A/N:Whoa, 43 follows? I'm impressed, but then again I love both shows! I got Batman Beyond Season One for Xmas. Guess who's VERY happy. Yup. I love superhero shows with a passion...one day while watching DP, I was like, "Hey, why doesn't someone combine these two shows?" But no one else had. So I did. :D Time for the newest chapter. Sorry for four long months of waiting.

Chapter 6 Things get a little Inky

Somewhere, a little trouble was brewing, no, it was more like a little liquid was bubbling. The form morphed into that of a young woman with black-blue hair, blue skin and a dashing figure. A sly smile crept up her face as she watched the three figures talking and laughing.

"Hmm...how interesting. Danny Phantom is all the way over in Gotham City. I never would've guessed Vlad's little game was honestly going to lure the ghost kid over here! But perhaps he'll make a good tool." She whispered to herself as she melted into her usual form and oozed closer.

"I never would've guessed you were Danny Phantom if you hadn't been so obvious," Terry said to an annoyed Danny.

"Hey, the ghosts show up all the time, regardless of whether or not I want them to! Hey, is that some sort of liquid over there?" Danny asked, pointing at what looked like some ordinary black sludge.

Terry's eyebrows rose ever so slightly. "...No, it can't be...her. Danny, watch out!" Terry cried, just as the sludge threw itself at Danny, who turned invisible and dodged it.

"Whoa, what the heck was that?" Danny cried, just as the sludge solidified into a dark-haired woman.

"Danny Phantom...I knew you'd be in town," The woman said.

"I don't know who you are, nor what you want from me, but I don't work for bad guys!" Danny cried, shooting an ectoblast at her, which burned a hole right through her.

Inque frowned and then regenerated. "My, how rude. Don't you know how to have better manners, kid? Hmm...who's this other kid with you?"

Jazz cursed, wishing she'd brought some of her father's tools with her while Terry wished he'd at least have enough time to dart away and put on his costume, but there was no time.

"Are you in league with Ember? You're not a ghost, just what are you?" Danny cried, dodging blow after blow.

Inque smirked. "You can call me Inque. I'm an acquaintance of...your enemy, Vlad. He sent me here to deliver you a little message."

"Plasmius? What does that bastard want this time? Let me guess...he wants to murder my father and take my mother, right?" Danny snapped. "Well, I won't be his pawn in his twisted games!"

Inque laughed. "I like you. You've got a lot of spunk, kid. But as long as you remain enemies of Vlad, you and I are enemies. It's a good thing Batman isn't around. So long."

Then Inque vanished before their eyes.

"Who...the hell was that?" Danny asked.

"It's Inque. She's a criminal who's crafty at sneaking around. She's one of my enemies as Batman." Terry cursed. "What connection does this "Plasmius" have to you?"

Danny rolled his eyes. "I do not want to talk about it. First of all, we'd better go see what Ember's up to. Judging by the way the whole school was acting, it won't be long before Ember has all of this city under her control, too! I just hope Mom and Dad are all right!"

"There are ghosts loose in the city, Maddie! Let's go hunt them down!" Jack cried, arming himself with the proper ghost-hunting equipment.

"Jack, shouldn't we wait to do this until after Jazz and Danny come home? You're not still convinced that one of our children is a ghost, are you?" Maddie said.

"Well, Danny can't be a ghost...it must be Jazz. Why else would the Fenton Finder go off every time she's in the room?" Jack said.

"Jack, the Fenton Finder doesn't go off around her...it only goes off around...Danny. Jack...do you suppose...Danny is...?" She said in fear, wondering what could have happened to her little boy. He had been coming home awfully late lately, along with mysterious injuries that came out of seemingly nowhere and his friends were secretive too.

"What? Gee, you're right! It always goes off when Danny's around! Oh, Maddie, should we suck the ghost out of Danny?" Jack said. "I won't let a ghost control my son!"

"Jack...relax. I want to talk to Danny first. I don't want him thinking we're his mortal enemies." Maddie said comfortingly.

"All right, Maddie. Let's go out into town and find him and destroy the ghosts!" Jack exclaimed.

Maddie just sighed at her husband's excited nature and they both got in the Fenton van and took off, startling several of their neighbors.

"Those new neighbors of ours sure are weird," An old woman said to her husband.

"Who cares? Let's go listen to that wonderful singer Ember! Her voice is awesome," The old man droned, his eyes vacant.

"Yes, dearie. Let's go." The elderly woman agreed, as both stepped out of their houses in a trance-like state, walking with some of their neighbors to a place they wouldn't ordinarily go.

As Danny, Terry, and Jazz walked, they noticed that more people were wandering around hauling Ember posters and looked hypnotized.

"This is disturbing," Terry mumbled.

"Remember...when you come near her, you should not listen to her singing. You'll fall under her spell. You should cover your ears," Danny said.

As they got closer, they could hear the chants of "Ember, Ember, Ember!"

"Here it comes," Danny sighed, but before that could happen, a familiar van sped down the street towards them. Danny gasped.

"Oh, no! It's my parents! Quick, Jazz, before they decide to turn me into an experimental subject, hide me!" He snapped.

"Would telling them you're half-ghost really be that bad?" Terry questioned.

Upon seeing Danny's panic-stricken look, he relented. "I suppose you're right."

But Danny didn't have time. For his parents stopped upon seeing Jazz, and climbed out of the car, wielding various pieces of ghost-hunting equipment.

"Maddie, look, Jazz is being held hostage by the Ghost Kid! I'm gonna get him! Let go of my daughter, ghost!" Jack said, aiming a weapon at his son.

"Jack, no!" Maddie cried, startling Danny.

"What? Usually she's as gung-ho about hunting me down as he is," Danny whispered.

"We're not going to hunt him today," She protested.

"Why not, Maddie? The Ghost Kid is a nuisance!" Jack said.

"Because, Jack, have you not noticed? This boy looks just like our son! Danny?" Maddie said, coming towards her shell-shocked son, who backed away slightly, wanting desperately to turn invisible at this moment and sink through the ground.

"...Mom, Danny would never be a ghost!" Jazz said. "Have you lost your mind?"

"Danny, it's you, isn't it? You are our son, aren't you? Why didn't you tell us?" Maddie demanded.

Danny shook slightly. "...Mom, I..."

"No, young man, you will tell me everything, right now! Oh, and who's your friend?"

"I'm a friend of Danny's from Hamilton High. I'm Terry McGinnis and I work for Bruce Wayne."

"Nice to meet you, Terry. How long have you known, Jazz?"

"A while," She whispered.

"Mom, you don't understand, I..." Danny said.

"Son, I want the truth! How did you become half-ghost and why didn't you come tell us? For god's sake, Danny, I could've killed you! We could've killed our own son without realizing it!"

So Danny started to reluctantly explain about the lab accident and watched his parents' looks of horror and when he had finished, Maddie was on the verge of tears.

"Danny, did you honestly think we wouldn't accept you? You're our son!" Maddie said, hugging her ghostly son. "Danny, you're a bit cold."

"Sorry," Danny said sheepishly. 'I didn't think they would react like this.'
