Destiny Islands

On an island where there was a mountain with a waterfall, a small forest, a small cave, coconut trees, a tree-house, a small dock, and a beach with a wooden shack, there was a boy. He was lying on the beach near a wooden bridge that connected to a smaller island where a coconut tree with star shaped fruit known as Papou fruit grew with his eyes closed. His hands rested under his head while he enjoyed his midday nap. He had spiky brown hair and wore a dark blue and red jumpsuit under his black hoodie jacket with white lining and silvery pauldrons, along with a silver crown necklace that could be seen hanging around his neck. He also wore a pair of black fingerless gloves with white stripes forming an x sign on them and black baggy pants with a red colored pocket with black x's on each side. But the most notable part of his outfit was his shoes. Unlike the others, he wore a pair of large black and yellow shoes which appeared to be substantially larger than his feet and they had extra belts and zipper on each.

The boy's name was Sora, a boy who had been gifted with the ability to wield one of the most powerful weapons in existence, the Keyblade. He was a hero who had saved countless worlds twice from total destruction by Ansem the Seeker of Darkness, otherwise known as Xehanort's Heartless, and Xemnas, the leader of Organization XIII or Xehanort's Nobody.

When the news about Xehanort's return after the Organization XIII's defeat and how Sora's heart was connected to the missing Keyblade wielders of the previous generation reached his ears, both Sora and his friend Riku had been called by the former Keyblade Master Yen Sid to take the Mark of Mastery exam to become Keyblade Masters in anticipation of facing the new enemies they would likely have to fight in the future. But during their exams in the Realm of Sleep, Xehanort had trapped Sora within his own darkness and he almost succeeded in making him the 13th member of his new Organization XIII. Luckily for the spiky Keyblade wielder, Riku, King Mickey, and Lea had come to his rescue before the dark Keyblade Master could infuse his heart with his darkness.

However, in the end because Sora had failed to resist his own darkness, Riku was the only one who truly passed the exam and was thus acknowledged as a true Keyblade Master by Yen Sid. But despite all that had happened, Sora wasn't disappointed with his failure at all and always stayed optimistic like usual. In fact, he was very happy when he heard that his buddy had passed the test and became a Keyblade Master. Maybe he didn't succeed in sealing the last Keyhole of Sleep in the World That Never Was, but that didn't mean his efforts had gone to waste. During his exam in the Realm of Sleep, he had befriended Neku and his gang from Shibuya and the Dream Eater spirits which were more than just animal partners for him.

Remembering the happy moments with the spirits when he visited Traverse Town last time, a small smile appeared on his face until a familiar voice suddenly roused from his thoughts.

"I thought I would find you here again as usual." At this, Sora's eyes opened, revealing his sky blue colored irises. He quickly stood up, brushing off his pants from the sand and then turned around to see his silver haired buddy Riku walk over him with an amused expression on his face. "You really don't have anything to do besides sleeping, do you?"

"(Yawn) I'm just resting my eyes, Riku." answered Sora with a yawn as he stretched out his hands, making the silver haired Keybearer chuckle.

Riku then crossed his arms and raised one of his eyebrows at the spiky brunette Keybearer. "You know what? Sometimes I don't understand what Kairi sees in you, what a lazy bum."

"Hey! What does that mean!?" Sora felt slightly insulted by Riku's statement before he asked another question. "Anyway, what brings you here, Riku?"

Without answering, Riku reached into his pocket and took out a pendant. He then tossed it to Sora who caught it easily with his right hand. "It's a gift from Yen Sid, Sora." answered Riku simply.

"A gift?" Curious, Sora then took a closer look at the pendant and realized that it wasn't just a mere pendant. It was a summon charm since its design was similar to Chicken Little, Stitch, Genie, and Peter Pan's, save for the image of a roaring white eyed dark colored dragon with a dark blue and violet background. "Riku, this is a summon charm!" He exclaimed before looking back at Riku, "But where's yours?"

"Here." The silver haired Keybearer then dug into his other pocket and took out his. Appearance wise it had the same design as Sora's, except the image wasn't a dragon. It was a furry red beast which had a mix of a lion's and a wolf's face and possessed two long horns on its head with a fiery background, "This one is Ifrit while yours is Bahamut, Sora."

Like a child who just gotten candy from his parent, Sora looked at the charm with awe in his eyes. But then he realized something: Why did Yen Sid want him to have a new summon charm? It wasn't like that he didn't appreciate it, but didn't he fail the Mark of Mastery exam? He could understand if the wizard gave Riku one as the gift for passing the exam.

"But Riku, why did Yen Sid give this to me? I understand if you got this in the first place, but-"

"It's true that you failed, Sora." Riku cut him off and then placed his left hand on his waist as he gave the spiky Keybearer a reassuring smile, "But Yen Sid said that if you were serious about your resolve, then maybe you'd need an edge. So that's why he gave you one too."

Even though he had failed, Master Yen Sid still had high hopes for him and Riku. Looking at the summon charm with narrowed eyes, Sora mentally vowed to himself that this time he wouldn't let him down and he wouldn't make the same mistake twice. He would never let his own darkness get the best of him again.

"So…Swhat are you planning to do with this new journey of yours, eh?" Riku's question had brought Sora out of his trance as the latter turned to the silver haired Keybearer who was looking at him with an arched eyebrow, "You surely don't intend to just think about it while taking a nap all day, do you?"

As if his words had hit right on the target, Sora scratched his head sheepishly in embarrassment, "Actually you just read my mind, Riku."

At his answer Riku sighed in defeat, already figuring out that Sora would have answered like that. "Well, I better get back too." He then walked up to the boat parked near the dock that he used to get to the island. But before leaving, Riku gave Sora a playful smirk. "But don't say that I didn't warn you if you turned into a fat Chocobo someday, okay?"

"Hey! At least fighting the Heartless, Nobodies, and Dream Eaters wouldn't make me fat!" replied Sora with slight anger, but Riku just laughed, finding his buddy's reaction quite amusing as he started rowing his boat. When his silver haired friend was finally out of Sora's sight, the spiky Keybearer crossed his arms and frowned.

"Geez, sometimes his sense of humor annoys me." Sora said to himself before he lay down again and then put his hands under his head. Staring at the blue sky with two seagulls passing by, he then closed his eyes in thought and let a gust of wind move some of his spiky locks.

'But Riku was right though. Where should I start first?'

Halkeginia alTristain's Academy of Magic

Halkeginia, a world of magic located somewhere in the universe. In this world, the creatures, mages and magic that normally existed in fairy tales were real. Like the real life medieval era, this world consisted of many kingdoms ruled by either kings or queens over their own respective lands and the society here was divided into two levels: the blueblood nobles/aristocrats and the commoners/plebeians. However, the only difference here was that the former had access of the magic while the commoners did not. In a nutshell, having magic here equaled power.

One of these kingdoms was the Kingdom of Tristain where one of the most well-known academies of magic was located, the Tristanian Academy of Magic.

On the academy's grounds, many students were gathered around a teacher standing before them. Their uniforms consisted of a white collared shirt, a dark purple long cape, a yellow round badge with a pentagram symbol on it, a pair of long dark gray trousers and shoes for boys in contrast to a skirt, a pair of long stockings and shoes for girls and obviously wands since they were mages. Their teacher on the other hand wore a long dark bluish purple garb with white linings which gave him more of a priestly appearance than a mage. Also instead of a wand, the bald bespectacled teacher used a long wooden staff.

Currently the school of magic was holding a yearly ceremonial event known as the Familiar Summoning Ritual. As its name suggested, the ritual was a sacred ceremony where the students had to call forth the magical beings which represented their affinity using the summoning spell.

"Today is the day of your summoning." announced the teacher to the young mages. "This is the first exam of your second year, as well as the sacred day of your first encounter with your familiar spirit who you will spend the rest of your life with as a part of an aristocratic family."

Among the students, there was one female student who seemed a bit nervous as she looked at her wand. Compared with the other students, she had unusual long pink hair that went past her shoulders and a rather short stature.

This girl's name was Louise Francoise Le Blanc de La Valliere…aotherwise referred to as Louise the Zero by her classmates.

"I can hardly wait to see how great of a familiar spirit you will summon." said a voice behind Louise which made her flinch a bit and turn to see another girl wearing a mocking smirk on her face. Compared to Louise, this girl was the total opposite of the young pink haired mage. She had long red auburn hair and tan skin and a tall well-endowed figure, especially on her chest where some of her buttons were left undone and clearly exposed her cleavage.

"Urrggghh…rjust leave me alone, Zerbst!" replied Louise in annoyance as she turned away from her. The red haired girl however just giggled while covering her mouth, clearly enjoying the reaction she got from Louise.

The girl was Kirche Augusta Frederica von Anhalt-Zerbst or Kirche the Ardent, the queen of beauty or one could say the onee-sama of the school.

The ceremony started first with one student summoning a floating purple eyeball creature known as a Bugbear as his familiar. The summoning then continued on with a chubby student successfully summoning an owl, a blond haired student whose uniform was slightly customized with laces and frills and had a rose as his wand got a huge mole, a blonde haired girl whose bangs were stylized in drills received a (probably normal) frog, Kirche summoned a big red lizard which had its tail on fire known as salamander, and a blue haired girl with glasses who used a staff instead of a wand ended up with a blue dragon much to everyone's surprise.

"Have we gone through everyone?" The teacher questioned the students as they familiarized themselves with their magical creatures.

Kirche was the one who answered him first. "Not yet, Professor Colbert. Miss Valliere is the only one left." The redhead then looked around to find the student in question hiding behind the crowd of taller students.

When it was finally Louise's turn, some students if not almost every one of them began to whisper among themselves about the pink haired mage.

"It's Louise the Zero."

"What is she going to summon?"

"I'm sure she can't summon anything. It'll be another explosion and that will be it."

Ever since her first year in the academy, Louise had been known for always making explosion every time she cast a spell even though she already followed the instructions properly, thus earning her the nickname 'Louise the Zero' for always having a success rate of zero in casting spells. However, despite the mockery, taunts, and insults she always got from her classmates, especially from Kirche, she always kept trying harder and harder. This ritual would prove that she wasn't a Zero and a failure mage as they thought.

"You said that you can summon something greater than this boy, right Louise?" taunted Kirche while showing off her salamander in front of Louise.

"Naturally." replied Louise uncaringly. Her right hand holding her wand was shaking a bit before she began her chant.

"My servant who lives somewhere in the universe…"

Back on the Destiny Islands

Sora was still lying on the beach, not changing his position at all as he kept trying to figure out where he should start his journey. His train of thought was interrupted all of a sudden when he noticed a strange green light appear right in front of him and form some kind of magical circle with runes and a pentagram symbol in the center.

"Huh?! What the!?" Surprised, the spiky Keybearer immediately stood up and tried to jump away from the circle, but an invisible wall around the magic circle had blocked his path from escape.

" My servant who lives somewhere in the universe…" came a girl's voice from the magic circle. Sora started to feel uneasy at this as he looked around to find the source of the voice.

"What? Hey, who's there? Show yourself!" called out Sora who was ready to summon his Keyblade anytime should an enemy want to give him a surprise attack. But instead, he only heard the continuation of the girl's chanting.

"Oh sacred and beautiful familiar spirit…"

"I desire and here I plead from my heart…"

"Familiar? Hey, who are you and what the heck is a familiar?!" asked Sora, his patience had started to reach its limit. But the voice kept chanting on.

"Answer to my guidance and bring forth my familiar!"

The next thing the Keybearer knew was he felt his feet felt heavy as if someone or something was holding them. Looking down, his eyes widened in shock when he realized he was being pulled inside the circle. With all of his strength, Sora struggled to break free, but the sheer force of the magic circle was too strong. In mere seconds, almost half of his entire body had already swallowed inside the circle.

"What…Wwhat is this thing? Riku…! Kairi…! Someone, anyone…!" The Keybearer tried to call for help but he was alone there and Riku was already on the mainland. As the circle began to pull in the last part of his head, Sora let out a loud cry.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"

With Riku

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"

"Sora!?" Riku, who just gotten off from his boat, quickly turned around to the island when he heard Sora's cry which was loud enough for him to hear from such a distance. Without wasting any time, he got in his boat again and then rowed it as fast as he could. Just from how he had cried out, the silver haired Keybearer could tell that something not good had happened to Sora.

However, when he returned, instead of Sora, Riku found a scorch mark where he had last seen Sora that resembled the magic circle that had sucked in the spiky Keybearer. Sweeping the sand aside in hopes of finding any traces of his buddy, the silver haired teen frowned and gritted his teeth.

"Great! I just left him for less than ten minutes and something happened!" He exclaimed angrily as he curled his right hand into a fist and then punched the ground hard to let go of his anger. It took almost a minute before Riku could finally calm himself down.

'I better tell Master Yen Sid about this!' thought Riku as he made his way back to the mainland.

How was that for the first chapter? I hope it wasn't too bad although a bit short for me. But I'll try to make it longer in future chapters.

R&R and no flames, okay?
