But I Don't Like Sleep

"What are you doing up?" Ten asked, sliding over to make room for Donna on the bench in the TARDIS console room. She was dressed in pair of comfortable purple lounge pants and a black t-shirt with her hair piled messily on top of her head. Had Donna not responded, Ten would've sworn she had been sleep walking.

"I could ask you the same... I can't sleep. It's weird considering how exhausting running from certain doom with you is."

"Is your room not comfortable? There are probably a million rooms in here."

"No, it's fine, I just feel a little restless is all. What's your story?"

"It's 907 years long- do you really have time for that?"

Donna laughed and shook her head a little "That's not what I meant, Spaceman! Why are you still up?"

"Time Lords don't need as much rest as you humans," Ten waved his hand dismissively.

"Yeah, but you know we aren't going anywhere until I get a good rest and I don't think I've seen you rest for a minute in the last couple days."

"Ah, it's all about go, go, go! No time for sleep! Allons-y, Donna."

"Don't lie to me, Doctor."

"I'm not-" Donna stood up off the bench and crossed her arms. There would be no lying about this matter. "When you've seen all I have, it has effects. Nightmares and whatnot. It's fine, really."

Donna sat back down and pulled Ten onto the bench as well. "You mean to tell me you have nightmares so bad that you can't bear to sleep?" Ten shrugged apologetically. "Alright, here's what we're going to do: TARDIS sleepover. We'll bring blankets and pillows out here and we'll talk about things and places and how I'm brilliant, and then if you fall asleep and have a nightmare I'll wake you up and you'll be fine. Sound good? Of course it does."

"You really are quite brilliant, Donna Noble." Ten replied looking rather grateful.

Donna hugged the Doctor, then stood up and patted his head, "You wouldn't be so bad yourself if you help me find the extra blankets."
