Yen'fey and Aversa

C

Yen'fey: ...

Aversa: Excuse me? Yen'fey?

Yen'fey: ... Yes? What do you need?

Aversa: I was just wondering what you were doing. You were sitting out here, so alone, so defenseless- er, I mean-

Yen'fey: I prefer solitude.

Aversa: Really? I could have never guessed.

Yen'fey: Now unless you have something else to say, I'd prefer you leave me be.

Aversa: My! What did I do to deserve the cold shoulder? I just wanted to say hello to my dear comrade, that's all.

Yen'fey: Somehow, I sincerly doubt that. Begone, foul temptress. I have no ear nor care for your devilish charms.

Aversa: Foul temptress? Someone has a flair for dramatics.

Yen'fey: It seems I have no choice but to find a new place to meditate...

*Yen'fey leaves*

Aversa: My Goddess! How infuriating! How dare he insinuate that I only came here to seduce him!... Even if that WAS the reason I came over. Yen'fey, my dear, don't think you can slip away so easily. Once I have a man in my sights, I never let him go.

B

Yen'fey:...

Aversa: Yooho! Yen'fey, dear!

Yen'fey:...

Aversa: What's wrong? Is everything alright? Are you ignoring me?

Yen'fey: ...

Aversa: Oh, why, Yen'fey? Why must you be so cruel to me? I've been nothing but a kindred soul for you!

Yen'fey: Kindred soul? And you said that it was I with the flair for dramatics.

Aversa: Yen'fey! You spoke!

Yen'fey: You say that as if I were unable to speak at all.

Aversa: It's just that... You're always so mean to me, I just thought... Well, never mind...

Yen'fey: Wait! Aversa...

Aversa: What? Do you want to yell at me some more?

Yen'fey: ... My sister often said I was too cold to people... Too distant. I do not mean to make you feel unwanted... I just prefer solitude. It's not you specifically.

Aversa: Oh... You don't hate me? In that case, I want to ask you a favor.

Yen'fey: ... Yes?

Aversa: I was going to go into town tomorrow to eat out. Would you please come with me?

Yen'fey: ... I suppose...

Aversa: Yes! I knew that would work!

Yen'fey: What?

Aversa: I said I'd better get to work! I need to find out what to wear!

Yen'fey: ...

Aversa: (Almost caught me...)

Yen'fey: What?

Aversa: Nothing!

A

Aversa: Hey! Yen'fey, darling!

Yen'fey: ...

Aversa: Yen'fey, what's the matter? I thought we had a lovely meal together...

Yen'fey: You decieved me.

Aversa: Oh? And how do you figure?

Yen'fey: We ate at such a crowded and popular place... The gossip that sprung about us spread about the camp like wildfire... A fire you've no doubt been spreading.

Aversa: Heh. Looks like I've been caught red handed, haven't I? Yes, I've been spreading rumors about us.

Yen'fey: Why do you seem so calm?

Aversa: Because it's too late to stop it. The entire camp thinks we're together. If you back out now, everyone will think you're a heartless womanizer who used me.

Yen'fey: On the contrary, I believe that they will realize that you set everything up.

Aversa: No they- Well, maybe... Yeah, they probably will...

Yen'fey: Tell me... Why must you pursue me so? Why go after me, when there are plenty of other men who will fall victim to you?

Aversa: Victim? I hardly- Oh, forget it. They are like victims. Sweet, little-

Yen'fey: Do not try to avoid my question.

Aversa: Yeesh, right to the point, huh? ... I went after you because you looked so alone.

Yen'fey: Alone? I told you, I-

Aversa: Prefer the loneliness? I don't think you do. I was a lot like you back when I was with Validar. Though he claimed that he loved me, I knew that he'd easily cast me aside if need be. So I lied and said I didn't need him. I lied and said that I prefered the loneliness. I thought... You looked like you were that way.

Yen'fey: Aversa... I apologize. I... Will try to make time for you.

Aversa: What?

Yen'fey: I had thought your intentions were foul, hoping only to seduce me for a night's pleasure. But now, I hear the innocence and kindness in your words. I will attempt to be a tad more considerate of you.

Aversa: Yen'fey... Thank you.

S

Aversa: Yen'fey, can I ask you something?

Yen'fey: What?

Aversa: After this is all over... What do you plan to do?

Yen'fey: ... I will go back to the world from which I came.

Aversa: What?

Yen'fey: I do not belong in this world. After I right the wrongs I have done, I will return and live with my original failure.

Aversa: But what about us? Will you just leave us all behind?

Yen'fey: ... Yes. Everyone here has their own lives to live. They should not need to be bothered by meddlers from another time such as myself.

Aversa: Yen'fey... So you are leaving no matter what?

Yen'fey: Should I survive, yes.

Aversa: Then that settles it.

Yen'fey: What?

Aversa: I'm going with you.

Yen'fey: Aversa-

Aversa: That wasn't a question, that was a statement. I'll have you know I'm a fiercely loyal woman. Once a man is in my sights, I never let him go. I'm not going to let you or myself be alone again.

Yen'fey: ...

Aversa: ...

Yen'fey: So be it.

Aversa: Yen'fey!

Yen'fey: Aversa, I can tell that I cannot change your mind. We will go back together. Though I warn you, the world I know is not peaceful... It will likely be filled with more war.

Aversa: I don't care. So long as I'm with you, I can deal with it...

Yen'fey.

Epilouge

After the war, Aversa and Yen'fey went back to his timeline. Though their lives were filled with war, never again were either of them lonely.

A/N: Whew! Sorry about that long hiatus, my readers! School and Drama Club got in the way, and then Christmas came, and then NFL playoffs... I've been busy. But! I want to get this story done before January ends. And, since there are only two chapters left, I think I can pull that off. Anyways, thanks to all of you for waiting so long! Until next time...
