Chapter 1. A Big Mistake
A/n Sorry I haven't updated this story or my others in a while. My excuse is... I have no excuse. I'm just a lazy fatass fuck. I'll try to work harder (I've been hit with a sudden lightning bolt of motivation) My progress on my stories are listed on my profile (I need a beta for all my stories... I'm not exactly good at finding them.) I also want to thank Vocaloid for granting me motivation and inspiration. Check out the song Bacterial Contamination (current favorite, strongly suggested not to watch at night) Plus, if you didn't know, the real names of the crew are David Moss (Lasercorn), Joshua Ovenshire (Jovenshire), Matt Sohinki (Sohinki).
Disclaimer: I do NOT own Smoshgames. (I wish I did. If I did... Oh the possibilities!)

Anthony's POV
I stood quietly, just sort of staring at the game in my hand. We are going to play this game for tonight's special late night gamebang. The fans have been begging us to play a game with jumpscares, and this one for sure would have plenty. Either that or we could make fun of it. Ian and I had found it in a small store while looking for props for our next Smosh video.

Earlier that week
3rd Person POV
A bell jingled as Ian and Anthony entered the tiny store. Ian pointed out an old opaque crystal ball, sitting on a table collecting cobwebs.
"Cool, we can use that for our next video." Anthony said, scooping the ball up in his arms. They continued searching the store, soon finding their desired prop. They walked over to the counter, placing both the crystal ball and an antique doll on top of it. The elderly lady at the counter checked out their stuff.
She gave it to them and warned them "Be careful with Emily." to which they took no notice. The lady stood there looking the two young men up and down for a second as they were about to walk out the door. "Oh, do wait a minute, I think I have something you two might like." They stopped and backtracked back to the counter. She went behind a crimson and violet curtain, and returned with a videogame. "You two look like you like to play videogames, so I thought you would like this." She handed Ian the game.
"Yeah, we do. We actually have our own videogame channel on Youtube." Anthony said. "But what system can you play it on?"
"Well what do you have dear?" She asks sweetly.
"We have a N64..." Ian said looking at the old game's wrinkled and worn box.
"Oh yes, that will work. It is quite a good game too. People would play it all in one day, then come back the next day to thank me for suggesting it to them." the lady said with a beaming smile.
"Well thanks, Mrs..." Ian squinted at her nametag, which said Martha Vixen. "Mrs. Vixen." He finished, paying for the game and leaving the store with Anthony. The door jingled one last chime before they left.
The old lady laughed "Oh yes, they'll be back."

All of the other workers at the Smosh HQ have already went home to their families. We really couldn't keep them after eleven just to play one videogame for an hour or so. We'll be all alone here to play the game. Not that it would be a problem, this game doesn't look scary at all.
I look closer at the dusty cover. I hope it will work, it looks older than me! It has a red pixelated demon on the cover with an outstretched claw. The rest of the cover is black except for it's name. "Sacrifice". The name looks like it is scratched into the box, with a boney gross pink hand trailing off the end of the E. I flip the case over to look at the back.
I have to squint to read the tiny writing. I began to read the objective out loud to the camera "Survive waves of demons in the haunted house until the clock strikes 7:06. !WARNING! NEVER PLAY THIS GAME AFTER MIDNIGHT!" I flicked my hand and the camera "Pppsssshhh".
I bring up my arm to check my watch anyways. It's 11:53. That warning was probably just to scare us. Under the objective there is a list of about twenty-five names. Must be the people who made the game. Strange, they don't usually put the contributor list on the back. Don't they usually have that at the end of the game? I popped the game disc into the console. Then I got back up, grabbed my controller and plopped onto the couch. What was the worst that could happen?

7 minutes later

3rd person POV
The gamers were laying back in their seats, on the verge of snoring. So far not a single one of them had encountered a single demon or anything at all. Not even a treasure box containing items or NPCs. So they just walked around the black and white screen tired, bored, and annoyed.
Jovenshire lets out a groan from his seat and mutters, draping his legs across over the armrests of his chair, hanging his arms off the other end "I think this game is busted." He was even more bored because he wasn't even playing. Just watching nothing happen.
"Well it is a really old game" Ian replied putting his controller down, stretching his arms behind his head, deciding just to rest until something happened.
A few of the gamers were almost falling asleep, when Mari exclaimed "Hey, what's wrong with my controller!?" while jiggling the joystick on her controller. The others did the same confused, as all their characters refused to move despite their attempts. Lasercorn got up to check if their controllers were plugged in properly. Reaching for the console, he grabbed for the wires connecting the controllers to the N64. As soon as he touched it, a jolt of lightning ran from his finger throughout his body, making him thud to the carpeted floor. He let out a groan, holding his head. The other gamers quickly spring from their seats to check on their friend.
"I'm fine" he groaned waving them off.
"Look what's happening now." Sohinki said pointing toward the TV.
Some red pixelated ooze starts to melt down the monitor, further frightening the tired group. The characters' small pixelated eyes flashed red, starting to move toward the center of the screen, breaking out of their corner barriers. Some of them seemed to morph and change into strange things, pulsating as much as the small pixelated forms could. Their movements were affecting the controllers as well, the joysticks being played by a phantom player.
They etched some long dripping words into the screen. "We warned you" They all slowly read. A few sparks popped around the room. Then there was just darkness as the power shorted out. A mix of gasps, curses and screams filled the once quiet room. The words had been burned into the TV screen, some smoke coming off the words, hissing like it had been branded. The whole group was silent, continuing to stare at the TV and the ominous words. No one dared to move at all. Everyone held their breath staring. All they could do was stare at those three words. "We warned you." It was so quiet you could hear an ant breath.
After a few minutes of this empty abysmal silence, Jovenshire broke the silence "Well, now we need a new TV." earning a cuff upside the head from Sohinki.
Mari walked over the light switch, trying to turn in on. But all she got were some small clicks as she flipped the switch.
Ian took out his phone and said with hints of nervousness in his voice "No worries, we'll just use our phones for light. We can always film tomorrow." He pressed the button that would normally turn on his phone light, but nothing happened. He did it again but got the same result.
After Lasercorn had risen from the floor, Sohinki nervously mumbled "Well ... as long as we stick together" he coughed then continued trying to sound braver, a little louder. "We can make it out as long as we all stick together." A moan is heard from outside the door.
Lasercorn jokes "Speak of the devil, there one is right now!"
Anthony shouts at him in a hushed tone "David! This is NO time for jokes! Come on guys we can't stay in here forever." He motions towards the door, putting a his index finger to his mouth. The others slowly followed him. Anthony opens the door, and it seems whatever creature that was moaning had disappeared. In its place was an adorable little cherub with huge anime eyes and petite little wings, maybe about a foot and a half tall. It held it's small hands behind it's back, smiling up at them. It wobbled a little innocently. A few of the gamers coo at the little creature, their fears dissipating. What was there to worry about? All there was here was an adorable little fairy.
It opened it's mouth as if to say something. But instead of an adorable little voice to match the fairy, it spat an inhuman hiss out. It's eyes were drained of all color and turned pure black and empty of any spark of life. A serpentine tongue escapes it's mouth, licking it's lips hungrily. Long spider legs sprung out of it's back. The spider legs grew longer and longer, whilst the thing's body stayed the same size, revealing a large crimson lizard tail hanging from it's backside. Soon it reached the ceiling, having to bend over to be able survey the occupants of the room. The gamers scream and quickly dive for the hallways away from the monster. It screams in a scratchy voice "STAY WITH ME! PLAY WITH ME!".
Jovenshire let out a yelp as the creature swings for him with its hand, now with lengthened nails and four foot long fingers. Luckily, he was narrowly able to dodge, the hand grazing his back, tearing his shirt slightly. It opens it's mouth again to reveal rows of jagged teeth. It howls ferociously at it's miss. It's next target wasn't as lucky. Ian tried to run into the hallway in front of him, but the creature cut off his escape, scooping him up into it's boney claw. The thing, now satisfied, started walking away, ignoring the rest. It nonchalantly lashes it's tail at Lasercorn, who was trying to follow it to aid Ian.
Lasercorn raises an arm towards the creature groaning a single word before he passed out from the impact. "Iaan" The other gamers had already escaped down the hallways separated from each other. Anthony and Jovenshire had gone down one hallway, Mari and Sohinki down another, and Lasercorn had been left to fend for himself alone.

Sohinki's POV
My feet pounded against the tile floor. Is that thing still behind me? I can still hear some footsteps behind me, but it only sounds like two feet. Noticing the creature was no longer behind me, I stopped to take a breath, putting my hands on my knees. After I got my breath back, I raised my head to look around. The entire hallway is pitch black. I hear some breathing sounds coming from beside me. Someone must have come down the hall with me "Who's there?" I ask, feeling safe for the moment
"Matt? Is that you?" A feminine voice answers. It's Mari!
"Mari!" I reach out to her and pull her into a hug, happy to hear her safe.
After the hug is broken Mari says "What the FUCK was that thing!?"
"I'm not sure but we better get out of here before it comes back for us."
She starts walking, but then stops. "But... What about the others" She asks in a concerned tone, fading into a whisper. Even though I hated to leave them, there was nothing we can do at this point. They'd obviously been scared of the monster as well and ran for the hills. They are likely on the other side of the building by now. For all I know, they could be outside and safe already.
"We'll just have to hope they can find their way out themselves" I replied solemnly, looking down at my feet. Mari doesn't respond. I can hear her start to walk down the hall again. I catch her hand before she gets any farther "Mari, you know our friends. They're strong. They will be able to find their way out. You just have to have faith in them."
A minute or so later she suggests "Hey, why don't we hold hands so we don't get separated. The hallway is so dark I can't even see you."
"Good idea" I agree within a second. A moment later I feel a her soft hand fall into mine. I blush and hold her hand tight. Mari is the sweetest girl I have ever known, yet strong when she needed to be. To add to that, she is beautiful, she practically glows. Everytime I see her, I just can't keep a smile off my face. It is a good thing to know she is okay and away from that monster... for the time being. Hopefully we don't run into any more monsters, I couldn't bear to see her get hurt.

Lasercorn's POV
Ugh, my head. I slowly push myself up from the ground, my body still aching from hitting the wall. I feel a chill run down my spine noticing I was alone. Not only was I alone in the Smosh HQ that is now probably is oozing with monsters, but that thing had gotten IAN! It took my Ian away from me. I better get out of here before the creature comes back for me. I gaze in the general direction that the monster took Ian. I clench my hands into fists, hard enough for my nails to pierce my skin, but I didn't care about that. If that beast had done anything to Ian I SWEAR it will feel my wrath!
A/n So my Aunt Jenny is reading this story as well, let's just say she has some colorful comments. Anything interesting she says I will put down here as an extra (just for the lawls) any way here it is: I wouldn't be blushing because I was holding hands, I would be blushing because I shit my pants! (I have to agree with her, if I saw this sort of thing in real life that probably would happen...) Also, in the "flashback" in the prop shop, I referenced another story that I was reading, with the doll named Emily. Well, it was a great fanfiction, but I must have accidentally deleted it off my follow list or something stupid. If you know what it was called please tell me, cause I want to give the writer credit for being awesome.
