Disclaimer: I don't own Percy Jackson (silently walks off to cry)

PERCY POV

I smiled. Today was the day I would finally propose to Annabeth. I had waited for this day when the entire Giant War was over. Now, we were both twenty one.

I knocked on the door of Athena's cabin.

"Yes?" Malcolm, Annabeth's half-brother answered the door.

"Hello!" I smiled at him. I was so excited, but so nervous at the same time.

"Where you looking for Annabeth?"

I grinned. "I'm going to propose to her."

Malcolm suddenly looked grim. "I think she's at the beach."

"Thanks for the help," I replied as I started towards the beach.

As I neared the beach, I started hearing kissing noises. I looked over and saw Terrence and a blonde girl, probably a daughter of Aphrodite. I shook my head in disgust.

Terrence was my half-brother, personally claimed by Poseidon after having crossed the border. He was my age, and he had been chased by a hellhound, which I killed. However, Terrence had made it seem like he had killed it, and he was hailed as a hero. We were still in the Giant War, and in the final battle, as my father and I were killing the last giant, my father turned away from a split second, and when he turned back, Terrence was standing triumphant over the dead giant. I was lying on my back a few meters away. What had happened? He had pushed me out of the way.

It did make me wonder something though. Since he was my age, why couldn't it have been him who had to kill Kronos, who had to make the decision to save Olympus? I shook it off as I continued to the beach.

"Oh Terrence," the girl moaned. I stopped abruptly. I knew that voice. I headed back to the pair, and crouched behind some bushes.

"Annabeth," my mouth dropped open in shock. "Date me, and ditch that loser of a demigod?"

"Yes. Of course!" It was now when I revealed myself.

"Gods Annabeth, I didn't know you hated me that much!" She stepped away from Terrence, gasping in surprise.

"This isn't… This isn't what-" I cut her off.

"Save your words for someone who actually cares. I was going to propose, see?" I showed her the box, which had a ring inside, a simple golden band with a diamond carved in the shape of a trident and an owl combined. Percy+Annabeth=Forever was engraved on the inside of the ring. I had worked long hours at an arcade to earn the money to buy it. And let me tell you, it wasn't cheap.

I threw it on the sand as Annabeth picked it up. Tears weren't even falling down her face. She just shrugged. "Oh well. I only dated you for the fame, I hope you realize. After all, we're the children of enemies."

I walked away, trying to hide my tears, but I eventually ended up running to my cabin.

Dear Chiron, the Seven (not Annabeth), Nico Di Angelo, Thalia Grace, Clarisse La Rue, the Stolls, Katie Gardner, Will Solace, Juniper, Grover, Tyson and Rachel Elizabeth Dare,

I'm leaving camp. It seems like no one wants me here except for you guys. Goodbye. I'll always remember you. You're the only one who seem to care about me, and the only ones I'll miss. I'll never forget you. I love you all.

To Annabeth: I truly thought that I'd loved you. You were my world, my soul, my everything. But you just dumped that for Terrence. I hope you're happy with him.

Signed,

Percy Jackson, Forgotten Hero

I walked out of Camp Half-Blood's borders, and I vanished in a flash of bright white light. I was taken away, by a force, older than the Titans and the Primordials combined, and stronger.
