A/N: Err I dont know what to say guys! I'm sorry. Shenny has really lost steam and I was going through a lot of shit. I still am. This is a revised draft that was chilling on my computer. I think I'm gonna keep writing though. Its not a promise (IM SORRY) but I'm gonna try. This is harder to get into now that I've been out of the fandom for so long. If anyone is still following this...I deeply apologize and I hope you enjoy.

The next day wasn't any better. She woke up late. Had to ditch the coffee, her boss screamed at her, and she gave him her two weeks notice.

She started filming in a couple weeks anyway. She would be fine until then. She didn't think about Sheldon all day or the problem, in fact she forgot. So when she got home and threw her bag down, she was pretty surprised when he knocked. Her shirt was halfway off and she groaned.

Not right now Sheldon. I am freaking exhausted. She pulled the shirt back on and opened the door. "What do you need sweetie?"

"I have brought the food. I believe you promised we would talk." She sighed.

"Come in, set up the food, I'm gonna take a quick shower okay?"

"That would be fine."

"Wasn't asking if it was." She mumbled kind of angrily. She showered as quickly as possible, changed into shorts and a tank then met Sheldon in the living room. He was distributing the food. She smiled at him; she wouldn't mind spending time with him. The shower definitely helped her feel better

She wouldn't mind coming home from work and seeing him, everyday. She rolled her eyes at herself.

"So Shelly, what's the deal?" She sat down and grabbed her plate.

"Don't call me Shelly. I believe you said we would talk about changing our relationship paradigm."

Oh God. She groans. She can't just change their whole relationship because she has a crush, because Sheldon is curious.

"One date?" The words slip out of her mouth before any coherent thought, besides her telling herself this is a bad idea, could form.

"If that is all you would like, but I believe you would prefer more." He smiled at Penny, and she caught it in her peripherals.

"Already full of yourself, huh? Or should I say always?" She chuckled a little then sighed. "Everything will change between us. We won't be able to stay best friends."

"If our date is successful we will be more than best friends, but we will never stop being that." He said and Penny bit her lip worried about what this could do to them.

"Things with Leonard really went downhill." She muttered.

"I am not Leonard. I won't fail."

"…but what if I do?" She whispered, scared to say it.

Sheldon laughed, he actually laughed! "Penny you are one of the most successful people I know. You are dedicated. You don't like to give up. Sure, you may have dropped out of community college, and you don't have a Doctorate, but you followed your dream. You're going to be a star. That counts for a lot. I believe in you. You know I always have."

"Aw, sweetie. That's so sweet." She gushed then mentally made the decision. "One date. If we aren't compatible, we call it quits, stay friends, and never try to be romantic again."

"I agree to those terms. Should I write up a contract?" She laughed and rolled her eyes.

"No. No contracts." She said quickly.

"Well, for this alright, but if we were to enter into a romantic relationship—"

"Sheldon, I don't want to talk about that. We shouldn't until we know for sure."

"Fine. I believe we should go out on Friday. I'll be here at eight thirty, be ready."

"Am I driving?" She asked and Sheldon looked down, embarrassed.

"Yes, you are."

She smiled at him, "Alright." They turned on Revolution and began eating.

"Now the food is cold." Sheldon grumbled and headed to the microwave. Penny kept eating, she liked cold Chinese food.

She couldn't concentrate on the show. She kept thinking about a relationship with Sheldon. Well…he was practically her boyfriend. They did everything together. They ate dinner together. They did laundry together. They knew what each other liked, and disliked. They watched TV together all the time. They had arguments. Knew each other like they knew their own self. Most of all they were best friends.

All that was missing was sex and kissing…and Sheldon initiated the dating part but some people change after you get in a relationship with them.

Friends are nice. Friends are constant.

Howard changed, for the better, but still. Leonard changed when he was with Stephanie. She changed when she was with Curt.

She needed to stop fixating on it. The more she focused on it the more she might try to sabotage herself. She watched the show more intently, but realized it just made her head hurt.

"What's wrong, Penny? You barely touched your food." Sheldon pointed out as he was cleaning up the table.

"Oh, uh, I'm not that hungry." She said and headed to the fridge to store it.

"You're distracted. Should I leave?" He stood and she looked at him.

She smiled lightly. "I think you should I'm just worn out. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night and work was killer."

"I will see you at a later time then Penny." He made his way to the kitchen hugged her awkwardly then left.

This wasn't going to be easy for her.

Sheldon felt uneasy. Penny was usually a ball of energy (after 11 AM) and today she seemed so far away.

He walked across the hall and Leonard was on the couch, staring at his phone. "What happened? You're home early." He said as Sheldon walked in.

"Penny is exhausted from today's events. She needs rest. May I ask what you are doing?"

"Well, Alex has been ignoring me. I should wait until Monday but I wanted to explain things. I don't expect her to forgive me, especially judging from this nasty voice mail she left me after she left Penny's." He played it so Sheldon could hear.

"Leonard, you are a disgusting excuse for a human being. I mean I've dated some scummy guys but you're at the top of the damn list! Using me to get back at an ex, who is clearly not into you, might I add, is just pathetic. Do us both a favor and lose my number. You're lucky I didn't want to cause more of a scene at Penny's. I would have slapped you so hard you wouldn't even recognize me…or Penny!"

"I just want to apologize, not try to get her to back with me. I don't think I'm ready for a real commitment yet. I have my fair share of…growing to do." Leonard spouted and Sheldon snickered.

"That you do." He responded and Leonard shot him a glare. Sheldon dropped his smile, "that was funny. Anyway, just wait until you see her on Monday and explain it properly. I'm sure she will still hate you after."

"Thanks Sheldon." Leonard said, with sincerity. He knew he was just trying to help. To be honest, he was getting better at social interaction. "Is Penny still mad?"

"She didn't show any signs of anger…just distracted." He shrugged.

Leonard worried about their relationship for a minute, but looking back on their interactions he knew they would get over whatever it was.

And Sheldon didn't seem too bothered.
