12 WEEKS EARLIER...

"And why are we bringing gifts to people we haven't even met yet?" Heatwave asked irritably to his partner. He was pissed to say the least. First he has to deal with Kade's overdose of cologne and he had a pie made by Chief as a "house warming present" sitting in his front seat.

"It's called being friendly." Kade snarled, "You should try it sometime,"

" I could tell you the exact same thing."

"Hey, ya know what-"

"Boys!" Chief's face popped up on the screen on Heatwave's dashboard, "Knock it off. We want to make a nice first impression on these people. We'll have to see them everyday, I'd rather have it not be an awkward one."

The rest of the ride was spent in silence. Good thing it was a short one. Heatwave gave little huffs here an there, however. He didn't see the point in trying to impress the "newbies of Griffin Rock" as Cody dubbed them. But he didn't ask questions; Earth was still a foreign planet.

The house itself was average, but still unique. A two story brick house with a side garage and a large red shed in an even larger backyard. The bricks themselves were painted a magnificent pacific blue while the roof was a snowy white with an oak wood picket guarding the home. A stone path with rainbow rocks led its path to the front door.

Cody wasted now time in jumping out of Chase but reluctantly waited for the rest of his family before rushing to the house.

"Hold your horses bud, they're not going anywhere," Graham chuckled.

"He's just excited because most of the kids are around his age, and most are girls" Dani giggled,

"Eww! That's the last thing I need, more girls in my life," Cody said disgusted at the thought of "girl cooties". Don't get me wrong he liked girls, just not in...that way yet.

Kade laughed, "Hey, girls aren't all that bad Code. You deal with Dani and Frankie,"

"That's different!" "How?" "Dani's my sister and Frankie's my best friend, I have to deal with them!"

"Hey!" Dani shouted, although you could here the laughter in her voice.

"Are those the two people we saw the other day," Boulder asked, "One did look to be Cody's age, but the other seemed to be just a little younger than Dani,"

"Yeah, now lets go!" Cody grabbed his fathers hand and dragged him up to the house.

"You guys wait here," Dani said, pulling down her red knee length casual dress.

"Where else would we go?" Blades asked.

"Guys come on!" Cody shouted,

Kade grabbed the cherry pie from heatwaves interior, " Will you relax! We're comin'!"

A loud giggle could be heard from the door way. There stood a girl who looked about 13, just a year older than Cody with long, curly crimson red hair, fair skin, in a sleeveless golden yellow dress, ruby ankle boots and sunset orange leggings. "You guys can come in if you want," She had a sweet voice and and a bubbly gleam in her stunning, very light blue eyes. Cody, of course, was the first one to say hello.

"I'm Cody." He said, shaking the girls hand.

"I'm Melody." The girls giggled. "Come in, come in." She said, standing aside to let the Burns family inside her new home. The inside of the house was simple; shamrock green with a cream rug hugging the floor of a long hallway that broke off into the living room, kitchen and dining room.

"Wow. Your house is amazing," Dani said.

"Sweet place," Kade waltzed in.

"Thank you. My sisters and I decorated it." Melody stated, shutting the door behind her. The Burns family settled themselves in the living room where 3 other girls, one Melody's age and the other two about 18, 4 years younger than Dani herself.

"I'll take that," A beautiful woman with the same crimson curls and the same eyes as Melody took the pie from Kade, "I'm Mary Wright, by the way. My husband and sons will be down in a moment and dinner will be ready in half an hour." And with that she disappeared into the kitchen.

"These are my sisters, Elsa, Lily, and Autumn," Melody and Elsa appeared to be fraternal twins, yet the only real difference, appearance wise, was their hair.

Elsa had white blonde hair tied into high pigtail braids that fall to her waist with curled bangs framing her face and wore an icy blue three quarter sleeved, knee length dress with a white belt and mid calf length leggings and icy blue flats.

Lily and Autumn, too, appeared to be fraternal twins, but the only physical trait that identified them as twins were the same eyes as their little sisters and mother.

Lily had golden blond hair that tickled her chin. She bore a grassy green ruffled blouse, forest green 2 inch wedges were tied to her feet, and an emerald green skirt that brushed her mid-thigh.

Autumn's chocolate colored waves flowed down to the middle of her back. A burnt orange off shoulder blouse, dark brown dress pants and tan laced boots clung to her small yet muscular frame.

"Hello," Lily waved shyly.

"Hi, I'm Graham," Graham shook her hand as a light blush appeared on Lily's cheeks. Melody and Elsa both giggled.

"I'm Kade," "Dani, pleasure," Chief Burns at your service ladies, but please, call me Charlie,"(Does that sound a little pervy? cause you normally here that from a womanizer or something)

"Hello Chief Burns," Autumn said, "We've heard great things about you and your 've done amazing work as rescuers. I heard you help out, too Cody."

Elsa gushed, "It is so cool that you're allowed to go on rescues!"

"He's not allowed to but he doesn't listen," Kade scoffed. "You have no idea how much we worry about this kid. He's 12 and already an adrenaline junkie,"

"HEY!" Cody blushed. Dani giggled, "We always worry about you baby brother," She draped an arm around Cody's thin shoulders and pulled him close.

Cody blushed beet red as everyone laughed. Even among the noise, another voice was still heard,

"You just couldn't wait to embarrass this kid, could you?" The voice was deep and warm. All heads turned to the wide doorway to see two boys, one 18 and smirking, the other 13 and biting back laughter. Both had the same blue eyes as their sisters.

"So you guys finally decided to show up," Melody smirked back.

"We live here, duh." The younger stated, plopping down next to Cody, squishing him in-between him and Elsa.

"Do you have to be so rude?" Elsa scowled at her brother.

"Yeah. I'm Ricky by the way," He held a hand out to Cody who shook it. "Cody."

"I'm Mitch," The oldest Wright boy sat down in between Lily and Autumn.

Ricky had shaggy vanilla blond hair highlighted crimson with a lanky frame. He bore a white loose collared shirt and dark blue jeans. Kyle had pitch black hair that hung loosely over his eyes down to his shoulders. With the muscles a black colored shirt with the first three buttons undone and black jeans he looked like Kevin Levin with blue eyes.

"DINNER!"

Elsa, Melody, Cody and Ricky flew off the couch and raced to the kitchen.

Kade and Kyle chuckled at their brothers' and sisters' reactions, "I'm gonna guess those four are gonna get along just fine," Mitch said.

Dinner was delicious and the whole Wright family was charming. , or Mitch as he prefered, was a tall man in his forties with graying dirty blond hair cut and combed back. Even at his age he mirrored his eldest son's build; lean around the waist, muscly arms. Elsa, Melody, Ricky and Cody became best friends, forming their own little group with Frankie joining after a week of meeting the Wright family. There was something that just made you love them.

They seemed like the typical movie family; Melody the bubbly little girl; Elsa the distant yet loving sister Lily the shy girl, but an enormous chatterbox once she gets to know you; Autmn and Kyle they kind, hot headed and mysterious older brother and sister that you knew you could tak to; and Mary and Mitch the loving parents with hearts of gold.

Life in Griffin Rock was still the same, everyone accepted the Wright family as one of their own; Life was amazing...

...Until young Mitchell Sawyer went missing from the park just two weeks after the Wrights arrived.
