AN: Hey all! And huzzah, I have finally managed to type the rest of this up...and in order to get this published today, I kind of rushed with a couple parts, so I apologize in advance. But, to make up for it, I plan on making the next chapter longer. With better details. Though thanks for all the reviews from the last chapter! 27 is quite a lot for one chapter, and so I thank you all for your support, for all of your words motivate me to write more. :) And I don't know if I've mentioned this in the last chapter, but I pretty much know the ending result of the story, and also what the main ideas of each chapter are going to be. I just need to figure out how long I want to make this. Guess it depends on what you all think.

Disclaimer: Nope, I don't own any of Toriyama's characters, or anything else that he has made. I just like to fantasize and fangirl over the series, and with my imagination make all of the characters do whatever I please, like the puppets they are.

An Unforeseeable Destiny

Chapter 2

"Just who are you, exactly?" Chi-Chi asked peculiarly, taking a step back, and further examining her savior by slowly circling around him. Something about him seemed oddly familiar. And for some reason, she got some kind of vibe like she's been around him another time.

"You really want to know, princess?" He asked, and watched her nod her head in response. "All right then-prepare yourself."

His hands steadily and cautiously trailed up to his face, and within an instant yanked off his mask as if it were nothing, discarding it to the forest floor. Chi-Chi was head over heels, inching nearer in a hint of curiosity as his fingers grasped the rough edges of his hood, which didn't take long before it was also on the ground besides the other article of clothing. And with his face now revealed to her wondrous eyes, she could finally assume if her 'knight in shining armor' was actually a part of her past.

"Oh my goodness-it's you!" Chi-Chi gasped mellifluously, placing her petite hands over her mouth, prior to her knowledge. It appeared as though her childhood friend, or simply put as her only childhood friend, had suddenly jumped back into her life. Whether it be fate or coincidence, somehow, the two had cross each other's paths. But no matter, the raven-haired heiress still was struck by a wave of pure delight, with its waters briefly replenishing her mentally tormented being.

While in her state of shock, her mind began to drift off, thinking back to the times in her life where everything was actually normal. Oh, and did she forget to mention peaceful as well?

She wished she could go back to the times when she would enjoy feeling the warm summer breeze that brushed her slight sun kissed skin delicately. Or the time when she could lay her feet in the cool, yet refreshing clear creek waters, that rejuvenated her inner being with peace, and longevity. And she could go on with her list over the adventures she had with nature, but the more she thought about it, she knew deep inside she could never go back to when everything was essentially perfect. But somehow, she held onto a bit of hope that someday, she could restore what was once lost, if possible.

Though a time such as this, in which occurred in what seemed like eons ago, and she had to wonder with uncertainty-will her kingdom ever find harmony once more?

Chi-Chi abruptly sighed without her consent, "Oh, what wouldn't I give for another chance of all being at peace once more," her words carelessly left her lips as a faint whisper, allowing her arms to hug her body tightly for comfort. And as she was lost in thought, she barely picked up her savior's simple gestures, as he was responding to her last comment.

His head tilted upwards while giving her a small nod, followed by a grin. "Yes, it's me, Chi-Chi. It's good to see you again." He agreed softly, crossing his arms over his chest casually, as he then made himself comfortable by leaning against the nearest tree trunk. "So how've you been?" He simply asked, quirking a brow.

An abrupt scoff derived from the raven-haired princess, while she frowned in discomfort. "How could you ask that at a time like this-especially when my kingdom is too busy being held hostage by a mad man?" Her words sputtered out in a hot, fiery mess, as she jutted out her bottom lip, letting her rising rage gradually slip out, like a tyrant trying to forcibly break free from its imprisonment. "Do you not understand the hell I went through as a young child?" She angrily hissed through clenched teeth. "My father was and is still bedridden, multiple villagers have either been killed or either have to fend for themselves or run away, and that damn monster is the cause of it all; with his ravenous followers searching every corner of this damned land, or hell, even the Earth for me!" She finished with a scream, as her eyes burned with both terror and fury.

Chi-Chi's savior cringed, letting his insides tense up for a brief moment at her sudden anger, before releasing a calming breath shortly after. If he were to let herself be completely taken over by anger, who knows what could occur next. "Chi-Chi," he warned in a low, nervous tone, "calm down. This is not the time to get all worked up over something-"

Her eye twitched in response, following by an enraged growl. "Calm down?! Who do you think you're talking to with that tone of voice?!" She shouted furiously, narrowing her eyes. "You should-" Before the fuming princess could continue her hissy fit, she released a breathless yelp, when she was suddenly roughly pulled and hurled like a ragdoll over her savior's shoulder.

"What are you-" She began irately as confusion fogged up her mind, but was immediately silenced once more as Goku took off into the forest, while shushing her in the process.

Chi-Chi felt the roughness of the wind thrash her ebony hair around, as her head hung slightly downwards over the man's shoulders. And while she quickly grew impatient, no longer could she tolerate him treating her like some sack of worthless junk, as she then began landing punches on his lower back in irritation. Now presently and thoroughly pissed off, she wholeheartedly lashed each individual blow onto any place on his backside she was capable in reaching, in hopes that he would drop her. But to no avail, it seemed as though none of her hits penetrated him in the slightest. "Let me down! You hear?" She growled angrily, now coming to a stopping point with her violent actions to glance back at his apathetic expression. And when she was struck with realization of her failed attempts of escape from his arms, she then started another possible solution-by squirming in a rough manner.

"Let me down, Goku!"

Goku rushed deeper into the heart of the forest, not paying any mind to the enraged woman draped over his shoulder. "Now is not the time, princess. We're being followed!" He huffed out between breaths as he flew down the fading path, his heart beating with both freight and excitement.

"What?"

"Exactly!" He panted for air as he skidded to a halt in the middle of a dimly lightened clearing. His head whipped in multiple directions, briefly scanning for any possible place of safety.

"Would you at least mind telling me where we-"

Goku placed a hand over Chi-Chi's mouth, silencing her. "If you don't want us to be found, I suggest you stay quiet."

Unexpectedly, he heard some stifled whispers nearby, followed by some footsteps. And before Chi-Chi could react, Goku had already pulled her to his body behind a thick tree trunk.

"Where in the hell did she run off to?" A low voice mumbled infuriatingly.

"How am I supposed to know? Weren't you the one in charge of finding her and taking her back to please Lord Iblis?" Another responded in frustration.

"Ugh, I give up. Let's just pick up where we left off another time. Our lord might not be pleased, but he just needs to become pretty damn patient every once in a while, as he can't have everything he wants within a matter of seconds." The first voice complained back. "Let's just go!"

As soon as the small search party left, out of sight and out of mind, Goku drew his hand away from Chi-Chi's mouth, allowing her to speak once more.

"Well, wasn't that experience just exciting," she stated simply while exhaling softly.

A brief pause commenced between the two, which gave Goku some time to think over what had recently occurred.

Goku had to admit, they were pretty close to being found, due to all the commotion from the woman beside him. But he had nothing against her, due to the fact that she'd gone through many life changing events throughout her life. Even he had a difficult time growing up, without a parent or guardian to keep him in place. But somehow he had managed to turn into a decent young man, through all the times he had to teach himself how to fend for himself, hunt for food, and build his own place to live in.

Though it was a different story for Chi-Chi. She grew up with a home, a parent to watch over her, and whatever else she needed to live a happy life. At least until the kingdom was taken over by some mysterious overlord. And ever since being kept hidden with her bedridden father, things have only gone downhill from there.

"You know-you shouldn't just leave yourself completely exposed to those that are looking for you." And before Chi-Chi could protest, he quickly added, "You should go find another place that's well hidden, and isolated from the kingdom. It's best that you don't become easily tracked by the enemy." Goku suggested softly, crossing his arms over his chest.

Chi-Chi glanced up at him, with eyes slightly narrowed. "If it bothers you so much, then why don't you find me a place to hide? It's not like I can make a hiding place appear out of nowhere." She replied lamely, placing her hands on her hips.

Goku couldn't argue with that, he figured. Besides the fact that he missed living with someone, he had a soft spot for helping others. Not mention the fact he loved the thrill of adventure; and with taking responsibility of the princess, he was bound to come across new challenges. Something he was striving for.

"Come on." He commanded softly, glancing down at her face. "I guess I have no choice but to let you stay hidden at my home."

"Huh?"

"Didn't you hear me?" Goku glanced back at the puzzled woman, quirking a brow. "I said I'll take you back to where I live."

"All right, guess I have no choice." She nodded in approval. "But under one condition, that is."

"And what is that?"

Chi-Chi smirked. "You stop calling me 'princess'."

Goku returned the gesture. "Fair enough."
