Katara looked at Zuko and she could see and feel the anger pouring off of him. She was filled with panic instantly. As fast as she could, she went over to him. No one noticed him, as they were talking with the guard who brought the news.

"Zuko -" Zuko raised his hand in her face to silence her. His eyes were clenched shut, his jaw taught. He was attempting to control his anger by taking deep breaths.

Katara, becoming more worried called to Aang. Aang turned around to see what she wanted, but as soon as he did, he saw why. Zuko was so enraged his skin was tinting red. Anag slowly and cautiously approached him. Zuko opened his eyes for a moment and saw Aang coming his way. With his jaw still taught, he spoke. "Tell me avatar Aang. What gives you the right to just kill someone?" He said, his words laced in rage. Aang was suddenly filled with rage, shouldn't "Firelord Zuko" know he would have never done that if there was.

"If you would have seen what they did to her.. How I found her..." Aang shivered at the memory. "I get that! But why did you have to kill her! She should have seen a trial! She wasn't some thug on the street! She was a princess of the Fire Nation and former Fire Lord! What are you suddenly judge and jury!" Aang took a few steps closer to him, "Let me tell you something "Firelord". It could have been a street thug, it could have been you, or anyone. No life is more important than another life. She got Haru! Haru, of all people! I gave her a fair chance! When she killed Katara at Sozin's comet, I took away her bending, and you locked her in jail! But guess what? She escaped! She gathered a fucking army and came back for her, to finish her off! With or without her bending she was threat we could not afford." "She was my sister!" Zuko shouted back with such a force that his head shook.

"Do you know what she did to her! Azula chained her to a wall and tortured her for days! She beat her senseless! She again, by AZULA's hand, was on the brink of death! None of you saw her! They hurt her so bad that they forced her into using BLOODBENDING! If I hadn't of shown up at that time it would have been Katara killing both of them!

Katara hadn't remembered all of that, and Aang left that part out. She looked shocked and horrified.. She couldn't have... She wouldn't... "Please tell me that it isn't so..." Katara said above a whisper, sadness written all over her face, her hands clutching her heart. The despair and shock from Katara was enough to silence both Aang and Zuko. Suddenly Aang felt his heart drop to his stomach. He didn't tell her that because he knew she would never forgive herself for bloodbending, and now he just blurted it out like a heartless jerk.

"Aang...Why didn't you tell me?" She asked with a shaky voice. Aang was suddenly at a loss for words. Katara was becoming furious that he just standing there silent, staring at her full of grief. "WHY!" She screamed as she stomped her foot. Everyone, including Aang flinched backwards. Taking a deep breath, he began to explain why he didn't tell her. "Katara, please understand, I was trying to protect yo-" "WHAT! So lying to me is protecting me?!" Aang made his way to her and grabbed her hands desperately. searching her eyes with his. "I only did because you had gone through so much, and I knew that if I told you that you tried to kill Azula and Haru with bloodbending, that you would never forgive yourself." That explanation did nothing to calm her. "So you didn't think I could handle the truth? What else are you lying about?! Are you lying about us?! How you feel about me?!" Aang stood there with his mouth agape. He was utterly shocked she could say such a thing to him. Tears were brimming his eyes even though he was fighting like hell to keep them at bay. "How could you say something like to me?! After everything we have gone through, everything I've done for you, everything we've done, you think I would lie to you about something like that?" He said as his heart filled with sadness.

"Katara, that's enough!" Hakoda shouted. The sudden burst from her father did nothing to sway her. She turned her icy stare towards him. "Oh what, are you going to be a father now? Is that a joke?" Hakoda narrowed his eyes at his daughter, and stood firm. "You listen to me young lady, I am and always be your father and your protector until the day you marry. And this young man has been going to the ends of the earth and back for you. He looked just as bad as I did when I lost your mother, if not worse those times you disappeared. Yes he made a mistake by not telling you the truth. But he had good intentions." Katara's reserve began to crumble, but before anyone could see, she turned around and ran out the door. "Katara!" Aang yelled after her. He began to go after her, but was stopped by a pair of strong arms. He turned around to yell at whoever was attempting to stop him from consoling her. That is until he saw it was Hakoda.

"Give her some time Aang. She need to clear her head, and some time alone. She has been through so much these past few months." Aang looked at her father. He looked broken. "Sir, you have to understan-" He gave Aang a warm, loving look. One a father would giver to his son. "I know you meant well, we all do. But Katara is a proud young woman. She can handle more than you know. You have to trust she can, whether it's good or bad news."

"Yeah man, as soon as you said you were trying to protect her by lying, I know you were in for it. A stewed sea prune, if you will." Sokka added. "Ouch!" Sokka screamed. "Have you no boundaries meathead!" Toph screamed as she punched him. "What?! He was." Everyone just rolled their eyes.

"Aang, you and I need to talk alone, right now. As for you guard, you are not to breath a word of this to anyone, do you hear me?" "Sir." The man bowed in understanding before he left the room. "Have my army hold off the rebels, I'll be out shortly to end it." "Sir." "I don't like that you want to speak to Aang alone after what just happened." Sokka chimmend in with the others agreeing. Zuko rolled his eyes. "I'm not going to kill him, but we need to speak now." Aang nodded in understanding. "I'll be fine guys, try and help the army get rid of the rebels. We'll be out soon." Sokka gave him a questioning look, but agreed.

Zuko turned around and made his way out of the dining hall and to his private chambers with Aang in toe. As soon as the doors closed, Zuko began. "Okay, you need to tell me now, why my sister had to die." Aang cleared his throat, "When I came bursting through the stone wall I saw both Haru and Azula on their last breath and Katara standing in front of them with this crazed look on her face. She had gashes and bruises all over her body. Hell, it looked like she had some broken bones. The only reason she was standing was because she was bloodbending. Then it hit me, she was killing them using that. You're right in the sense that she have stood trial, but this is the second time she tried to kill her. Even after you had her locked away and her bending gone. There are too many rebels willing to break her out. If I didn't do it, I know Katara would have. I couldn't let her that, so I did." Zuko's anger seemed to cool, but he had to ask one question. "Why did Haru get to live?" "Because this was his first offense. If he tried to come for her again, I will stop him...Permantly."

Zuko dropped his head in defeat. Deep down he knew what the avatar said was true. He didn't want to face it though. In spite of everything, Azula was still his sister and he loved her. She would be at peace now at least.

In spite of why she died, Zuko couldn't help but cry a little for his sister. "Aang, I'm not mad at you. Once she escaped I knew it was only a matter of time. She was still my sister though... I am going to miss her..." Zuko cried as more tears followed. Aang's heart hurt for him. Although she was an evil person, she was still a living person. She was still loved by someone.

Aang attempted to give Zuko a hug, but he stopped him. "I know you're trying to be a good friend. But I really need to be alone right now." "I understand. For what it's worth, I am sorry for you.." He said as he left Zuko's chambers.

Once the doors closed behind him he began to run. He needed to see Katara.
