The light of the forest dispelled the darkness that nipped at the empty sub-consciousness of child that slept within the shadows of nature, "You're finally awake, Moyashi."
"Shut up, BaKanda," The child muttered as he tackled to older boy to the floor, "I told you to call me Allen!"
"Haha, yeah right, maybe when you pass me in height I will!" The older laugh as Allen tried to make a serious face, though it ended up as a puffed-up pout.
"Kanda—." Allen whined as he leaned in to kiss the older boy.
"Kanda, Allen, Tiedoll is calling for you two to come home now!" Lenalee called them, her long hair loosely held by a single ribbon.
Allen immediately got off Kanda and distanced himself from the older boy, without a word more, he quickly ran home.
"Lenalee...you waited until that moment before showing up, didn't you?" Kanda called the blushed girl out as she stared defiantly at him, "You're not the only one in love, Kanda."
He watched as his childhood friend walked away, before deciding to follow.
"What do you mean Allen has can't go home?" Daiysa yelled as he questioned Tiedoll, "You know as much as I do that he looks forward to going home every year! But now you say that he can't?!"
"Daiysa, you're not helping the matters by getting angry with Tiedoll, please, calm down." Lenalee argued as she glanced at Kanda as he entered the house in the middle of the conversation.
"Bullshit, Lenalee, how can I be calm when Allen is being denied the one thing he looked forward to the most!" Daiysa slammed his fist into the wall when he saw Allen sitting quietly at the dining table, "He's had enough to deal with, without us making it worse!"
"Daiysa, the old man probably has a reason as to why he won't allow the Moyashi to go home this year, so listen to Lenalee and calm down." Kanda stated calmly as he sat beside Allen.
"You don't get it Kanda, he can't EVER go home!" Daiysa yelled as he sent heated glares toward Tiedoll, who refused to make eye-contact with his son, "And Tiedoll won't even give us a reason!"
"What?!" Kanda jumped from the table, oblivious to the pained expression on Allen's face.
"I told you, I can't tell you anything other than Allen can't go home again." Tiedoll spoke softly as he felt like he was betraying his children with every secret he kept from them, "I'm sorry."
"Guys, that's enough, you are practically adults now, so act like the 17 years olds you are!" Lenalee yelled as she started crying.
"Lenalee..." Daiysa sighed as he sat down on the couch, refusing to look at Tiedoll completely.
Suddenly, Allen stood up from the table and left through the sliding glass door, heading straight for his spot in the forest.
'They think and talk, but they don't understand... Not even Yu can fully understand what it feels to have the only thing of "home" ripped from you're dying existence.' But even as Allen sat under the trees that made the light of the sun a spotted pattern upon the ground, he didn't cry.
Even as his soul screamed for someone to save him, not a single tear fell.
And they never will.
