One shot about Blair's first birthday after having Henry. Enjoy!

It was 11:58 pm and the Bass house was silent. Chuck and Blair were finally asleep after making sure that the baby monitor was on properly and listening anxiously in fear that their two month old son would wake up. The house had been quiet for about an hour and a half now, and everyone was sleeping peacefully. Or they were until Henry woke up and began to cry. Naturally Blair woke up first as she was a lighter sleeper than Chuck and got out of bed to go check on her little prince. Chuck felt the shift and the bed and suddenly became aware to the sound of his son mewing only a few doors down.

Blair walked into the nursery and picked up her crying son from his cradle.

"Shhh Henry, mommy's here go back to sleep." She sat down in the plush white rocking chair and began to sing Henry a lullaby in hopes to get both herself and the baby back to sleep as soon as possible. He didn't have to have his diaper changed, nor was he hot or hungry as he had been fed only two hours previously.

Blair looked down at the brown haired bundle in her arms and couldn't help but tear up at how wonderful he was. His head was resting against her chest and he was starting to fall back into a sleep. Blair just continued rocking in the chair and humming, not just for Henry, but because the sound and motion was comforting to her. She was finally a mother and used every opportunity she could to take in these precious little moments.

Chuck quietly snuck into the nursery and heard Blair singing to his son. He stood in the doorway for a while, just listening and admiring his little family. Blair was an amazing mother and it was evident in every little thing she did. She knew how to do everything, and even if she didn't she never faltered in confidence but braved on the new waters in motherhood. Once Blair had stopped singing Chuck crept over to her side.

"How is he?" He asked. Chuck stared down at his son and felt a warmth spread over him. The little bundle in Blair's arms was just another part of his now perfect and loving life, and Chuck couldn't have been happier.

"Yes he's fine, probably just woke up and couldn't fall back asleep on his own." She answered without taking her eyes off of Henry.

"You are an amazing mother, and I don't think it is even possible to describe how much I love you." He leaned down and kissed the top of her head.

"Well, I have an amazing father to work along side with." At this she lifted her head and kissed him softly and lovingly. When they broke apart Chuck smiled and Blair handed their sleeping son over to Chuck. Chuck put him in the cradle and the two went back to their room.

Blair snuggled up against Chuck in their big bed. Chuck pulled her tighter and the two snuggled further down into a dream-like state. His eyes caught to digital clock just as he started to drift off and saw the the numbers read 12:17am.

"Happy Birthday Blair." He leaned in, kissed her, and she smiled.

"Yes, it is." was all she said before slipping into a peaceful sleep in her husband's arms.
