Thank you again for reading. Will this become something, I am not sure. You may just have to subscribe and see. I wrote this on the hinges of Avengers: Infinity War and how I would have liked to have seen it end, but we will see if I can make that one work.
Epilogue - Nothing
Darkness. Pure darkness.
Lynnea Barton awoke with a shock and came to her feet.
Was she floating? Where was she standing? She could not see beyond her body, but the darkness around her seem to go on forever.
Where were Clint, Francis, Terra, Jaron, the other Avenger children...they were gone.
She was alone, but adorned in her guardian attire.
Where was she?
"Where am I?" she screamed.
Large glowing flames began to whirl, spiral, whizz, and surround her. Each flame was a different color. Red, blue, green, purple, orange, yellow, and all colors of the spectrum.
"Who are you?" she demanded to know.
"We are the eternals," the glowing red flame spoke.
"The universe is dead," blue flame bluntly put.
"Time and all of reality has collapsed," yellow glowed with her powerful words.
"And you, time traveler, are the only hope before our spark extinguish under the oppressive darkness. Our survival depends upon you," the purple flame spoke.
"Against what?" she asked spinning around as the flames kept moving in their attempt to frighten her.
"Infinite darkness."
"The collapse of time itself."
"A grave and ultimate threat."
"Infinity..."
Her mind triggered with memories from her youth. Yggdrasil burning as the universal tree was destroyed under the weight that the darkness brought upon it.
The glowing fire around it symbolized an ancient weapon that her grandfather held his treasure room. It was described as the ultimate weapon that could traverse the stars, manipulate reality, enslave the mind, eradicate life, and rewind time to allow the wearer to do it over again with the power no one could defend against.
The Infinity Gauntlet fully armed with the Infinity Stones.
Reality had collapsed all because this weapon was now in the hands of one who did not know the cost of wielding such a weapon.
And now the ancients were asking her to restore universe.
No pressure of course, she thought. But one thing was for sure.
She was going to need help.
