Anxiety was something that the Rain Mage knew she didn't need to be feeling at the moment, but she just couldn't help herself. Juvia Lockser had always been predisposed to being nervous and jittery slightly before any notable event was about to take place. Still, she knew that a Girl's Night Out wasn't exactly something to stress over. She loved the girls in Fairy Tail, and she knew that they loved her back...even if one or two of them were possible Romantic Rivals of hers. Despite this knowledge, she still glanced in the mirror one last time before carefully putting on her butterfly-adorned hat. Juvia was definitely looking forward to a good night with her girlfriends. The past two weeks were quite hectic, as she had taken quite a few missions during that span of time.
For some reason, Gajeel had really needed to do two specific missions with Juvia's help. Through the other girls however, Juvia learned later on that this was to get Levy a gift to atone for accidentally having shredded one of her books. Those two missions granted him exactly enough reward money, after splitting half with Juvia, to get Levy her present. Juvia recalled with a smile how she and the other girls had all giggled wildly at this latest development, while Levy simply stared at the ground, her face redder than a tomato and steaming like a kettle. After that whole fiasco, the Rain Mage had planned to rest up a bit before going on missions again. However, who else but her Gray-sama would come waltzing into the guild, and after failing to find his usual team, asked Juvia if she wanted to come along with him to do a mission.
Despite her tiredness from her last two missions with Gajeel, who was kidding who? There was no way Juvia Lockser was about to turn down the chance to spend time alone with Gray Fullbuster on a mission. Their mission went smoothly enough, as they usually did, and her performance had even earned her a casual compliment from Gray about how she was an "awesome teammate" and how they "should do this more often". Oh, how her heart throbbed when she recalled her beloved's sweet words. Well, maybe not objectively sweet, but certainly sweet to the bluenette coming from the love of her life. After she'd returned from her mission with her Gray-sama, she was immediately dragged to the bar counter where the rest of the girls surrounded her and asked her how things had gone. This time, it was her turn to blush violently as they pestered her about "progress with Gray" and how much of a "cute couple" they'd make. Despite how nervous and bashful all this made her felt, she couldn't deny that it made her feel nice, in a way. The intense interest that the girls had for Juvia's love life made her feel like she was truly a part of the group. Like she belonged.
And so, with one last kiss and stroke of the hair for her treasured Gray doll, Juvia headed towards the door, preparing for a night of relaxing fun with her girlfriends.
"Try not to miss Juvia too much." the Rain Mage giggled as she waved her Gray doll a goodbye before closing the door behind her.
