A/N: This is not my first time writing Samurai, but it is my first time writing Megaforce. So forgive me if I'm off. I can't believe how popular this story is. :) Thank you all! Here is the second chapter. Enjoy!
This story takes place after the Samurai series, but during the Megaforce series, right after the episode "Prince Takes Knight."
Disclaimer: I own nothing from Power Rangers. Not Samurai. Not Megaforce. Not even half the plot, believe it or not. Only just a small section of it. Actually, maybe I own a bigger part of the plot than I think. Hmm…
Anyways…

Power Rangers: Across This New Divide

Chapter Two: The Yellow Legacy
Gia's hands twist and turn the knob connecting to her locker the next day. The others stand near her, behind her, but at the same time, trying to keep their distance. They can tell Gia is stressed about something. It's troubling her mind, but no one has the courage to go up to her and find out.
Except Troy.
The Red Ranger walks to up to Gia, worry evident in his face. "Gia?" She doesn't turn to him, nor does she stop what she is currently doing, that is, taking books out of her locker and putting books in her locker. "Gia, you can't hide it forever. Something's bugging you."
"No, there's not," Gia answers him stoically.
Troy, at this moment, knows that something definitely is wrong. Gia usually has a sarcastic, sassy attitude. Now, it appears that she has no attitude at all, which is her 'tough girl' act, as Emma puts it.
"Yes, there is, Gia," Troy retorts. "You know, we're a team for a reason. You don't have to put it all on yourself. Tell us. We're your friends."
Gia finally turns to him, her angry voice tone turned on, "Yeah? Well, sometimes your friends know when to back off and leave you alone."
And with this, Gia walks away without another word spoken from either side.
Troy just stands there, speechless by what Gia had just said, hurt by her attitude. Emma places a hand on his shoulder, unable to find the words to cheer Troy up.

It's after lunch now. Gia has been avoiding them all for the entire day, Emma included and Emma, keep in mind, is Gia's best friend and has been since they were five.
Gia's at Ernie's Smoothie Shop. Jake and Noah are standing in the doorway. Jake glances at Gia and then back at Noah, fear in his eyes. Noah motions the Black Ranger to just go. So without further ado from Noah, Jake approaches Gia, who is currently doing her homework.
"Hey, Gia," Jake says. No answer. "You want to talk about your problems, you know, I'm here for you. We all are."
"Leave me alone, Jake," Gia retorts, emotion hidden from her teammate.
Jake's smile starts to fade. "But…we're worried about you, Gia. You can tell us, you know."
"No, I can't, Jake!" Gia looses her temper and has finally lashed out.
Jake backs up faster than when he approached Gia, and the Smoothie Shop goes silent as Gia stomps out the door.
Jake makes a move to go after, but Noah holds him back, knowing that when Gia is mad, no one should ever go near her.

Gia's at her locker again, mad about what just happened with Troy earlier, and just now with Jake. Not mad at them. Mad at herself. She would never lash out at them on purpose.
While she is stewing in her own anger, a gentle hand is placed on her shoulder.
"Leave me alone, Emma!" Gia said, close to tears, throat constricted with emotion. She's about to cry and she doesn't want anyone to see.
"Close," the voice is not Emma's. "You're about three letters off." Gia turns around, aware that the tears are close to falling. It's Emily. "I saw what happened with Troy and Jake both. Actually, I only saw part of it with Troy and I was standing farther away that Emma was. She told what happened and what's going on with you today." Emily lowers her voice to near whisper. "You can talk to me."
"Of course I can," Gia sarcastically remarks. "You're my cousin."
"Why haven't you told them yet? About me being a Ranger?" Emily asks in the same gentle tone.
"Family first. That's how I always have been."
"Aren't they your family too? What about Emma? Could you at least tell her?" Emily asks her older cousin.
"No, but maybe if she had her memories back…" Gia started. "I wouldn't need to tell her."
"Mom erased her memories for her own safety. Don't blame me for that, G," Emily sounds like she's getting mad now. "You know that. But won't you at least tell Emma? She is like a sister to you. At least, that's what I recall from your emails."
Gia thinks it over. She really does. But then she answers, "No, I can't. I don't want her to be put in danger."
"She's already in danger," Emily replies quickly. Two, nearly three, years from arguing with her Samurai friends has led to her coming up with faster, yet sassier comebacks. "She's the Pink Megaforce Ranger, for crying out loud. But if you insist, then don't. But you should at least go apologize for the way you've been behaving today."
Gia nods, feeling better than before, but not by much.
As Gia walks away to go apologize to the others, Emily calls back, "And don't segregate yourself from them anymore. They're your friends. I've already seen enough of that from Jayden."
And she doesn't ever want to see it again.

The others are sitting in the courtyard.
"I can't believe Gia actually yelled," Emma said. "She never yells, except at the Monster of the Day. But she never yells at her friends."
"Well, she yelled at me," Jake replied, his head resting on his arms, which were resting upon a table.
Troy places a comforting hand on Jake's back. "She nearly yelled at me as well, Jake. But it'll be okay. She'll come around soon."
"How do you know that?" Noah asked.
"Gosei told us to have faith in our teammates, in each other. I trust Gia to come to her senses, no matter how long it takes," Troy replied, just as black boots walk to up the table. And the others look up to see Gia, her facial expression a very rare one.
Tears are in her eyes and some have fallen. She looks vulnerable, like she's ready to break apart at any time.
"I'm sorry," Gia said, softly and emotionally. "I didn't mean to hurt you guys. Something is bugging me, but I…I can't tell you. It's a personal matter involving family."
And they smile as Emma stands up. She holds her arms out, offering a hug to the usually tough Yellow Ranger. "All is forgiven," Emma says, and Gia takes the hug. "Don't worry. We won't ask anymore. We'll let you tell us when you're ready." The guys nod, agreeing.
Gia finally smiles at her friends' understanding, and Emily, off in the near distance, smiles as well. They are friends once more.
Troy's morpher goes off. Emily snaps out of her reverie when she hears it.
"Yes, Tensou?" Troy picks up, as Emily gets closer to hear.
"Monster at Rockslide Bay! Same one as yesterday!" Tensou replies.
Emily's eyes widen. 'The Nighlock is back!' She watches as the Megaforce Rangers race off to the location to meet the Nighlock.
Emily follows them.

At Rockslide Bay, the Rangers, with the exception of Robo Knight, have de-morphed, all six of them greatly injured and unable to stand up right away, not even Troy or Robo Knight.
"We must stand back up," Robo Knight says. "We cannot let him pollute the Earth."
The others just groan. Jake retorts, "We're just human, you know, and we're trying!"
The stone Nighlock, holds up his sword to slash Gia's head off. "Say your last words, Ranger!" he shouts triumphantly. "And remember that you were defeated by the Nighlock, Tierran!"
A little mechanical ape hits Tierran in the face, knocking him down, but not out, for a while. The six look back at the same Yellow Samurai as yesterday. The Samurai catches the ape before unsheathing her sword.
"You again!" Tierran shouts, losing hope just by the sight of his kind's enemy.
"That's right!" The Ranger jumps up and strikes Tierran in the shoulder. "It takes more than yesterday to slow me down."
He attacks and she blocks, sword sparks flying through the air. She injuries him in his arm again, and proceeds to spin her black power disk.
"Earth Slicer!"
Before she can throw it, a Mooger appears at thrusts its sword at her. She is forced to use her shuriken as a shield. She shoves him off and pushing her Slicer forward and knocks the Mooger down, giving her the time to observe her surroundings.
The Megaforce Rangers are lying on the ground, watching the battle unfold, in the distance. All around are not just Moogers, but also…
"Loogies, too?!" Emma exclaims. "She doesn't stand a chance!"
Watching her cousin fight, Gia remembers the secret she harbors, the reason she's so good at martial arts, and realizes that she never imagined that this day would happen, the day when she would get to see her cousin in action. Then she remembers that she is a Ranger as well, and that her cousin is struggling right now.
With her resolve made, Gia gets up. "Go, go, Megaforce!" She activates her card and morphs. "Megaforce Yellow!"
"Ready! Summon Battle Gear!" Gosei's voice sounds through the bay as the Tiger Claw appears in Gia's hand.
"Tiger Claw!"
And Gia charges. Giving a loogie a swift kick to the face, Gia flexes her body to strike down a Mooger from behind her. Emily strikes down a Mooger from behind her cousin and jump-kicks a Loogie from behind herself.
Both armies are retreating now, rather, they are backing up, afraid and not expecting this team-up.
Troy stands up as well, seeing this. "Come on, guys. Let's help!" The others behind him nod. "It's Morphin' Time!"
"Go, go, Megaforce!"
"Megaforce Red!"
"Megaforce Black!"
"Megaforce Blue!"
"Megaforce Pink!"
"Robo Knight!"
"Ready!" Gosei calls. The five charge at the two armies as Emily and Gia turn to Tierran.
"It's your turn!" Emily calls.
"No, it's not!"
"Yes, it is!" Gia retorts and pulls out her Power Card and lays it on top of her Tiger Claw.
"Yellow Land Power! Activate!" The two shout in unison.
"Ready!" Gosei calls.
"Dynamic Victory Charge!" The two Yellow Rangers charge at Tierran and strike him on either side.
Sparks are flying from Tierran, but he doesn't fall.
"No! It can't be!" he shouts. "I'm drying out already!" As he disappeared through a gap, along with the Moogers and the Loogies, or what remained of them, he yelled back, "I'll be back, Rangers!"
_M~E_G~A_F~O_R~C_E~_~S_A~M_U~R_A~I_
The Mega Rangers race toward a de-morphed Gia, who races toward them, the Yellow Samurai still morphed and following her.
"Great job, Gia!" Troy congratulates her. Gia gives him a sincere smile. "You too, Yellow Samurai." The Ranger girl nods in acknowledgement, who turns to Gia and nods.
Gia nods back, smiling and says, "Thanks. I have something to tell. It pertains to what I was hiding today."
The Yellow Samurai de-morphs and shows her civilian identity to the other Mega Rangers.
"Emily! What a pleasant surprise!" Emma exclaims and Emily smiles shyly. She turns back to Gia. "You knew it was her this whole time?" Gia nods, looking a little guilty. "How did you find out?"
"Well, her Ranger powers pass down from parent to first-born child, and since she is my cousin…" Gia started.
Troy interrupts. "So that's why you appeared to have seen her before." Emily nods in confirmation.
Gia turns back to Emily. "Why don't you do the honors, Em?"
"With pleasure," Emily says and flips out her Samuraizer. She draws a kanji in mid-air. "Symbol Power: Shield Release!"
She flips the symbol towards Emma, and in a flash, memories she didn't know she had come flooding into her mind.
"You remember now, Emma?" Gia asks.
Emma looks up, a hopeful smile on her face. "Yeah, I met you two when Gia and I were five and Emily was three, almost four. We hung out for seven more years, before Serena got sick and Emily had to take her place as the Yellow Ranger, and that's when I figured out your family secret."
Emily nods and continues, "Two weeks after that, Emma, we realized that if a regular civilian knew the family secret, they would be in big danger when the Nighlock revived, and so Mom was forced to erase your memories because of it."
"So, if Emma's memories were erased because she was in big danger, then how come Gia's memories weren't erased as well?" Jake asked.
"Were you paying attention at all, Jake?" Noah asked, clearly exasperated by his friend's lack of listening skills. "Emily clearly said that this was a 'family secret'. Since Gia is Emily's cousin, that means Gia's family too. Emma was not."
The others laughed at Jake's hurt and shocked look, while Gia remembered the other secret she kept hidden from the others, something Emily already knew. Well, she should know. She was there. But she kept her smile on, not wanting it to be too obvious.
"But Gia and I gave that Land Dynamic our all," Emily said, her smile fading as she realized the depth of the Nighlock's strength. "We need more power to beat this guy. I don't know whether you guys have a power-up mode yet or not, but I do. But I'll need to go back and get it, since I don't have it on me at the moment."
"Get what?" Robo Knight asked.
"The Black Box," Emily said before she and Gia, arm-in-arm, lead the others back to Ernia's for a victory goody.
It would give them hope for the future battles.
And she left it that.
But what were Loogies doing cooperating with Tierran? Was there an alliance between enemies going on? What were they in for?

A/N: Well? How'd I do? Too obnoxious? Too weird? Any mistakes? Tell me, please. That lovely review box isn't down there for nothing.
Sorry about the late update. I was on writer's block with this story for a while, but the new Megaforce episodes brought me back up to speed.
And someone makes a special appearance in the next chapter! Can you guess who it is?
