It's only been five years in the making but it's happening guys! To anyone who is reading or rereading this story I appreciate you so much! Happy reading everyone :)

Chapter 1:

It was finally summer in Amity Park. School had just let out for the season Friday and now the recently freed high schoolers crowded to their local haunt: The Nasty Burger. Most were gossiping or talking about what they were going to do that summer. However, there were three seemingly average teens huddled in a corner booth whispering as if they had some big secret only the three of them knew. Which, in fact, they did.

Marooned in this cobwebbed corner booth was Tucker Foley, self-proclaimed techno-nerd and lover of all thing's technology. Samantha Manson, or Sam rather, is a creature of the night and hater of the light and all things pink. Finally, there was the completely average Daniel (Danny) Fenton who liked to stay under the radar and attract as little attention as possible. Nobody ever suspected the younger Fenton of anything and many just thought him strange just like the rest of the Fenton family.

The three were situated in the booth as follows: Tucker was sitting to the left of Danny, and Sam was sitting across from them. They had no food in front of them and were instead crouched over the table in a strange huddle talking about the recent ghost attacks.

"What are we going to do? More and more ghosts are coming out of the Ghost Zone, and half of them are ones we've never fought before!" Danny fretted.

"Don't worry dude," Tucker consoled his friend, "we've been able to beat them all so far, and now we don't have to worry about school getting in the way!"

"Tucker's right Danny, you won't have to worry about your grades, or coming up with excuses to tell your parents! We have the whole summer!" Sam chimed in, also trying to give support. Danny had been extra stressed by their sophomore year and needed a break more than anyone.

"Yeah, I guess, it's just that Jazz has been pressing me about college and 'thinking about the rest of my life' as she put it." Danny sighed and rested his head on the table.

"Forget your sister," Tucker replies. "She's going to college next year, so she won't be on your case. Besides we have all Junior year to think about that stuff! Let's just enjoy the now." Sam nodded in agreement with a look of sympathy in her eye directed at Danny.

Danny perked up a little and sat up straighter. "You know… you guys are right! College shmollege." He said with a dismissive wave, "we have plenty of time! Let's just enjoy our-." The rest of Danny's sentence was cut off by a mysterious blue mist coming from his mouth. "Great," he mumbled.

"Don't worry too much Danny, it's probably just the Box Ghost," Sam whispered.

"Yeah," agreed Tucker. "If you're not back in five minutes, we'll know it's not, and come help you."

Danny just nodded and with all former joy and hopefulness gone, he slipped under the table. To anyone who might have been watching, they would have seen everything. However, everybody in the Nasty Burger was so involved in themselves that they paid the nobody's in the back any attention. And so, away from prying eyes, Danny whispered his signature "Going ghost" not wanting to attract attention care not to give the patrons a reason to look over.

With a brilliant ring of white light, that, again, nobody seemed to notice, Danny's normally bright blues eyes turned a radioactive green. His raven black hair turned snow white, and his simple t-shirt and blue jeans transformed into a black jumpsuit with white gloves, boots, and DP insignia on his chest. Danny Fenton, a regular 16-year-old boy, was now the famed ghost hero of Amity Park: Danny Phantom.

Danny used his ghostly intangibility and invisibility to fly up onto the roof. Once there, he turned tangible again and touched down on the top of the restaurant. His neon eyes scanned the area, looking for any sign of the ghost that disrupted his peace. The young half ghost – or halfa – saw nothing, though he knew the ghost was around here somewhere. He turned visible and dropped his battle stance. Dropping his stance proved to be a mistake because seconds later something hit him in the back of the head. Danny turned around to see what it was.

A phone. What?

Suddenly a big, booming, and slightly annoying, voice echoes from behind. "I am Technus! Master of all things technological and beeping! I have come to use your devices to enslave you all!"

Danny rolled his eyes, he really didn't want to deal with this right now. But, the show must go on.

Danny turned around to face his foe. "Hey, tech-freak! "Are you about done shouting your plans to the world? I don't have all day to listen to your long-winded speeches!"

Technus turned to face the white-haired ghost teen on the opposite roof. He flew over to the ghost boy, raising his hands to the heavens. "Ha-ha!" Technus shouted. "I am just trying to distract you ghost-child! For behold, my Techno-bot 2.0!"

Using his ghostly energy, Technus started to control everything technological around him. TV's rose up out of houses, cell phones flew out of people's hands and pockets, and pretty much anything that could be plugged into a power outlet rose into the sky and formed into a giant being.

"Techno-bot? Really?" Danny asked. "You really need to come up with better names. And what happened to 1.0?" asked Danny.

"It kept glitching out on me! It took me months to perfect this design!" Technus exclaimed, waving his hand around dramatically.

Danny nodded, that was all he wanted to ask before he beat his opponent. He flew up and started pounding the monstrosity with everything he had; ectoblasts, ice rays, even a combination of both. But no matter what he tried, it just kept growing with more and more technological equipment.

"Awesome," he grumbled. "Even Technus is getting stronger. Whose next; Skulker?" Danny sure hoped not, briefly remembering Skulk-tech from his dystopian future, and shivered.

While Danny was busy mumbling to himself, Technus took the opportunity to pin him to the ground with various power chords.

'Come on!' Danny thought, 'where are Tucker and Sam! They said they'd be here in five minutes! It's definitely been more than that!'

Little did Danny know that Tucker was weeping over his newest PDA, named Debbie, that got whisked away by Technus. At the same time, Sam was trying to snap him out of his tantrum albeit without much success.

Back on the roof, Technus was gloating. "What are you going to do Phantom? I Technus master of-" he was cut short by the ectoblast that hit him right in the motherboard.

That moment was all Danny needed, he broke free of the wires and pulled out the hidden thermos. He pressed the button and "the Master of Long-winded Speeches" was gone in a whirl of blue light. All the technology the ghost was controlling fell 15 feet onto the road below. He smiled sheepishly at the dirty looks some people gave him for ruining their new flat screen, but some things couldn't be helped.

Suddenly remembering the ghost that helped him, he turned, only to find nobody there. 'They must have fled' he thought. After all, very few ghosts want to be seen helping the ghost boy.

He was just about to turn intangible and go back down into the Nasty Burger when he felt someone tap his shoulder. Danny turned only to see nobody there. Danny's confusion prompted a laugh from the unseen specter. Danny smiled, turned his hand invisible, and quickly reached behind him, and grabbed her arm before she could react.

"Nice try Dani!" He laughed, "but you're terrible at hiding."

"Did you see your face? It was priceless!" She laughed.

Danny just rolled his eye at her antics. "Thanks, by the way, I don't know what I would have done if you wouldn't have shown up."

"No problem! After all, what are cousins for?" She asked, and Danny just laughed in response.

"Now, I have to go beat up my friends for not being there in a fight," he joked. "Wanna come help?"

"With pleasure," Dani replied.

With that, the two half-ghosts melted through the ceiling to go talk to weeping geek and the irritated goth girl.

In the depths of the Ghost Zone, time moved differently. One dared not venture very far or else they may not make it out in the time they had once found themselves in. It sometimes moved forward, backward, or stood still. The only one who had control of this phenomenon, and of time itself was Clockwork. The Master of Time could see into the future, the past, any point in time really changing, forms along the way. Clockwork could see all possible outcomes of an event whether it has happened or not. It would drive anyone mad – human or ghost alike – except Clockwork. He was made to do this, he was a timekeeper, the very last. The past, present, and future were all in his hands.

Currently, Clockwork was looking into the future, and frankly, he didn't like what he saw. He played it, again and again, taking different paths to see the outcomes. He didn't like what he saw. Sometimes, it seemed, the future was inevitable. Not even the Master of time could help it. When he had seen enough he just sat there in his adult form and sighed.

"It has to be done." He said to the empty room.

he floated over to a table in the far corner of the viewing chamber. He grabbed the object that he promised to watch over in his left hand, keeping the time staff in his right. Clockwork traveled to the far end of the vast chamber, took a left, then went down a long hallway. Reaching the end, he took another left. He continued until he approached a staircase leading downward. Once down the steps, he floated along until he saw another doorway, this time on the right. He tapped the door with the staff and it swung open quietly. The ancient ghost went inside and changed into his elder form.

The room was empty except for one small table in the center. The dark walls held an eerie glow, almost like the Ghost Zone itself. Yet, this glow was darker and had a sinister feel to it. Clockwork floated farther into the room and set the object on the table. He touched his staff to the top and whispered quietly in a language lost to time.

With that, he left the room and secured the door behind him. He stood there for a moment, changing into his child form. He wasn't supposed to intervene, but sometimes things must be done for the greater good.

"He'll thank me for this," he whispered. The boy would understand. He had to.

The Keeper of Time made his journey back through the labyrinth of halls until he was back in the viewing chamber. He sat down on a chair near a bookshelf, both recently added. He stared ahead into the future.

"Everything is how it should be," he said. However, if anyone were listening they would hear the doubt in his voice. Almost like he was trying to convince himself.
