Epic-logue

Welp, I can't believe I'm saying this, but welcome to the last chapter of the story! I have really enjoyed the reviews and how passionate many of you have gotten while reading this fic. I've brought many smiles and many tears, and I'm happy to have made that impact. I'm so glad you all came back as supportive as ever after my one-year hiatus! This has been such a fun story to write, and I'm sad to see it go, but all good things must come to an end.

On another note…sorry for the long wait! I wanted to wait for the dub of The Beautiful World before writing this, and now that I've seen it, I give you the micronations! :D

Without further ado…enjoy the Epilogue!

JoMiSm: Ah yes, Roderich Zwingli! I never knew it was one of the SwissAus shipping names, but evidently it is! :D And yup, one of France's running gags is le smacking. He doesn't do it often, but it's pretty hilarious when he does!

Moonlight Lantern: Thanks for the compliments! I like to take my readers on a roller coaster. It's more interesting that way. The rest of your questions shall be answered in this Epilogue. ^_^

WhatTheFuzzlecakes/arufureddo/Official Cake: Thank you so much! I'm glad I was able to develop it, and thanks for following it all the way to the end!

Fruitstogether: Read it as many times as you'd like! :D So glad I could make you laugh!

The Animanga Girl: YES! BRING ON THE FEELS! ^_^

furrfurr2001: Prussia FTW!

Aquanova dragon: I hope you and your dragon have much satisfaction for this epilogue! :D Your fangirling depiction made me laugh out loud. I had to read it twice! ^_^

Hornet394: Thanks! I wanted to pick a memorable date, so I debated between the Fall of the Berlin Wall and Prussia's birthday. I figured the former would be more impactful. :)

SilverDawn1313: I know, right! :D

135335: Sheer awesomeness has the tendency to bring awesome tears to the awesome eyes. ^_^

Une Pseudonym: :D

Hasuhanabira: :) I don't care how canon AusHun is…I'm a SwissAus shipper all the way! I figured implied pairings wouldn't hurt. I didn't want them to be the focus of the story, but hey, some fluff is always nice. On another note, I'm glad my writing was convincing enough! I was afraid I was making it obvious that Prussia was pretending to surrender, so thanks for the great feedback! :)

Melza-chan: Yay thanks! :D

Kiki Beilschmidt: I'll take second! :D Thanks for the review! Even though you weren't here when I started it, you're here now, and that's awesome! It makes me happy to know that after all this time has passed, I'm still bringing in new readers!

gintama200: Sorry I didn't update very soon, though I'm glad I cleared up your concern. :)

smiles atthe fin: Yay satisfaction! I try to achieve it, though it is—as you say—difficult. I'm glad I was successful, and hope this epilogue provides even more satisfaction!

midnightbittersweet: Thank you! Happy ending, yay! Except not QUITE the end yet because there's one more thing to wrap up. ;D

"Following Beilschmidt's captivating speech and reinstatement as the eastern Germanic nation, citizens all around the world gave tribute to the brave acts of the world-famous Prussia. Though his days of daring rescues are behind him, Prussia made sure to be present at the ceremonial releases of the remaining captive nations. You can find pictures of the releases of Australia, South Korea, Ukraine, and many others on Prussia's blog, and you can view exclusive footage after the break. More on the releases when we return."

Sealand turned the television off and tossed the remote aside, looking glum.

"Hey! Don't do that! I want to see the footage!" Seborga protested.

"What is bothering you, Sealand?" Latvia asked him. Despite his status as a nation, he sometimes found time to hang out with the micronations.

"Prussia got his nation status back for saving those countries. Nobody bothered to cage me up like the others, so this could have been my chance to do something great and become a country," Sealand grumbled.

"Whining about it won't make it any better," Wy commented drily.

"Aren't you happy the world is at peace now?" Seychelles inquired.

"Of course I am," Sealand said quickly. "I just wish it had been me instead of Prussia. My plan was full-proof! It just would have taken a little longer to do, that's all."

"You had a plan?" Latvia asked. "Gee, I wish you had used it to save me. I definitely wasn't first on Prussia's rescue list or anything. Lithuania, Estonia, and I had to be rescued by Russia. The three of us would have stayed in our cells if we had a choice."

"There's no way he had a plan," Wy scowled. "He just wants us to think he had a plan so he can lead us to believe he was close to nation status."

"What was your plan, though?" Seychelles asked curiously.

"It doesn't matter," Sealand said. "I can't use it now, can I?"

Seborga couldn't help but laugh. "It's a shame you were too late! I guess you took Britain seriously when he told you to go home and watch anime."

"This isn't funny!" Sealand retorted, flustered.

"Hey, it's not our fault you wouldn't get off your butt and take action," Wy pointed out. "I would've done it myself if I wasn't content with where I was and realistic about how completely impossible it would have been to save them all."

"Thanks," Latvia said flatly. "Glad to know I can count on you guys."

"Prussia did it," Sealand insisted. "It was possible all along!"

Seborga yawned and propped his feet up on the table. "Prussia is "awesome" though, and he used to be a nation. He already had plenty of friends, and he couldn't have done it without Canada's invisibility and Estonia's technology and whoever else with their skills and whatnot."

"Just let it go, Sealand," Wy said, sounding a bit less harsh this time.

"I'll bet some pasta will cheer you up," Seborga suggested.

"No." Sealand sighed. "Thanks anyway."

"Don't start sulking," Wy snapped. "You'll depress the whole room."

Seychelles watched in silence, wishing there was something she could say to calm things down. The nations' release was supposed to be a time of joy and excitement, but today just seemed like business as usual for the micronations. "You don't need to be a nation," she suggested. "You've got us. We're enough, oui?"

Before Sealand could answer, a knocking on the door claimed everyone's attention. Various exclamations of "Come in!" and "It's open!" followed, and Estonia peeked his head in.

"Hello? Is Latvia here?"

"Yeah, I'm right here. You can come on in if you want," Latvia offered.

"Sure, I can stay for a few minutes." Estonia sat on the couch beside Latvia, getting the feeling he was interrupting something serious. "What were you doing?"

"Sealand was just feeling sorry for himself as usual," Wy said dismissively.

"I was not!" Sealand objected.

"Be fair," Seborga put in. "The guy's happy-go-cheerful most of the time. It's okay to vent sometimes, am I right? Don't act like you've never ranted, Wy."

"I'm not so public about it," Wy muttered.

"What were you ranting about, Sealand?" Estonia asked curiously.

"He was upset about Prussia becoming a nation. I'm not sure how much of a plan Sealand had, but since the micronations weren't captured like us, he's kind of wishing he stepped up before Prussia did," Latvia summarized.

"I guess I'm just not big or strong or scary enough to do something as daring as that," Sealand said dejectedly.

"What kind of talk is that?" Wy demanded. "Don't turn into a puddle!"

"I think you should tell them the story, Estonia," Latvia said, nudging his friend.

"That one? Really?" Estonia smiled a bit, though he wasn't entirely comfortable speaking openly about his personal history to the group of micronations he knew so little about. "Well, I guess it could be pretty inspiring for this situation."

The micronations leaned forward a little, eager to hear Estonia's story.

Estonia started by addressing Sealand. "You mentioned big and strong and scary, yes? You think these are the qualities you need to be great? That, my friend, is far from the truth."

Sealand shook his head. There was no way a tiny micronation like him could compare to powerful countries like America and China. Big, strong, and scary were the traits of nations, and Sealand's small, weak, and cute disposition didn't cut it. No one took him seriously in his sailor outfit, so how could Estonia suggest that someone could be a nation without the powerful traits? Then again, Latvia wasn't much bigger than Sealand, yet he was still a country. Life could be weird and unfair sometimes.

After letting the micronations mull this over for a few moments, Estonia continued. "Big, strong, and scary…" He trailed off, as though reminiscing. "These were the traits of Russia, and of course you know they still are to this day."

"Exactly!" Sealand interrupted. "Russia is a big powerful country!"

"He was and is," Estonia agreed, "but he's not unbeatable. There was a time when me, Lithuania, and Latvia were forced to live in his home and be his slaves. It was not a fun time for us or our countries."

"I would imagine not," Seychelles said, sounding sympathetic.

"That doesn't matter now," Estonia said, waving off the sympathy. He did not like to think about his days as Russia's subordinate, nor did he enjoy the sympathetic looks from other nations now that he was a free man. "Anyway, while Russia controlled our countries, he didn't let us do any singing unless it honored his country. We were not allowed to sing our national songs or anthems."

"You are free now, though," Seborga noted. "How did you do it? Get on your knees and beg for mercy?"

"We tried that," Latvia said, to which Estonia flashed him a semi-irritated look. "It didn't work," he added unnecessarily.

"Have you ever heard of the Singing Revolution?" Estonia asked them.

The micronations nodded, having heard of it in passing, just as they've heard about the American Revolution, the Seven Years' War, and every other event and conflict of the world. Like every other historical event, they were not entirely knowledgeable on the specifics.

Estonia's smile widened a little. "Good. Then you would know that we drove big scary Russia out of our country with singing."

"It couldn't be that simple," Sealand said skeptically.

"It wasn't," Estonia agreed. "My people had to come together at many different points in time to make the statement, but in the end, they did what it took to be free again. Estonians were the first ones to stand against Russia at the time, and we did it with song. No big fancy weapons or espionage. We decided we would not be Russia's anymore, so we sang our hearts out and proclaimed everything that makes us Estonia. Russia didn't like it, but see where I am now."

"That's amazing," Seychelles said. "You're so brave to stand up to him like that!"

"It's great, but you're a nation. You have it in you to keep being a nation as long as you live. You didn't start out a micronation like me," Sealand said.

"What I'm trying to tell you is you don't need big fancy weapons or a scary aura to do great things," Estonia said, leaning back. "Take my advice as you will, but it worked fine for me. Even when I was Russia's prisoner, I still had Lithuania and Latvia to talk to."

Sealand thought this over. Sure, he might not be able to do something big and heroic like Prussia, and he might spend the rest of his life being brushed off by Britain, but at least he wasn't alone anymore. "I guess that makes sense," he said.

"As much as I hate being clumped together with you idiots, I have to say you make pretty good company," Wy admitted.

"Hey, that was almost a compliment!" Seborga exclaimed.

"Don't get used to it," Wy retorted, though there was amusement in her voice and a smile playing on her face.

"You're all pretty great," Sealand said. "Who needs those high-and-mighty nations anyway? Honestly, I don't think I want to be stuck-up and power-trippy like Britain. Sounds too boring."

"Who are you calling boring?" Latvia piped up.

"We're not all awful if you get to know us," Estonia added, seeming much more relaxed now.

"Hey you guys!" a familiar voice shouted, followed by the loud and dramatic appearance of Prussia.

"There's a thing called knocking," Wy started, but Prussia quickly interrupted her.

"I'm having an awesome party at my place, and you're all invited of course! Be there or be unawesome!" Prussia proclaimed.

"Was that just for Estonia and Latvia, or are we invited too?" Seychelles asked.

"All of you, duh, come on!" Prussia prompted. "There will be beer for those awesome enough to drink it. Get your butts off the seats and move!"

Estonia stood and stretched. "Looks like we don't have much choice in that matter," he said, amused. "I suppose I could stay for a little while."

"You'd better!" Prussia said over his shoulder, "because you're singing!"

"I'm what?" Estonia quickly ran after Prussia, who was running away with cackling laughter in his wake. "I didn't sign up for that!"

Latvia laughed and shook his head before jogging after his friend.

"You coming, Sealand?" Seychelles asked.

Sealand nodded. "Of course." As he followed Prussia, Estonia, Latvia, and his fellow micronations, Sealand started devising a mental list of amazing things he could do that didn't require size, strength, or power. "Look out, world," he muttered, grinning, "and get ready for Singing Revolution: Phase 2." Because everything that has ever been made needs a sequel or two, right?

Estonia would give him the lecture about copyright infringement later.

Disclaimer: I do not own Hetalia, the micronations, the characters, or anything else mentioned that could warrant Estonia tsking at me and lecturing about copyright infringement.

AN: This is it, guys! I know I didn't do a fantastic job writing the micronations, but all things considered, I'd say the Epic-logue turned out pretty good considering I just watched the micronations' episodes today and therefore had little exposure to their characters. So…ta-da! I wasn't planning to make the epilogue so elaborate, but hey, it's my parting gift to you amazing people, so I hope you enjoyed it!

If you want to see more from me, you might have to wait on that. School and work are pretty demanding. If you want to speak to my alter ego, pop by my America cosplay ask blog on Tumblr (URL posted on my profile page) and drop a question or two! ^_^ Though 'Murica is about as busy as I am, there are some pretty great posts up there. The blog has grown over time, and despite it not as awesome as a lot of other blogs out there, tis my other pride and joy (aside from my Fanfiction authorship). Alfredian Rep, I'll bet you'd like it! ;)

Until next time! Stay awesome, guys!
