Trust In Me

"Do you trust me?" Steve was asking Jessie that afternoon.

The plan Steve and Danny were suggesting made Jessie sick to his stomach to think about. After all, it put him in the same room as the guys that got his older half brother Jimmy thrown in jail, and even worse than that, got his older brother Andy killed. While the plan seemed absolutely insane to him, it was fairly simple. He was going to meet up with the dealers and get them to talk about the drugs they were distributing; if he could get them to talk about Andy that would be even better because then they would go away for life.

"Yeah," Jessie nodded. "Yeah, I trust you Mr. M."

"Good," Steve nodded in agreement. "Me, Danno, and Chin will be outside the warehouse listening the whole time." They had explained that they would be able to listen to what was going on inside without risking him wearing a wire, much like they did with Kono on their first case together. However, they didn't feel comfortable leaving Jessie in there alone for that long with these guys.

"Keep them talking long enough to implicate themselves," Danny told him now. "Take the drugs, and get the hell out of there. We'll go in once you're out."

"Ok," Jessie nodded again. He felt like he was just nodding a lot, that things were very surreal right now. He knew that it was dangerous, but he also knew that if they guys were still out there they could go after him, maybe his parents, and what he was afraid of most, they would hurt Lucy. He wanted to protect her and get the guys that killed his brother.

Jessie walked into the warehouse, trying not to appear to be nervous. It was hard not to as he hoped the two dealers, Alex and Jay, didn't notice the Five-0 van that was surveying them about a hundred yards away. Reasoning that they had been inside the warehouse getting the drugs packaged before they even showed up, Jessie pushed through the doors and headed inside, seeing the two men sitting on a worn out couch, getting things together.

"Good, you're here," the one, Alex, said. "You gotta a lot to take care of here, we're behind."

"Thanks to your brothers slacking off," the other, Jay, chimed in. He was the one that shot Andy in the bar a few nights ago, though Alex had been there as well.

"Once Jimmy gets out I'm sure he'll be all yours again," Jessie told them.

"Till then we got the smartest Scott brother," Alex said. "And, hey," he said, handing Jessie the package. "Even if you get busted, maybe you'll get out of it because you're banging that Five-0 guy's daughter."

"We're not going to talk about her," Jessie said stiffly.

"Why not? She's seriously hot buddy. Way to hot for you."

"I said not to talk about her," Jessie snapped. They both seemed surprised by Jessie's outburst. After all, he only tagged along to these things with Andy, he never really said a lot.

"I'd watch your mouth kid," Jay told him now. "Or we'll end up going to visit her."

"Like you visited Andy?" Jessie asked back; Jay got up now and stepped closer to him.

"That's right," Jay told him, his voice low and threatening. "We'll kill her, we'll kill your parents, and we'll kill you. Just like we did to Andy."

"I should just take these and get out of here then," Jessie backed off now.

"We'll see you back here in a week," Alex told him and Jessie nodded as he backed away. "We got a bigger supply coming in that you're going to have to get dealt out."

"Got it," Jessie nodded, placing the package inside his jacket before heading outside. The two drug dealers didn't think anything of it, thinking it was going to be easy to bully this kid into doing all their work for them; much easier than Jimmy or Andy. They were just enough in their comfort zone to be completely surprised when Steve and the others came bursting through the door to arrest them.

Jessie sat back in the Five-0 office, waiting for the others. Steve had called to tell him good job and that he was on his way back, with Chin and Danny taking Alex and Jay to jail where they were going to be for a long time; Jessie would never have to worry about them again. Hearing someone coming into the office, Jessie looked up and saw Steve coming in.

"Danno and Chin just dropped the guys off," Steve explained. "No bail or deals and once they're convicted, no parole. You don't have to worry about them again."

"Thanks Mr. M," Jessie told him appreciatively, getting up and shaking his hand. "Thanks for helping me." He knew that it couldn't have been easy, helping your daughter's boyfriend who was clearly involved in something dangerous, something you didn't know if he was a good guy in or not.

"Thanks for helping us catch them," Steve said back. "You were great." He paused. "I'm proud of you Jessie."

"...yeah?" Jessie asked in surprise. It wasn't a huge secret that Steve wasn't Jessie's biggest fan when he started dating Lucy.

"Absolutely," Steve assured him. "There's someone else here that wants to see you," he nodded at his office door. Jessie went out in to the hall and saw Lucy sitting there with Alexia; she got up immediately and ran over to hug him. Passing by them, Alexia walked into the office to see her husband.

"Good job today," she congratulated him.

"He did the hard stuff," Steve motioned at the door meaning Jessie. "The scary stuff." Alexia smiled at him.

"You like Jessie," Alexia teased him.

"He's a good kid," Steve agreed. Jessie had certainly grown on Steve in the last few weeks, even if they had a huge rough patch. Jessie wasn't just a good kid, he was going to grow up to be a good man, someone that he would like Lucy to be with.
