A/N: Well look what the cat dragged in. I totally meant it in my other story when I said I'd be back on Wednesday, at the time. For reals, like one of my favourite song says "Is a lie really a lie if you mean it at the time?"

Now it's a different year and all I can offer you is an apology and a chapter you'll hopefully like.

Also, yes. I changed my name. It's still Steph, though.

Age: 16 – this is set a day after the prom I wrote about in my other story Your's, Oblivious.

Disclaimer: I don't own Phineas and Ferb, Harry Potter or any dragons. I do have some pretty rockin' Dragon ear cuffs though. And by rockin' I mean freakin' awesome.

Phineas and the panicked thoughts that just won't stop!

Keep calm, Phineas. Everything is going to be OK. So what no one else is in the house? So what it'll just be you and Isabella for a couple of hours. By yourself? Watching a film in your room.

Did I mention alone?

Panic, Phineas! What if she figures it out?!

There was a knock on the door.

What if she finds out you like her and what if she looks at you and what if she speaks to you?! What are you going to say?!

"Phineas? You here?" Isabella called through the house. "Phineas! Your door was unlocked so I'm coming in and watching this film whether you're here or not!"

You can do this.

...Thanks, brain.

"I'm upstairs Isabella! Just setting up." Phineas called from his room.

He scrambled to his feet quickly to make it look like he was in fact setting up, and hadn't been prepared since he got home from the dance last night. He turned to look at her as she walked through his doorway and smiled. She had looked beautiful in her dress last night, so beautiful that he dreamt she'd married him in similar dress last night, but that couldn't have prepared him for this. It was like he had fallen for her all over again. Everything she did set him alight; they way her smile reached her eyes as she saw him, the way she tugged on a loose bit of hair, even the way she frowned at him worriedly.

Hang on, frowning? Worriedly? Oh right, staring.

"Hi, Isabella, you brought the next film?"

Congratulations, Phineas. You acted like a normal human.

"I did!" She said brightly, handing it to him before getting comfortable on the side of the bed she so frequently sat.

Her side.

"I was going to bring snacks as well, but I was so excited yesterday to get ready I didn't seem to have the time to go out and get any." She apologised.

"That much is obvious. You looked great last night- I mean-! I don't mean you needed to spend that much time to look good- great! I meant I knew you'd spent a lot of time to get ready because you looked so good and usually you-"

You're losing it.

"You... sorry, can we start again?"

"I think that would be best." Isabella laughed.

"Hi, Isabella, come in. Yes, I'm fine thank you how are you? Good? Good."

Isabella laughed again. "Not that far! And I'm curious what you were about to say. 'Usually you' what?"

I think she just heard you gulp.

Usually you look breathtaking anyway. It was wasted time. You could have turned up in the shorts you're wearing today and you'd look better than anyone there. Usually you look beautiful. You're stunning and-

"Gorgeous."

"What?"

WHAT.

"Yeah," Phineas said, trying to calm his nerves and act like telling her was no big deal. "Usually you look gorgeous anyway, so yesterday was almost a wasted effort."

"You think...are you sure you don't mean cute? Because last time you called me cute. 'Scientific fact', I think you called it?" Isabella said with a small laugh that sounded almost as nervous as Phineas felt.

Unable to handle the eye contact anymore, he turned to put the film on, throwing over his shoulder "No, that isn't how I'd describe you."

"I guess I'll have to turn Meep down next time then." Isabella said dramatically and Phineas was glad she was making a joke out of this. He could tell he'd made her nervous, but he couldn't tell if it was good nervous or bad nervous.

"So," he said, taking a seat on his side, next to her, "ready for our next cinematic adventure?"

"Born ready."

...

"You know, these films really make you think, don't they? I mean, he's fourteen here and fighting off a dragon!"

"What, like you've never done anything so dangerous and cool at the same time?" Phineas asked her sarcastically. "Do you not recall the time we travelled around the world in a single day? When we were ten?"

"Well I suppose when you put it that way-"

"Oh no, say no more, Queen Isabella! I'll tell the gang straight away! Our adventures just aren't cutting it for her highness anymore!"

"Phineas!" Isabella cried and lightly smacked his arm. "You know what I meant!"

"Completely," he said as he smiled, pulling his phone out. He spoke aloud as he typed: "Dear...Journal. Remember to... Impress Isa-bella with drag-ons."

I wonder how far you can get with this before she realises.

"Have her...save me when I...am capt-ured by said...dragon. Hope that Isa-bella the Brave...will kiss me...to break the...curse." He finished typing and put his phone back in his pocket. "There, happy now?"

He looked at her and felt his heart stutter when he realised she was blushing.

"What kind of curse would we be breaking?" She asked him quietly.

"A terrible case of a lonely heart." He whispered, matching her tone.

"And am I the only one that could break it?" She asked him, unknowingly leaning towards him.

"My heart or the curse?" He asked her in return, knowing he was leaning towards her and doing nothing to stop it.

"Both." She whispered to him.

"Both." He whispered back. They were so close. He could count her eyelashes if he so chose, but instead concentrated on her lips. He thought their moment might have been last night after the second hour they'd spent slow dancing together regardless of song speed, but he'd happily settle for this.

Phineas was willing to take the risk. He was going to lean further and he was going to seal the deal and die a happy man.

A screech made them both jump back. Both their hearts were pounding as they stared from the screen to each other frantically.

"...Yeah, that's the golden egg." Isabella told him, eyes now firmly back on the television.

"Oh, uh, yeah, well, in the book they described it as pretty shrill."

"Hmm." Isabella agreed.

If you'd been a second earlier you could have done it. She would have known and you would have known. You could have been having a conversation about where your relationship might be going by now if you'd been a second faster.

Yes thank you brain. I didn't need to know again how that was the perfect moment and this stupid boy wizard has interrupted it.

They descended into silence after that. Phineas knew why he wasn't saying anything, and while the usual part of him hoped that Isabella knew nothing, a new part of him hoped that Isabella was suspicious of why they'd gone quiet.

She must have realised you were leaning in. Maybe she freaked out because she knew what you were doing.

Yeah, and maybe she freaked out because we were interrupted at the wrong time and maybe she wants this as much as me.

So tell her.

"Isabella..."

She turned to him slowly and he felt like he had melted when she looked at him and he realised something.

This isn't it. It might have been the moment, but it isn't now. There'll be more chances, Phineas. You're 98% sure on how she feels, what's the harm in waiting?

"I'm glad they made up."

"What? Who?" Isabella asked, and blinked rapidly as if apparently coming out of a trance.

"Who else?" Phineas asked, pointing to the screen. "It'd be like Ferb and I falling out. Just doesn't make sense without you pushing us back together."

It doesn't make sense without you full stop.

"I think I like being compared to her. Would that make you Harry then, being our ring leader?"

No, no, no, no.

"No."

"No? Ferb would be him? Why?"

Because I've read the books Isabella and Ferb doesn't end up with you.

"Well because Ferb is British, seems fair, doesn't it?" He said as if it were obvious, and laughed to cover up any sudden jealousy he felt towards his brother.

Phineas mentally apologised to his Ferb and simultaneously agreed with himself that he'd never speak of this, knowing Ferb would affectionately bully him for it.

"Now you put it that way, it's obvious that's how it has to be. If only you had a sister that he...um. Yeah I just realised you are brothers and you have a sister. Pairings in the film don't necessarily have to happen in real life." Isabella finished in a panic.

Ignoring the horrible mental image, Phineas said "Some could stay though... obviously some people are just supposed to be together. Whether they're aware of it yet or...or not." Phineas faltered as she blushed again.

Ok, she definitely blushes when she thinks you're talking about you two. Together. But so do you, and maybe that's why she's blushing.

...

"I hate this part." Isabella said suddenly.

"What? I've been looking forward to this maze the entire movie!" Phineas replied.

"Well, other than nearly all the cool stuff from the book is taken out, it's just... it's acted so well, here. I've never watched this and not cried."

Oh god if she cries what do I do?

"It's ok. I'm here and I'll cry with you. Then both of us will ruin our makeup." He told her with a smile.

...

Phineas had no idea how he had got like this. One minute he'd been paying attention to Isabella hiding behind her hands instead of watching the film, the next she'd leaned onto his shoulder to use him as cover too. He was pretty sure she wasn't even aware of doing it either.

He shifted his arm mostly to see if she'd realised how she was sitting and partly out of discomfort at being pinned, and when Isabella grabbed his hand and lifted his arm over her head he felt his heart fall out of his chest.

She leant forward slightly so his arm could rest comfortably behind her shoulders and resumed hiding behind one of her hands, eyes still mostly glued to the screen so she barely looked at him as she muttered a quick "sorry."

You are sat on your bed with your arm around her.

Isabella.

Phineas your arm is around Isabella and she made that move, not you.

DO NOT mess this up.

They both continued to watch in silence- well- as silent as it could be with Phineas' heart beating so erratically until the moment Isabella was dreading.

"It's so horrible when he dies, but seeing his dad and seeing Harry's reaction just... it just gets me every time." Isabella sniffed.

Phineas was that enthralled in the film he barely heard her; he simply held her tighter with the arm she'd placed around her and leaned his head into hers slightly until he felt her relax.

"I'm still here." He told her softly.

"I know." She whispered, and Phineas could hear her smile as she spoke.

"I always will be." He assured her, tightening his grip again on her arm where his hand was resting.

He knew she was smiling again before she said anything. "I know."

99%.

I put 99% at the end because earlier on during the night he was 98% sure about how she felt. I hope that came across before you hopefully read this part.

I am looking forward to writing 100% sure.

I am also looking forward to HOPEFULLY writing more often. I mean it actually for real this time. I suddenly needed to write this and so I did and I'm uploading it. Usually there's at least a few hours, never mind a week of planning. I really want to get back into writing again.
