Chance 1: Dreams of Blue Roses

She didn't know what to think or to expect. The sky was dark with billions of stars you could only dream of or see in space. Two giant moons glowed gracefully on her body. The air was cool and filled with snow and only a few feet away from the light rose pink hedgehog was a single rose bush with only one rose healthy and well. An enchanted blue rose.

Amy breathed, the steam of her hot breath clouded her redden cheeks. She wondered how she has not frozen to death? Her dark jade eyes couldn't stop gazing at the lovely flower.

"Take it."

A heavenly voice echoed to her. She looked around to find the owner of the voice only to see nothing but the vast mountains and few trees but no living thing in sight. She turned back to the rose bush walking slowly and carefully towards it before her fragile fingers could even grasp the green stems that would forever change her life, she would soon regret it.

11 years later...

Dark jade eyes opened to the strong sun rays bursting through her bedroom windows. She whined in annoyance before rolling out of the bed, somehow falling on her butt.

"Ow..." Amy groaned before standing up slowly heading towards the bathroom groggily. Amy Rose a 16 year old girl was ready for the big day... well not really she signed, she looked into her mirror; hope deep in her eyes as she wanted to confess her love to her childhood friend Sonic for about 3 years now and today was the day she would do it. She sported her red, black and white striped headband which matched her school uniform of a black blazer and a red skirt. Looking at herself over an over again including brushing her mid-length bob she smiled at herself before walking out of her apartment to go catch a taxi to school.

Shadow leaned against the brick walls, a cigarette in his mouth and his eyes halfway closed. Wearing some gold studs and a cross earring with a casual leather jacket, you'd be scared of this type of guy. Some girls walked passed him blushing and giggling, he grunted before turning his head to the other side of the street. Seeing a pink hedgehog leave her home. Shadow stretching his muscular arms and soon strolled towards her, somehow almost menacingly.

Amy stood by the bus stop as Shadow's hand gripped her shoulder. She squeaked and turned around quickly. Panicked eyes soon turned into calm ones as she held a sign of relief on her face.

"Shadow..." She said tiredly," You got to stop doing that."

His face remained emotionless as he huffed.

"You know you can talk if you want too,"

"Well maybe I don't want too," he said darkly, his voice rich and velvety. Girls would kill to date Shadow, Amy couldn't blame them, but Shadow was nothing more than a friend in her view.

"Where are you heading to Shaddy?" Amy said, Shadow glanced at her for brief second, a hint of irritation could be seen in his expression.

"Dont call me that...," he grumbled. Amy held in a giggle which soon was silent as Shadow spoke.

"I'm gonna be gone for a while, I left groceries in the kitchen so you can make yourself anything to eat and I payed the bill for the house and got you an extra pack of pills."
Amy somewhat smiled. "Shadow...you didn't have to do all that."

"Hmpf." Was all Shadow mumbled before patting her head and walking off. Amy smiled happily and was glad she was friends with Shadow, she didn't know what she would do without him. After all the things they've been through since elementary he still had her back and would do anything for her.
Suddenly a vibration came from her black blazer as she picked up her cell phone answering it immediately.

"Hello Marine!" Amy said happily. She moves the phone away from her ear a bit as she heard the racoon girl scream loudly at her in hyperness.

"Amy! Where are you? Your 10 minutes late for class your gonna get a tardy!"

She looked at the time on her watch in shock, it was already around 7: 28 AM. She freaked.

"Oh my gosh! What do I do?" She began to ran as quickly possible in her heel boots, dodging people trying to catch a taxi.

"Run hedgehog run!" Marine said, Amy could hear Cream asking what was going on as she crossed the street slightly bumping into someone who glared at her but she ignored him and continued running.

"Darnit!" Amy squealed as she continued running to catch a taxi. Things were not going her way today.

Shadow walked down the castles checkered floor halls. It was nighttime and the moons light shined through the tall stained glass windows. Walking quickly towards a dead end, there stood a wall and the symbol of two moons engraved on it. Shadow placed his gloved hands on the wall as it glowed dully letting him in and soon leading him to a stairway tunnel beneath the castle of Pandoria. His ears twitched to the sound of wings flapping. Looking up there stood Rouge the bat in a lovely aqua crystal encrusted gown, her feet gracefully touching the ground beneath her, her white hair glowed dimly in the moonlight making as beautiful as a goddess,

"What happened?" He said, Rouge looked at him and signed, she must have been up for days telling by the dark circled under her turquoise colored eyes.

"He's waking up," she said tiredly." The spell that bounds him won't be able to hold him for much longer, I'm giving it about a week; on earth that should be two months."

"Dammit." Shadow cursed and gritting his teeth. "We don't have much time stop this crisis."

"How's Pinky holding up?" Rouge said curiously.

She won't remember anything as long as she continues to take the pills, so we wont worry as much about her." Shadow said rubbing his stressed temple."Take me to him."

"Follow me." Rouge said eagerly as they walked quickly down the stairs. Blue and purple lights illuminated the entire room, three royal soldiers held Mephiles in place with strange looking staffs. He was nothing more but a black mist trapped in his own crystals. Knuckles grunted as he turned to Shadow and Rouge.

"He's fighting his way out mentally." Knuckles said." Are we finding the crown yet or as that girl found someone to her liking yet?"

"No, but I'm going with Espio, Vector and Mighty to go search for the incursive crown again, we may have been able to track it down." Shadow said. "And Amy did apparently but I don't know if the spell will actually break if she and the blue hedgehog do like each other."

"You might not ever find it." Rouge said worriedly.

"Looks like I don't have a choice but to look, or else it's war all over again, he just needs a form and a vessel to go to both Pandoria and Earth."

"And Pinky is the vessel," Rouge said.

"Mephiles can not get a body or else we are all doomed, We must take precautions so light up the room with as much lights possible." Shadow informed the guards. "He can only move in the shadows if he is but just matter."

"Don't worry, we can stop this!" Knuckles said glaring hatefully at the black matter which was Mephiles." We can save Pandoria before its too late."

"Lets hope so hun." Rouge said." Let us hope so..."

Shadow head back up to the stairs. Rouge turned to him curiously.

"And where are you going now Shadow?"

"There is someone I know who has a clue to where the crown is..." Shadow said walking quickly up the stairs. "This might be our lucky chance at stopping this crisis before it even begins."

Bored.

That was the only thing on Amy's mind as she sat in the middle of class listening to her Biology teacher talk about miosis. Turning her head toward the window next to her desk, she could see the track and a few kids running on it but only one outstands them all. She felt herself smile as her childhood friend crush Sonic the hedgehog, her blue hero running faster than anyone else no sweat about it!
"He's so cool..." She mumbled to herself as her cheeks flushed a bright pink as thoughts clouded her mind. His slick cobalt fur, his emerald green eyes, that sparkling smile!
WHAP!
Her teacher Mr. Owl scowled at her, apparently he whacked her with a folded up newspaper. Students laughed at her, red now coursed her cheeks besides the reddening on her forehead. This was absolutely embarrassing for her.
"Jeez..." She whined as she sunk into her chair.

"What was that all about Amy?" Cream said curiously, she had two red ribbons tied to each of her ears as she sat next to a sullen Amy.
Amy whined embarrassingly.

"Oh Cream, I embarrassed myself again-

"Fifth time in a row?!" Cream said shockingly cutting Amy off. Amy gritted her teeth as Cream apologized as Amy continued.

"But anyway, I'm finally ready to confess to Sonic." Cream smiled cheerful at Amy, she knew how to bring herself back to her perky old self.

"Good luck to you Amy, when do you plan on telling him?" Cream asked again.

Amy smirked proudly. "After school since he always goes out on track before he leaves school."

"Hehe." Cream giggled. "Well I hope things go well." she said sweetly as she got ready for her next class.
Amy waved a quick goodbye to Cream. Amy's eyes shined with confidence.

'Just you wait Sonic. I will confess to you and hopefully I'll know if you like me too!' Amy thought. Her heart pounded as she headed to her next class. Only one more class to go before she could ask Sonic, a part of her felt slightly nervous yet still somewhat yet excited. She loved him she know for a fact she did, anyone could tell you she loved him dearly and she wanted to be more than just a best friend. She couldn't wait to meet him after school.

"Dammit! Where the hell is that son of a bitch?!" A man growled angrily, he was bruised and slightly injured. His group of four were just as beaten as him while they searched for the guy responsible.

"Who the fuck do you think you are toying with me?"

"Apparently the guy who kicked your sorry ass." A voice called out in the dark room. The voice sounded deep, but yet kinda young like a teenager.

"Show yourself you fucking coward!" The man yelled, he shakily yet proudly stood up ready for another fight.

"You go Butch!" One of his teammates yelled. Butch smirked confidently at this as his gold eyes searched for the bastard.

"Oh? You want some more?" the voice said cockily. "Then have at it dog breath!"

"You rotten little fucker!" Butch flicked out a rather sharp pointed bowie knife at the figure who was about 2 inches shorter than Butch, which made it more embarrassing for him to lose to a shorty. The figure now seen to be a emerald green hedgehog wearing a leather jacket and some dark sunglasses to cover his eyes. Butch glared at him before angrily swinging the weapon at the hedgehogs throat, but the hedgehog quickly dodged it incredibly fast. A shark tooth grin plastered his face as he turned quickly and his fist swung up uppercutting Butch in the chin; A crack was heard on impact as the dog tumbled to the ground from the strength of the knockout. Blood gurgled out of Butch's mouth and nose as his body twitched slightly, his eyes rolled to the back of his head. His gang flinched and hesitantly looked up at the green hedgehog who smiled playfully at them, but they knew there was a dark malice in his eyes.

"L-lets get the hell out of here!" One of them yelled in utter fear as they scrambled out of the giant shed, leaving Butch behind. Scourge stared blankly as they ran, his eyes flickered to the badly injured Butch and chuckled; pressing his foot on Butch's chest he couldn't help but burst out in laughter.

"Looks like you were ditched...loser." Scourge said. Butch continued to gurgle choking off the the blood running down his face into a puddle on the floor.

"Is this really what you spend your time doing Scourge?" Shadow said coming inside the large shed staring rather annoyed at the green hedgehog who smiled sheepishly at him.

"What? I'm bored and I haven't found that crown yet!" Scourge grumbled, stepping his foot off of Butch and walked towards Shadow. "I'm gonna be the king and get power to do whatever I like."

"No...you think your going to get the Demon crown and be king." Shadow corrected him. Scourge scowled at him stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"Pfft! You don't know that Shadow." Scourge said confidently. He smiled viciously and pointed to himself. "I know you only want that damn crown so you can save some chick I haven't even met yet!"

"Like i'd ever introduce her to a demon like yourself." Shadow grumbled. Scourge glared at Shadow and shrugged.

"Heh your pathetic Shadow, wasting your time for someone when you should be focusing on defeating Mephiles." Scourge said turning and walking near the exit of the large shed. "If it were me I'd just let the bitch get what she deserves."

Shadow's eyes narrowed as he stomped towards Scourge gripping the hedgehogs collar and slamming him to the metal wall. Scourge looked at him with that annoying cocky ass smile once more.

"What did I offend you?" Scourge teased and in return Shadow slammed him on the wall again leaving a deep dent behind the green hedgehog.

"Listen to me right now Scourge. " Shadow growled angrily. "I can take a lot of shit from you, but don't ever talk about her like that again or I swear to God I will beat the shit out of you."

Scourge had a puzzled look on his face before he snickered a bit. He pushed Shadow off of him laughing as he spoke. "That girl means that much to you?" He leaned on the wall smiling a shark tooth grin once more. "I got to mean that chick sometime."

"I assure you, I wont let that happen." Shadow snapped.
Scourge eyed Shadow playfully as he stood up at the exit and smirked. "You wanna bet?"
Shadow looked at Scourge as the green hedgehog stepped out already running towards Amy's school. Shadow cursed as he ran after Scourge, he wouldn't let that idiot foolishly reveal he was a demon and fuck up Amy's life making her remember everything. She couldn't know about this stuff anytime soon at least not right now. Keeping his tail on Scourge, he saw him jump high up onto a building moving extremely fast to random buildings but still heading to Amy's school. Shadow followed quickly doing the same as Scourge as his hand swung at him giving out a Chaos spear. Scourge noticed the attack and dodged with ease.

"Gonna have to do a lot better than that Shadow!" Scourge called out still far away from Shadow.

Shadow gritted his teeth annoyed at Scourges game of chase. He had to take drastic measures to protect Amy.

Author: So how was the first chapter? I redid the plot a little bit so I wouldn't lose inspiration. If you liked it then review! The more reviews the more chapters you get! Like an Author said once

Also I wanted to say this. Many of you must be thinking this might end up being a SonAmy, ShadAmy or even a MephAmy but as you may be right I made the fanfic sort of twisted so there could be possible options who Amy may or may not end up with. I read many fanfics and we all knew somehow that Amy would most likely end up with the person you were expecting in the story, but in here it could be anyone. I would really appreciate reviews since it makes me feel I should continue a fanfic and I'd appreciate advice on making this fanfic better. I want plenty of action and romance in it and would truly appreciate tips if you really like this story.
