Son of Sea and Thunder
Chapter 2
-Harry/Percy-
Panting, he dropped onto the sand of the closest beach he could find, following the pull to the ocean where he knew he would be strongest and here he knew he could heal his new bodies abuse and injuries. It had been something his father had told him in secret after recovering Zeus' stolen bolt, how his healing could be accelerated if he willed it in water and if he went to the bottom of the ocean and willed it he could reverse any abuse or malnutrition, a way to heal if he was ever captured or stranded somewhere. Now he needed to heal his new body and the saltwater was calling to him, singing a song that not even a siren could hope to match.
Crawling forward he pulled his weak body, drained from his flight from the home of his 'relatives' the Dursleys by running and using mist travel, something that was still difficult for him to do. Now though he felt power coursing through his veins as he entered his father's…no his domain. His father didn't have a presence in this world so it was his duty to look after the sea where he could. As he allowed himself to be pulled down to the bottom of the Atlantic ocean, the ocean rushing to obey the commands of its master.
-Dumbledore-
"Only four more years till my plan truly begins," the ancient Headmaster of Hogwarts said softly to himself, stroking the long white beard he had spent years growing "four more years till Harry Potter comes to Hogwarts and I can begin to lure out the Dark Lord.".
As he thought over his plans he detected, faintly, the surprising smell of what he thought was sea salt before a sea green glow drew his eye to the silver instruments that lined his shelves, all of them connected to Harry Potter, his pawn and the eventual Martyr of the wizarding world. One by one the instruments began to shake and rattle, the silver slowly being eclipsed by the spreading veins of sea green that seemed to be trying to consume the instruments very existence.
Panicked he rushed over to the instruments and began checking them, trying to make sense of the strange sight that lay before him but slowly each of the readings changed drastically. Where before his instruments showed the readings of a malnourished seven year old the readings were rapidly altering, showing that Harry's body was recovering at a rate that shouldn't be possible, there wasn't any magic he knew of that could heal malnourishment at the rapid rate this was showing.
Added to the health instruments the devices that tracked Harry's power began to fluctuate, going up and down as his blocks tried to keep Harry's power in check before the device began to crack as the readings showed the bindings disintegrating as power poured in like a flood through Harry's magical core.
The final devices, the ones that tracked the wards over the Dursley house, the ones that would track Harry's location, and the ones that were designed to monitor the Horcrux in Harry's scar suddenly exploded in emerald flames, the flames climbing up his bookshelf as it began melting the rest of his instruments as he began trying to put it out. Vanishing didn't work, nor did removing the air, and when he conjured water over the fire it just climbed higher. Eventually he was forced to resort to the spells used to contain, control, and dispel fiendfyre before slumping down in his chair in exhaustion, the flames taking a staggering amount of magic to remove. As he looked at the spot that had previously held whizzing and whirring instruments he saw nothing but ash and soot as he looked miserably at the blackened stones, his only instruments for tracking the last Potter going up in flames.
Pushing himself to his feet he forced his exhausted body to move over to a crystal that would allow him to summon any member of the staff to his office as he quickly called the four Heads of House who were there within minutes. "Albus!" Minerva gasped when she saw him laying exhausted in his chair, unable to even sit up straight, "What happened?!".
"The instruments monitoring Mr. Potter," he wheezed "something happened. They began to glow with a sea green radiance before the energy began to vein across them. The devices monitoring the wards and Harry's location exploded into emerald flames which melted the rest of the devices. The flames were immune to vanishing spells, spells to remove oxygen had no effect, and conjuring water made them burn brighter. I had to use the spells to control and dispel fiendfyre but it took more magic than I've ever seen before for getting rid of fire. I need you to go and check on Mr. Potter at the Dursleys, find out what caused this.".
"Of course Albus." Minerva said instantly, the Head of Gryffindor rushing over to the fireplace and flooing over to Arabella's house, followed quickly by the other heads.
He knew there was a chance of them finding out that Harry was 'abused' by his relatives but he had no true fears as if they came straight back to him he would find out what happened, obliviate them, and then fix the situation. If they went to the ministry first he would play the shocked innocent that had placed too much faith in the Dursleys and have Harry placed with the Weasleys who would fill the boy's head with stories and make him eager to serve 'the great Albus Dumbledore'.
When his professors returned several hours later they told him they couldn't find any trace of the wards they had inspected before and even helped him put up. They told him about how Vernon Dursley was sent to the hospital after breaking the bones in his hand backhanding Harry, to his surprise it was a furious Severus that told him this before he remembered the Head of Slytherin's own abuse as a child. And they told him how Harry hadn't been seen in several hours by the Dursleys.
At those words he felt fear and anger course through him, fear at what the boy's disappearance could mean for his plans, for the greater good, and anger at the Dursleys for ruining everything he had worked so hard for. Making his decision he told the heads to report to Amelia and have her deal with the Dursleys, wanting to punish the muggle family for ruining his plan, and how when Harry was found he would try to have Molly Weasley take the boy in.
The professors quickly left as he sat down with a sigh, a small portion of his energy having returned, as he began to draw out new plans, having to rethink everything due to the changes to the board.
-Harry/Percy-
Groaning he opened his eyes with a stretch, looking around the sea floor he found himself in, before gaping as he saw the he wasn't where he had expected to be. Instead of a sea bed of sand he found himself on silken sheets in what looked like the bedroom of a palace. Rushing over to his window he saw the sea floor he had expected only moments ago, held against a magical force that he found he could exit and enter but no water would come in. "Do you like it?" a voice called behind him, causing him to spin around in shock, before seeing Hecate sitting on a loveseat "I thought you might like a comfortable home to stay in.".
"Thank you," he said earnestly "can you tell me where we are exactly?".
"The Mediterranean," Hecate said as she got off the loveseat to join him at the 'window' "near where your father's original 'Atlantis' was in our world. I made it an entire city out marble down here, the materials provided by your father and your Uncle Hades, so that you have a large home to spend time in and even bring people from the surface down here as I'll leave you several enchanted items to give them immunity to the water pressure and the ability to breathe underwater. Added to that any children you have will also have your powers, even if not to the same extent or all of them.".
"That's incredible," he said in shock before hugging the surprised goddess "thank you." He said sincerely as she hesitantly hugged him back "I mean it. This means a lot to me.".
"Of course Percy," Hecate said with a soft smile as she began to stroke his hair "while you may not be able to go to the world you were born in I can do my best to allow you to visit them in your dreams at times, and you can always build a family here.".
"But how am I going to get things like food?" he asked as he looked around "I mean, I don't exactly think stores will sell to a seven year old kid, let alone give one a job to even afford said food in the first place and I am NOT going to eat any fish…it feels wrong when you can speak to them.".
"That would make sense," Hecate said with a shiver "that's the main reason why Satyrs are vegetarians, they can speak to all animals and don't want to eat anything they can understand. But I have you covered in that sense. I've created some…companions for you in this world. Three of them are…mermish in origin and nothing like this world has ever seen, your father helped me create them. The first two are mermaids, not the war-like ones from our world, nor the somewhat disturbing ones that are common in this world but a traditional mermaid. They're twins and they can actually take human form for a few hours a day. The third is a girl who has a shark's fin on her back, gills' over her ribs, incredible strength, and her teeth can become razor sharp at will, she can become human as well for a time each day.".
"Say what?!" he gaped at the goddess of magic before groaning, knowing his father they were probably going to be gorgeous so with him having the mind of a sixteen year old stuck in the body of a seven year old…well it was going to be a long few years.
"They won't age Percy so don't worry, at least not until you reach their physical age." Hecate said with a giggle, "Once you reach your twenty first birthday you will stop aging so that you can look over your 'kingdom', any woman you marry will do the same and stop aging, you can still be killed though so be careful. Once you die, should you have lived well past what you normally would due to you not aging, your wife, or wives, will pass on shortly thereafter leaving one of your children to take on your mantle and protect the seas, and they too shall cease aging until they die. And you need not worry, I've enchanted your signet ring so that any who try to kill you to take over will be destroyed by the ring so nobody will wish to do so.".
"Well that's comforting," he snorted "wouldn't want to end up like my asshole of an Uncle, always being worried about my kids killing me.".
"Yes he is rather paranoid," Hecate snorted "anyway. Along with the three mermish girls you'll also have some…pets that your father and I created for you, four to be exact. The first three are extinct creatures, the megaladon, the tylosaurus, and the titanaboa. Megaladon is a giant great white shark and tylosaurus….I think 'whale from hell' would be a good description for that critter. The titanaboa though was a giant boa constrictor from the amazon that was over forty feet long, thanks to my magic and your father's influence it's now double that and it doesn't have to stay in the water to avoid dying from its own weight. The other creature is something your father created just for you that he dubbed a 'war hippocampus' and I'm not even sure how to describe that thing so you'll just have to see it for yourself. (AN: I just wanted to baffle Hecate, think the Hippocampus from 'god of war')
"Wow," he breathed in awe before paling "but how the hell am I going to feed those things?!".
Laughing Hecate put a calming hand on his shoulder "Don't worry Percy, I created tanks for them with my magic to help you out. The tank 'lids' have a special magic so that you can put something inside and it will shrink a set amount and it can be turned on and off so you can feed them regular food that will satisfy them and not need as much and can move them to different tanks if need be for cleaning or some other reason.".
Sighing in relief he gave Hecate a wide grin "I think things in this world are going to get very interesting Hecate.".
"You can be sure of that Percy," the goddess said as she gave him another hug "you can be sure of that.".
