I was hurrying home from school when the heavens decided to open its flood gates. My uniform latched onto my arms and legs as the rain continued to pour down. My parents were not going to be happy when they see me like this especially when they had guests in the house. My mum told me to hurry home as one of her closest friends was coming over with her husband and thought it would be nice if I met them but I was late coming home so they probably left already.

I turned a corner onto the street of my house. It was quite a lavish part of the city I do have to admit, with modern and high rise houses that lined the street and rows of healthy, green plants between each house. It was also close to the castle of the royal family so it was heavily guarded too. The street was empty as expected due to the heavy rain.

As I got closer to my house I saw a dark silhouette outside my house. I squinted my eyes to get a better look at the person, it was a girl in a white dress. I stopped a few feet away from her not sure if I should try to talk to her or just leave her outside in the rain. For all I know she could attack me. I looked at the girl a little more closely, she had dark brown hair, almost black which was plastered onto her head and back and her skin was a unhealthy white. "H-hey. Are you alright?" I asked the girl not sure if she would reply. The girl turned her head and looked at me straight in the eyes. Her eyes, they were chocolate brown but they seemed empty and detached. She held her gaze for a few seconds before blinking. Her mouth opened and tried to say something but before she could, she collapsed. I caught her in my arms and ran to my house with her in my arms.

"Mum! Open the door!" I called out, hitting the door with my elbow. After a few moments my mum flung the door open. "Where were you Rob-" before she could finish her sentence, I rushed into the house and ran up to my room. My mum called my dad and they followed me upstairs. "What's wrong Robert?" I heard my dad asked. "A girl. I found this girl in the rain." I said showing the girl laying on my bed. The colour drained from my parents faces. "Dear, go call Reina." My mum said to my dad and I gave my mum a questioning look. "That little girl's name is Pam, she's my friend's daughter."My mum explain, "you should go get changed Robert or you'll catch a cold. I nodded and was about to move away from 'Pam' but I felt a gentle tug on my sleeve, it was her. Her small hand held the black fabric weakly before letting go. And so on that day, I met one of the most to special person to me. After a few months we became close friends.

We visited each other often and went on many trips with our families. It was a great time during my childhood but it didn't last long. If I knew we were going to be separated, I would have held her close. I know it seems strange nine or ten year old boy to fall in love but I couldn't help it.

"Robby!" A cheerful voice called out to me swinging my bedroom door open. I turned around to be greeted by the cheerful girl. "Hey Princess." I smiled, patting her affectionately on the head, "Feeling energetic I see". "Yeah, I got lots of rest. I just came back from a wedding." Pam said sitting next to me. "You're auntie's wedding right? How was it?". "It was beautiful! My aunt looked pretty in her dress." Pam smiled happily. "Would you like to get married?" I asked. "Hmm, I don't know. Ace said love is an incurable sickness. I don't want to be sick or make anyone sick." She replied obliviously. "A-are you sure? Love can be a good sickness." I stutter. "Yeah? Then are you sick Robert?" Pam asked looking at me. "N-no I'm not." I stuttered, feeling my face heating up. "Why are you here anyways?" I asked looking down at her. "To get you of course! I just got a new book about magic, I wanted to bring it with me but it was too heavy." Pam chirped happily, pulling me down the stairs.

The castle was nothing like those old stone castles on Earth. It was made of brilliantly coloured glass (it's not see through) like a crystal palace (not the football team), the sun would make the whole structure radiate colourful rays of light that could rival a rainbow. We arrived at the castle quite quickly because Pam practically ran while dragging me not to far behind. We made a sudden stop. The castle was engulfed in flames and some parts collapsing, the once blue sky painted black and red from smoke and roaring flames. My blood ran cold and I shakingly looked at Pam. She was trembling like a leaf in an autumn storm with tears clouding her eyes. Before I could usher a word she ran to the inferno. "Pam! No!" I screamed after her before entering it myself.

The air was suffocating. The thick smoke and unbearable heat made it hard to breath or see. "Pam! Where are you!?" I cried out, hoping for answer and to my horror I did not get a reply. I covered my nose and mouth with my shirt and began to search the castle. 'What the hell happened here?' I wondered to myself, trying to find the princess and anyone who were trapped. I turned a sharp corner and ran into someone. It was Pam's father. "Robert what are you doing here!?" He asked with fear swimming in his voice. "I-I came to look for Pam. She ran into the castle!" I answered trying to fight back the tears as the King's face went paler. He did not say a word but we knew that we had to find her.

We ran through the halls what felt like an eternity trying to find her. We continued searching until we heard her yelling and screaming from behind a collapse wall and we couldn't get to her. "Let me go! I need to find mum and dad." Pam cried out. A man hand a strong hold of her refusing to let her go. "I'm afraid I can't little girl. All our plans would be in ruins if I let you escape." The man gave Pam a sickening smile. Pam stopped struggling for a moment as if to think over something. The next moment she ask in such a sinister and detached voice that I almost cried out in fear. "So you and your men are responsible for this?". "Of course, we needed a distraction so we could just take you." He replied. Pam looking down at the floor as if she was thinking about something. "Pam! No!" Her dad screamed, frantically trying to get to her.

"What can a child her age possibly d-" the man began to say but was it of when he began to choking on his own breath. He fell to his knees grasping his throat, salty tears rolling down his cheeks. I watched in horror then took a glance at Pam. "For all of this chaos you're life is now as good as mine." Pam said quietly "Men like you have no place in this world." She roared and the flames impaled him through the chest before it began to burn him from the inside out "Pam, please wake up!" Her father pleaded. Pam looked at the two of them, eyes dull with hate. Her small frame trembled, the fury of the flames lessened.

"I-I'm a monster...I killed someone…" Pam whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks before collapsing onto her knees. "We have to get her out of here." The King said, picking up his daughter, running out of the inferno with me following close by. Queen Reina raced over to us, eyes darting across our form checking for injuries. "Pam! You're alright." She choked, cradling her loved child in her arms protectively while Pam silently weep. "Listen dear, I know this is going to be hard for you but we will have to be apart for awhile. It's for your sake, you have to understand." King Leo kneeled down to Pam, hugging her gently. Before Pam could protest or ask why her mother cuts her off. "Dear, please understand that there are horrible people out there who are after those who possess great gifts like you. We don't want to be apart from you but it's the best way to keep you safe and you have to leave now. Please Pam."

It was heartbreaking to be someone you loved so dearly to go though such ordeal. There was nothing more I wanted to do but run to Pam and comfort her but I couldn't. I still was shaken up by what she had done to that man. I fixed my sight on Pam, who was gazing intensely into her parents' eyes through misty eyes before blinking away her tears that were threatening to flow out. As if finding the solution Pam gave them a knowing look and gentle nod. She had decided to leave the country. For the sake of those who she deeply treasured. "Please stay safe until I return. I will always think of you, mum, dad. I love you" Pam's voice cracked while bidding her family good bye. Then she turned to me.

"Let's meet again soon Robert! I'll get become stronger and protect everyone. Promise me you won't forget." Pam said, taking my hands into her small grasp and gave them a strong squeeze. "I promise." I nodded, returning her gesture. "Princess I will find you. We can be together." She gave me a weak smile before pulling her hand away and ran through the portal. I tried to run after her but it began to close quickly as if it was it knew I was going to run after her. I reached out my hand...

Beep-beep-beep-beep

With a thud Robert woke up spread out on the cool wooden floor. "Dreaming about her again were we?" Drew asked shooting Robert an all knowing look. Robert stayed silent, only nodding. Lately he has been dreaming about his time with the princess which made his heart race faster. He wanted to fulfill his promise but at the back of his mind another Pam was earning his affections. The guilt was starting to build but he couldn't help it. The two are so similar, maybe that's why he started to like Earth's Pam.

"Ugh I better get ready for classes." Robert got to his feet groggily weaving his fingers through his messy bed hair while walking towards the bathroom. "There's no point thinking too much about my love life when I have a mission.."

This chapter is so long over due so I hoped you enjoyed it and thank you for so kindly and patiently wait for my lazy ass to write more.
