The wedding was incredibly beautiful.

It took place sis months after the proposal.

Big, big party at the Plaza. Sango was a vision in her dress – my design. The bridesmaids were actually good looking too. Rin had designed the dresses, following the pattern I used on the Bride's dress.

They flew to Bora-Bora and spent a month there for their honeymoon.

We didn't have time to see Rin's engagement ring. Or her wedding, for that matter.

Right after Sango and Miroku's wedding, Sesshoumaru took her to spend some time in his house in England. They came back married. Izayoi was very hurt at first, with the idea that he would elope. Mr. T convinced her is was romantic rather than inconsiderate.

Don't worry, I got my diamond too.

Well, first, I got the Stick's diamond.

Turns out, after Inuyasha broke up with her, she didn't want to return the ring. Said something about how he made her wait three years for a wedding that never happened. So she just went ahead and kept it.

And it turns out Inuyasha wasn't ok with it. So he had Miroku contact one of the many shady guys he knew. And guess what? They planned a robbery.

The guy had broken into the Stick's house and took the ring from her vault.

When I asked how in the world he had managed to pass through her security system and into her personal vault, Miroku just said he couldn't give me details.

That was the thing he was talking about that day at the park. The man had given him the ring that morning.

So I ended up having the ring. Inuyasha took it to Tiffany's (where he had gotten it in the first place) and made it into a necklace.

You didn't think I was gonna accept a second-hand ring, did you?

No. He made it into a necklace. A beautiful one. Nothing flashy, but very elegant. He gave it to me a week after we got together, at my place, while we were naked. I was actually in the bathtub. He got out, wrapped a towel around his waist, and went to get it from his jacket, back in my room.

I had my eyes closed, feeling the bubbles against my skin, when he clasped it around my neck.

When I asked why he had given it to me, he shrugged and said it was just a reminder that all he had felt for her one day couldn't hold a candle to what he felt for me.

He got very lucky that weekend, needless to say.

The second diamond, the most important one, came in very risky circumstances.

We were in Monaco for New Year's. He rented a small yacht, just for the two of us. I was enjoying the clear waters of the magnificent ocean when he swam to me, kissed me soundly and flashed me The Smirk.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing. Just happy we're here."

Then he took my hand in his, underwater.

"I love you."

I smiled at him.

"I love you too. Thanks for this, it's incredible."

"What is?"

"This, this vacation. I feel like a princess."

"Yeah?"

That Smirk again. I was getting suspicious.

"Are you up to something?"

"Me? No, why?"

"You're Smirking a lot. You only do that when you're up to something."

"I'm not up to anything." He kissed me again and slipped the ring on my finger. Under the water. In the sea.

He could so easily have dropped it! I get nervous just thinking about it.

You can imagine my face when I raised my hand to look and found this gorgeous ring in there.

I wasn't a single huge diamond. It was a big one and six small ones.

I can't explain. I just know it's wonderful.

I looked at him, eyes huge.

"What do you say?"

"What do I say to what?" I laughed, nervously.

He pulled me closer and suddenly the Smirk was gone.

"About being mine forever. Not that you aren't already. But just letting everybody know."

I had to make an effort to keep myself from drowning.

"Will you marry me, baby?", he whispered.

I looked in his eyes. The scenario was just magical, the water under his face, the lights of the houses and buildings back at she shore, the very air of Monaco.

And him. This man that had appeared so suddenly and made me his, since the first time I bumped into him.

I smiled and shrugged.

"What do I get out of it?"

He smiled and made me wrap my legs around him.

"I know you like shoes, so we can arrange that."

"Hmm. Interesting." I hugged him by his neck too, watching my diamonds sparkle against the light.

"I also know you like me. A lot."

"Yeah, that's true."

"So that's in the package too."

I sighed and he watched my face.

"I guess it's a good deal, then."

He lifted his eyebrows.

"Is that a 'yes'?"

"It's an 'of course'."

And then we christened the rented yacht.

He let people know (not the important people. We called those) in a funny way. It was the next day, we were back at the hotel pool, that had this amazing ocean view. I was using the shower, he was sitting in a stretcher behind me.

He snapped a picture when I had my left hand over my hair, while the water fell on me. He focused on the ring and blurred the rest, and then he posted it online with the caption "Mine".

I didn't know if I should feel mad or proud. It was a great picture, and he had captured a really flattering angle of my figure. But I was only wearing a bikini.

I mean.

It was funny. The photo was reproduced like a hundred times over by people, magazines and a few tabloids.

So I couldn't be mad at him.

Jakotsu flipped out. He smiled, screamed like a girl and hugged me tight when I got back, and then he said we had to go shopping, because I had to buy new lingerie for my new man.

Kouga scoffed. I ran into him right before he left for Washington again (he was on a case in the city), and when I denied his dinner (at his place) invitation, he asked me why. I told him I was with Inuyasha now, and showed him my ring. He just smiled like I had told him he was awesome and assured me it wouldn't last, because he was going to make me his wife sooner than I expected.

It was a good thing he was on his way out of the city. Inuyasha didn't find it funny when I told him.

Anyway.

My wedding was beautiful. The Kardashians were there! My dad was going to give me away, but that made Sota sulk, so I had dad on my right, Sota on my left.

Sota loves Inuyasha, you see. Thinks he's awesome and so cool (which he is), but when I kissed his cheek and took Inuyasha's hand at the altar, he punched him in the shoulder. It was supposed to be a joke, but it went stronger than he anticipated. People laughed, but Inuyasha complained about the pain lingering there for two days.

He whisked me away to an island I can honestly cannot point out in the map. It's somewhere near Australia, but I'm not sure where exactly. I just know it had clear blue waters, white sand, an amazing hotel and a lot of nakedness.

He kept referring to me as "my wife" to people. "My wife needs some towels", "I'm taking my wife to dinner", "Scotch for me and wine for my wife, please."

And whenever he touched me, he used strength. Like he held my hand as if I was going to leave if he didn't. When he kissed me, his lips would press very hard on my own. When he hugged me, I could feel his heart beating against his chest.

"Thanks for bumping into me", he said after we finished moving into our new place.

I live in a Park Avenue penthouse now, bitches. I have a closet exclusively for my shoes. Make peace with it.

.:.

I count to ten again. Taking deep breaths, and letting the air out slowly. I cannot handle this right now.

"Do you know how many things are missing here? It's a very simple list, Inuyasha, and yet you manage to forget the most important things on it!"

"Since when are cherries that big of a deal anyway? Who the hell likes those things?"

"Your godson does. A lot. And I have to add them to his cake, because the baker refused to, for some weird reason. You should talk to Miroku about his caterer."

"Well, put anything red on top of the damn cake. He's a kid, he's not gonna know the difference!"

"I don't know why you think you can memorize the lists, when it's clear you can't. I do not have time to keep going to the store with you, you know? I have a lot to do today, all those little clothes to organize!"

"And I don't have time to keep running there to buy stuff like cherries. I also have a bunch of things to do, I'm in charge of the racing committee."

Another deep, deep breath.

"You know what? Forget it. I'll go to the store and get the cherries. But don't you dare touch that mousse! It's for the party."

He dropped the granola bar (covered with chocolate sauce and little chocolate sprinkles, so what's even the point, amiright?) he was eating.

"No no. You stay put. I can't risk you buying anything else. You'll ruin the whole schedule if you go. I'll just run there and get the damn things."

"I'm not gonna buy anything else, Inuyasha! I'll just run there, get the cherries and then I'm back!"

"Right, and my name's Earnie. I know you, babe. Today is this big sale on appliances. Besides, that girl is back from having her baby. You're going to ask for pictures and then the whole party is going to be ruined. Miroku will kill me this time."

We both went. We argued the whole time. But then he kissed me when we were waiting to cross the street, and it was all good again.

Nothing new there.

We were in the middle of organizing a party. Sango and Miroku's boy was turning ten today.

It was a surprise party. Right now he was with his siblings Katie and Tom and his cousins Nicole, Mitch (my own kids with Inuyasha), Angie and Penny (Rin and Sesshoumaru's) coming back from the Hamptons house with Mr. T and Izayoi. All the kids knew about the party, they were helping keeping him in the dark.

When we got to the store, his predictions kinda came true. I was suddenly running everywhere on my YSL heels, telling him I could not ignore two curling irons for the price of one, and he was arguing we had to hurry because we had yet to go to his parent's house, where the party was being held, to finish preparing everything. I collected items to put in the basket, he took them out.

Over at the cashiers, he told me to go on home, he would pay for everything and would get home in a minute, but I couldn't do that, and here are the reasons:

1)He was just trying to trick me into not talking to anybody like I'm a five year old. That ain't gon' fly here (Sorry, I'll stop talking like that).

2)Kelli, from cashier #3 has a new tattoo. It would be so rude to leave without saying something.

3)Brenda, from Cashier #7 has returned from her wedding in Vegas. I wanted to see the photos.

So, I told him all that. He sighed and rolled his eyes.

I guess he was right when he said, all those years ago, that we balanced each other. It's a disaster every time we go shopping for groceries alone. Once I asked him to buy a few fruits so I could prepare some girly drinks for myself and Jakotsu, he came back with a bag of sea salt and those little umbrellas. So there you go.

This time, we got what we came for. The cherries for the cake. And three extra items. But that's not too much, I think.

It was going to be a great party. It was being organized, of course, by proud Daddy of the year, Miroku himself. He was all proud his boy was turning 10 and was already the Price among his friends from school – and the reason of many a sigh from 8 to 11 year old girls.

It was going to be at Inuyasha's parents house. Everybody was already there, getting ready and making sure everything was perfect. Except for the kids, that were coming from The Hamptons house with the grandparents.

This party was sure to be all over the news. A few Disney stars were scheduled to appear, including one of the hosts of his favorite game shows – a petite blue eyed blond Miroku was just too eager to hire, and Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru were strangely very interested to meet. "For the kids." Yeah.

There was going to be a race car track (the dads were going to supervise that activity), a whole fashion show for the girls and some teenage band that was apparently the it band.

That was the public party. After everybody left and Sango, Rin and I had already gone to bed, there was a very secret session of mattress surfing with the dads scheduled.

You see, we, the moms, were not allowed to surf anymore. Which I resent greatly, if you ask me.

When we got to the house, it was in full preparation mode. I took a little look at the Fashion area, and smiled when some interns from Maison T smiled and waved at me, showing me some dresses from old collections that were going to be used on the girls. Plus a few new accessories they would get to take home.

I ran to Inuyasha's old room, which was the one the both of us always occupied when we were there, and started getting ready, after swinging by the kitchen and dropping the cherries.

An hour later, we were already downstairs, listening to music and waiting for the kids to arrive, as were all the guests. Cole's wife suddenly came running from the gate and told everybody to get to their places. The music stopped, the lights went off and everybody – even the celebrities – hid.

We heard Mr. T's car stopping by the gate and the kids getting off.

"Same thing every year. I'm glad they didn't ask me to say anything, just took their pictures." Junior was saying.

Oh, yeah. There were some papparazzi at the door. But they were also instructed not to spoil his surprise.

"But they were kinda cool, to wish you happy birthday." Said Mitch, my own boy.

"Yeah, I guess. Hey. Why is everything so dark?"

"I don't know!" We heard Penny, Rin's 5 year old. ""I'll go look for dad." And then she ran to Sesshoumaru, where she claimed her favorite spot on the whole world: his shoulder.

"I'll get the lights" Tom, his brother, ran to his place. And then he started whispering to us "One, two, three!"

The lights went on, along with the music and everybody jumped, screaming "SURPRIIISE!"

The fireworks exploded and everybody ran to him, who had the biggest smile on (it was identical to Miroku's. Even the way his eyes lighted up.)

Like we thought: awesome party. The band was really cool, and they even played something for the parents, like some old rock and stuff like that.

Junior got to play the drums on three songs.

The Disney hostess was a hit, obviously. The girls wanted to be her, the boys thought the was so cool, and the dads... Well, they drooled.

The car racing was insanely cool. The kids had those special outfits, like real racers, and even popped a bottle of soda at the podium after all the races. Because it wasn't just one. It went on for hours.

I had to give away some autographs and take a few photos, but hey. It's fun. I can't say I don't like that. 'Cause I do.

After everybody left and I was really tired, but also really relaxed and with a belly full of gourmet hot dogs, the kids stared pushing me, Sango, Rin and Izayoi towards the bedrooms.

"You guys must be so tired! Go, go to bed! You deserve to rest!" They said. Even little Nicky, my 3 year old girl, the youngest of all the kids, kept pushing my legs towards the stairs.

"Yeah! Grandpa said he'll have a barbecue tomorrow by the pool, sol you must rest!"

"Go, go!"

Well, guess it's time for some surfing.

"Oh, ok." I said, while Nicky kept pushing me with her little hands on my knees. "Good night, then."

I kissed all of them, gave Junior another big hug for his birthday and turned the hall to my room. Sango, Rin and I exchanged a look before closing our doors.

"Oh, Inuyasha!" I went back to the corridor where they were and waved him over when he looked at me. He left the kids whispering to themselves and walked to me. "Listen, don't let Mitch do the Mortal, ok? He and Junior were training, I saw them at the pool last weekend. And try and control Nicky with the spinning, she learned it in the ballet classes and has been spinning almost non stop since."

"You got it." He smiled at me. I smiled back, and turned to go to our room, when he pulled me back. "You know what I realized today?"

"What?" I tried not to smile while he touched my neck with his nose. His stubble tickled me.

"That the dad of that kid who is friends with Mitch lingered a little too much when he shook your hand."

"Yeah, he kinda has a crush."

"Oh, really?"

"Yes. It was not the first time he did that. Last week I went to get the kids from school, he spent half an hour telling me about his Volks Eos."

He smiled and looked at me.

"He knows that's a girl car, right?"

I caressed his arms.

"I don't think he does, babe."

"Did you tell him I got you an Eos for your birthday last year?"

"No, I thought that it would be mean. He was trying so hard, I let him think I was very impressed."

"What were you really thinking?"

"That my husband looks much more manly with his truck."

He Smirked before kissing me.

Ten years, and I still feel those goosebumps.

"Dad? Da-ad? Where are you? We're about to st- oh! Hey mom."

Mitch, his father in every single aspect except for the hair, which was as black as mine, looked surprised to see me, still awake and out, in the way of their surfing.

"Hey, honey. I was just kissing your dad good night."

Her made a face.

"Ew. Ok. Dad, uncle Sess says he needs your help with..." He glanced at me. "Well, I don't know what with. He just needed me to get you."

I made a suspicious face, pretending I didn't know what was going on.

"What is going on?"

Inuyasha looked at Mitch and made a panicked face. The two sets of golden eyes bugging out made me want to smile.

"Nothing really." Mitch answered. "We are going to watch a movie, maybe Uncle wants Dad's help with... The pizzas?"

We stared at each other for a few moments, and then the Smirk, Mitch's Edition presented itself, so I let it go.

"Ok. Don't eat too much, you'll get belly aches. What movie was that?"

"The Shinning. Nicky said she wanted to see the freezing man."

"Hmm. Ok. Well, good night, then. Come here and give me a kiss."

He walked to me and I bent so he could kiss my cheek.

"Night, mom. Come on, Dad. Everybody's waiting."

"In a minute." Inuyasha took my chin, which made saw as a sign to flee as fast as he could, and then he kissed me. "We'll continue this later, ok?"

I only had time to smile when Tom's voice made itself present, all the way from the bottom of the stairs.

"That's a yoga mat, Katie! What do you expect to do with that? It has no stability whatsoever!"

"They really are not making an effort to remain underground, are they?" I asked.

Inuyasha smiled, kissed me again, let his hand slide form my back and linger on my butt for a minute and turned to go.

Not even if I tried really hard to fall asleep, it was impossible with all that noise. Screams like "Hey, no! That's not allowed!" "Yes it is!" "I win!" "NOW!" "Go, go, go!" "Uncle Miroku is cheating!" "No, I'm not!" "Yes, you are, dad! We saw you!" "Admit it, Uncle!" "NEVER!" and excited laughter and screams kept me up.

I really miss Mattress Surfing. But ever since Rin got pregnant, we don't anymore. Because after her, one of us were always pregnant, and then the kids decided that moms weren't allowed to surf, because we got too nervous about them hurting themselves. Now that's the moment they have with their dads. The Moms time is our annual trip to the Poconos to ski.

When I, finally, had dropped my book on my belly and closed my eyes, I felt Inuyasha lie down by my side. He even had taken his shower already.

I oponed my eyes and found him with his closed, taking a deep sigh.

"Tired?"

"They're more and more demanding. Me and Sess had to do the Double Mortal three times today."

I poised myself on my elbow and brushed his hair from his forehead.

"You were great at the party."

He looked at me and smiled.

"I was happy because we were really good at the market today. Just list items."

I looked away and lied back on my side of the bed. It was his turn to raise his upper body and look down at me.

"You bought something else, didn't you?"

"No."

"Yes, you did. I knew it." And lied back.

"Well, you have to understand. I got two curling irons! The one I had is all funny and Nicky needed one for herself."

"Honey. Nicky is three years old. And her hair has curls on it's ends."

"I know, but you know how much she loves them!"

He sighed again.

"Oh, please don't be mad at me."

"I'm not mad."

"Of course you are! I know your mad face, you're wearing it right now."

He turned his head to me.

"You din't need a new curling iron. Nicky certanly didn't nee one."

I let that sink in for a few seconds.

"Do you still love me?"

He smiled and looked at me.

"Of course I still love you, what kind of question is that?"

And then he climbed on top of me.

"We need to go back to Paris. It's been a while."

"Yeah... It's been what?"

"The last time was when we had Nicky." He started taking my night gown off. "Thinks it's time we make a new baby?"

Oh, yes, I forgot to tell you. Both our children were... Fabricated in France. Nicky was born in Paris. Mitch is British. Like his uncle Jimmy (who is friends with Inuyasha now. He even helps him pick out gifts for me).

"Maybe."

He bit my neck and I had to grind my teeth not to moan out loud after, because now he had a house full of children.

And, all the way, goosebumps and butterflies in my stomach and shivers.

I guess you'll always feel that, if love you share with the one kissing you is as overpowering as this.

Thank you for reading, all of you! Don't forget to tell me what you think! See you in another story?
