Author's Note

So hey everyone, it's me! I know you probably all want to kill me for not updating in like, over a year. Firstly, I want to apologise and say that I'm really sorry. Sometimes, real life gets in the way and stuff like fanfiction can get very tricky. Then there was also the fact that I was going my final year of high school so with all of that going on, I have to admit that this story was the last thing on my mind!

I do plan to keep working on this story. But I've realised why I've gotten writer's block. I started this story just after seeing the movie, and we had basically nothing in terms of how old the characters were etc until the novel came out. So after the novel came out, I got sort of stuck because the stuff that I was writing was no longer canon.

So basically, I'm going to be redoing this story. I'm not going to delete this version, just slowly reupload chapters, so that way you will get notifications when I do upload new chapters. In saying that, I'm going to be taking down the old chapters. I started writing this story when I was like what, 14 or 15 years old? So I have to say, it's not my best work. But don't worry! I'll be back with more Melanie and Chuck very soon.

Some changes I plan to make include Melanie's age for a start - she will likely be the same age as Chuck in the new version. I'm also going to research more on Vulcan Specter and its pilots before I make any firm decisions there.

Chapter 1, if you back at it now, has been edited. The next chapter will replace this author's note, and then it'll just be chapters from then on!

In the meantime, there are some awesome Pacific Rim fics that you should check out - TheLokiExperience just reuploaded "Chasing The Rabbit", and BeyondTheHorizonIsHope is writing an awesome Herc/OC fic called "We Were Gods". So go give them some love!
