. The pair walked out the door, followed by the rest of their group to the special quarters set up for their growing numbers. On the way to their quarters Harry and Hermione stopped and knocked on Professor Sprout's door.

"Enter," they heard.

When Professor Sprout saw who had come to visit she stood and curtsied to her king and queen.

"No need for that professor," Harry said, "you are our teacher and we are your students. One can never learn too much and there is always room for more knowledge."

"Speaking of learning new things," Hermione took over as was their want when the two were together, "we something you might like to give a try at growing."

Harry pulled out the bag of caf beans and placed them in Professor Sprout's hand.

"These are called caf beans and they are from another galaxy and not native to Earth. We couldn't seem to find a decent cup of tea while we were visiting the Corusca Galaxy helping their government recover from a civil war. They had a popular drink called caf, that was as close as we could come to our tea. Our parents enjoyed the drink so much that we brought these beans back to see if they would grow in our soil."

"Yes," Hermione continued, "If this proves successful, we can use it as a cash crop for Hogwarts and maybe even license it to other farmers with the Hogwarts brand. No need for non-magical farmers to know Hogwarts is actually a school for magical beings. This will give us exclusive control over the crop and we can even put a castle behind the name to make it uniquely British.

Professor Sprout opened the bag and as soon as she did the aroma of caf rose from the bag and inhaled deeply.

"That smells wonderful," she exclaimed, "You can bet I will find a way to grow these. One sniff and I am convinced you will not have any trouble outsourcing these to local farmers. I can't wait till I can drink my first cup."

"I think you will definitely like it professor," Harry said, "That's all we had, so we will retire for the evening."

"Good night professor," Hermione said as she took Harry's arm and the couple left the professors office to their own quarters and a good nights rest.

ooOOoo

The next morning the group arose at their usual earliness and after meditating for a short time, everyone unclipped their training sabers and paired up for sparring. Being the odd man out, as he couldn't use the force, Draco paired up with a training dummy with a sword and dagger. He was determined to remain part of this group. Dora was watching over him and giving pointers where needed. Dora, being descended for the House of Black, was trained from a young age by her mother. The training helped keep her muscles toned and helped with teaching her how to always be aware of where her center of gravity was, no matter her form. Since she was a metamorphmagus, changing form also changed her center of gravity. ¹ As the chime struck seven o'clock, the group went to their quarters to get cleaned up and donned their attire for the day. The Pendragons dressed as masters of the Pendragon Order of the Jedi of Earth, while the others donned their Padawan uniforms and with their braids proudly displayed, marched behind the Grand Masters of Earth into the Great Hall for breaking their fast. The Great Hall filled quickly as students came in ready to start their last term before summer. As everyone was finishing up, Professor Dumbledore walked to the Lectern and raised himself up a bit so everyone could see him without having to raise up to see over the person in front of them. Professor Dumbledore cleared his throat to get the attention of those not paying attention to the teacher's tables.

"Thank you for your attention," he said, "I didn't give a welcome back speech last evening as I could see you were all tired for your trip."

That got a smattering of applause.

"That being said," Dumbledore smiled, "Welcome back all of you who traveled home for the holidays. The usual rule about staying out of the Forbidden Forest is still in effect, same as the third floor warning I gave at the beginning of the year."

The headmaster looked over to the Pendragons with a subtle nod.

"Here it comes," Harry sent, "keep an eye on Quirrell."

Hermione nodded as Dumbledore spoke up again.

"One further announcement and you can all go to your first class of the morning. I will be leaving the castle for a couple of days on Wizengamot business starting Wednesday, as we get ready for the summer session. Professor McGonagall will be in charge. She will have the help of the head boy and girl, along with the prefects. Please look to them if you need help. That is all. You are dismissed to your first class of the day."

The chatter and noise of the students started up again as they all rose to leave the Great Hall to gather their books for the morning classes. The Pendragon group rose and followed the students to their various classrooms for first period.

As they were walking Hermione sent to Harry, "Quirrell was trying to hide it, but I could see his eyes crinkle as he smiled behind his napkin."

"What would you like to do with him?" Harry sent.

"I think we should let him go and see what he does once he learns the truth," Hermione suggested, "we can put an undetectable tracker on his spirit to keep an eye on him. And of course, make sure Professor Quirrell is saved when Riddle tries to kill him as he leaves."

"That goes without saying," Harry sent back smiling at his joke, "Let's put a restricting field around his wraith so he can't actually hurt or possess anyone else."

Hermione smiled up at her husband and settled herself with her arm snugly entwined in his while they continued to class.

ooOOoo

On the day in question, Quirrell behaved normally and taught all his classes for the day in the hope no one would pay attention to his whereabouts after dinner. A quick trip down the third-floor corridor, grab the stone, quietly leave with no one the wiser. The Pendragons watched as Quirrell left the Great Hall at the same time he usually does to head back to his office. Harry and Hermione told their group to do whatever they wanted to do, as they had some business to take care of. The Royal couple finished their meal and after dismissing the group to do what they wanted for the evening, after getting any homework done of course, they went into an empty corridor and disillusioned themselves. They waited patiently outside the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom for Quirrell to make his move. Once the hallways quieted down, Quirrell opened the door and proceeded towards the third-floor corridor. Harry and Hermione floated a few inches off the floor and followed.² With a silent "Alohomora", Quirrell made sure his music box was playing as he slipped it behind the slightly open door. He waited a minute or two till he could hear the dog snoring before opening the door.

"Bloody beast," he mumbled under his breath as he levitated the three-headed dog named "Fluffy" over to the far corner of the room, uncovering the trap door. He opened the trapdoor and levitated himself down to the next floor, neatly avoiding the Devils Snare. He silently cast a fire spell at the dangerous plant and lowered himself one more floor down. He walked into the room with the flying keys used one of the brooms to catch the correct key, damaging its wings in the process. He made it safely into the next room with Harry and Hermione following. The room was dark until Quirrell stepped further causing the lights to come up. Quirrell saw the chess set and with a wave of his wand, blasted the set to bits.

"I don't have time for this nonsense," he again mumbled.

In the next room the troll saw who entered and stepped aside, as this was Quirrell's contribution to the traps. Harry and Hermione waited until Quirrell went through the door and repaired the chess set.

"I bet Mr. Weasley would love to play with this set," Hermione sent, "I think we should set up a room for this. It would be a good way to teach strategy to the students."

Harry agreed as they floated through the room with the troll, where after a few grunts and squeals, Harry waved his hand at the troll and sent her back to her family. They floated into the next room, and since they were disillusioned, they didn't trigger the flames. The couple phased through the last door so as not to alert Quirrell. They flew down a short corridor into the room proper and hovered there watching as Quirrell was trying figure out the last puzzle.

"What is this mirror Master?" Quirrell asked, "I can see the stone, but I can't figure out how to get it."

"Turn around and let me see it," a male voice hissed from the back of Quirrell's head.

Quirrell reached up and unwound the turban from around his head. Harry and Hermione knew what to expect. They alighted on the floor and faded into view.

"It's called the Mirror of Erised," Harry said, "It shows what you desire most, but won't let you have the stone"

Quirrell spun around so Voldemort was facing the couple.

"Harry Potter," the face hissed, "I was hoping you would follow me down here. Look what you have done to me. I am mere vapor, only able to possess the weak minded. Unicorn blood can sustain me, but the elixir of life will give me a new body."

Hermione snickered with mirth in her eyes.

"Sorry, couldn't help myself." she said.

"You think this is funny do you," Quirrellmort said in a rage, "a mudblood like you doesn't deserve to live, 'Avada Kedavra'".

Quirrellmort jabbed the wand towards Hermione throwing all his power into the curse. The green bolt flashed across the room and washed over Hermione with no effect. In surprise Quirrell tried again. This time Hermione held up her hand and caught the curse, causing it to hover in the air above her hand.

"Would you like this back?" Hermione asked, "Malfoy Sr. tried that and it didn't work for him either. We sent him to the creator to be judged."

"What are you?" Quirrellmort asked, "with a touch of fear in his voice."

With a wave of his hand Harry froze Quirrellmort from the neck down.

"You will stand there and listen," Harry said, with a nod to his wife.

"First, about the mirror," Hermione conjured a seat for her and her husband, where they sat so she could cuddle into him, "the only way you can beat Professor Dumbledore's trap is to want the stone, and here's the catch, not want to use it."

"Like this," Harry said as he held out his hand. The stone flew out of the mirror and into his outstretched hand. Harry put it in an inside pocket of his robes."

"Give me that stone," Quirrellmort demands, despite his predicament, "I need it to get my body back you stole from me."

"Not going to happen," Hermione said, "Wouldn't do any good if we let you have it. There is no such thing as the Elixir of Life. Nicholas and Pernell Flamel are immortal, not because of any so-called elixir. They are immortal because they are true soul mates. The stone only allowed them to make gold as they needed it over their long-life spans. The myth of the Elixir of Life was concocted so they could live without having to move every few years to hide their relative youth. Everyone thinks they know about the Philosopher's Stone, but it is only a myth."

"Then why are you keeping it?" the prisoner asked, trying to buy some time to escape, his red eyes burning brightly, "I'm already immortal. You know I will come after you when I get a body."

"You won't be able to leave Quirrell's body until we release you." Harry informed Quirrellmort, "so you might as well save your strength.

"You didn't do your research thoroughly enough when you were a teen did you," Hermione said, "If you had, you wouldn't have done what you did to your soul. Making Horcruxes does not extend your life. They only keep you from leaving this plane of existence if your body is destroyed to the point the healers can't fix it. You soul anchors age as you do. ³ I know, once you put the soul shard in a container they go into stasis. The thing is, as soon as they are brought out of stasis, they will quickly age to whatever your age happens to be when you activate them."

"You didn't gain any longevity," Harry added, "You only gave yourself a sort of life insurance policy that you would at least live out a normal lifespan. Sort of like a cat having nine lives."

"Your main problem is it is not a good idea to split your soul. You instantly go insane and your paranoia skyrockets," Hermione explained, "Our advice to you is to go to all of your anchors and reintegrate them into your body if you can."

"It usually takes a feeling of genuine remorse to work though," Harry added.

Hermione saw Quirrellmort's eyes widen.

"Yes, we are going to let you go," She said, "We are the Elders of the Universe and there is no place on this planet you can go to hide from us. There are a lot more dangerous things in the universe, than an old man with delusions of grandeur. Besides, the stone I have in my pocket is a fake. It was used to lure you here."

Quirrellmort screamed the rage of an insane man at hearing that.

"Mr. Riddle. You are not a threat to us, so BEGONE." Hermione said.

With a wave of her hands, the wraith that called itself Voldemort vanished from Professor Quirrell's body. Harry and Hermione caught him as they released the binding spell and started the trip back to the third-floor corridor with Quirrell floating behind them. They met Dumbledore in the key room on his way to see them.

"Were you able to save him?" He asked.

"Yes," Harry answered, "We thought we might meet you on the way out."

"Put your hand on my shoulder professor," Hermione instructed, "I will phase us to the hospital wing."

The professor complied and in the next instant found himself in the hospital wing, along with Harry, Hermione and Professor Quirrell.

The professor looked around while feeling all over his body for missing parts.

"That certainly wasn't disaparation," Professor Dumbledore said.

"We call it phasing," Harry said, "We basically phase from our dimension into what we call sub-space, travel to our destination and phase back into our dimension. It only takes a second or so and it's a lot quieter."

Harry reached into his inner pocket to pull the stone out, which he then handed to the professor.

"We've had a long day," Harry said, "We'll see you in the morning."
