Hi! AHeartForStories here with another chapter for 'Married' and showing that she most definitely didn't forget this story while she dug herself in her zombie apocalypse story 'Still Fighting'! :D

I would like to thank 'alwaysdoubted', 'Guest' and 'meyouandme17' for reviewing on the previous chapter. I really appreciate it. ^^

Please place a review and tell me what you think of the current chapter or the story as a whole. I have to admit, reviews motivate me!

I hope you enjoy reading this story as much as I enjoy writing it!

PS. My original plan was to keep this story with having the male characters wear their original shoes and gloves and all that, but since I have already spend a couple of years on 'SonadowStories' writing the male characters with clothes on, I will be doing the same here as it has always been a habit of mine.

Married: Chapter 10 - The Honeymoon - Part 1

"Are you sure you're feeling well enough to come along?" The ebony hedgehog asked his wife as they were about to depart from their home through the use of Chaos Control.

"I will be just fine, Hun. Don't you worry so much about me. Let's just get going." Rouge said, feeling considerably better than a week or two earlier as her mind was much to preoccupied with the honeymoon to worry about what the doctor had told her.

"Well, if you are sure... Chaos Control!" Shadow called upon his Chaos Energy to transport the two of them to their first destination, dissapearing in a quickly flash of neon green.

Of course, he was only going to transport them to the nearest trainstation. Shadow's Chaos Control without a Chaos Emerald was only useful when he knew what the area looked like and when he wasn't feeling any pain that could distract him from focusing on his destination. Despites his ribs, that were still aching as they hadn't healed as fast as he had hoped, he didn't know what their final destination looked like. Therefore a trip with something other than Chaos Control was necessary.

Not to mention that Rouge had insisted that they travel like 'normal people' for once, which had been mostly impossible with a Chaos controlling hedgehog in the house. She convinced him that it would be fun and a nice break from the 'Ultimate-Lifeform-Express', a nickname Sonic had given to his habit of using his ability to teleport whenever the opportunity arises.

Although, Shadow started to doubt his wife's definition of 'fun'.

The trainstation seemed anything but 'fun' to the dark hedgehog. It was too crowded for his liking, a funny smell hung in the air and it was chaotic. Being a master at Chaos Control didn't exactly make him like chaos. He prefered order.

"Your definition of fun astounds me, Rouge." Shadow told his wife as he looked around.

"I wasn't talking about the trainstation, Hun. I was talking about taking the train itself." She responded to his statement.

"I hope you're right..." He muttered as he looked around, clearly uncomfortable being in such a busy crowd.

"Come on, let's get our tickets." The white bat said as she made her way over to the counter to get both of their tickets. Shadow followed her swiftly.

She easily got the train tickets they had been hoping to get and searched for the platform they needed to be.

"According to those signs platform 9 is this way." Rouge said as she looked up to one of the many signs hanging above their heads.

"This is confusing." Shadow muttered to himself. The signs hanging up above did a poor job in showing the way.

He had never been inside the trainstation before. This would be the first time he would take a train aswell. But he wasn't even the least bit excited about his first train ride. Especially not if the train was anything like it's station.

The two of them made their way towards the escalator to reach the lower floor. They followed the several different signs hanging above their heads until they finally arrived on the right platform.

"Well, it shouldn't be too long for the train to arrive." Rouge said before she searched for a nice spot on one of the benches. When she found a place for her and her husband to sit, she quickly moved to sit down and patted on the empty spot next to her as she smiled up the hedgehog.

"I would like to keep standing if you don't mind." Shadow stated as he eyed the filth that gathered against the wall and on the ground underneath the wooden planks of the bench. Not to mention that the bench itself didn't look all that sanitary either.

Growing up inside the clean, sanitary laboratories onboard the Ark and in the underground laboratories of G.U.N had left the hedgehog unable to handle dirt and other kinds of filth all that well. Shadow figured he could be considered a germaphobe. At times it could get in the way of their job, but Rouge saw one bright side in all of this, atleast the house was always clean.

Shadow was somewhat relieved to see a train arrive and slow down to a full stop. He hoped that the train itself was much better kept than this place. And when the two of them got onboard, he noticed that it was pretty decent.

"Here's an empty seat." He told Rouge as he stopped next to four empty seats. Many of these seats were already taken, but now that they found one spot that was empty, he decided to take it.

"Oh good." Rouge said as she moved past him and sat down near the window, dropping the bag she had taken along with her on the empty seat next to her. Shadow sat down on the seat opposite to her and crossed his arms in front of his chest, leaning on the small table attached against the wall.

"It will probably take a while before we get there." Shadow muttered more to himself than to Rouge as the train began to move and leave the station.

The train passed many cities and villages and stopped at alot of stations, but hours later the couple was still not anywhere near their destination.

"You weren't kidding when you said that it was going to take a while." Rouge said with a tired groan. Just like anyone, she was quickly becoming drowsy from sitting in this train for much too long.

"Hmm?" Shadow hummed in question as he moved his gaze from outside to look at the white bat.

"I was just saying that you weren't kidding about this being a long ride, hun." Rouge stated, a bit annoyed that the other hadn't been listening, but she didn't mind all that much. By now she was used to his mind's habit of wandering off to places unknown.

"Well, you did want to go somewhere fancy on our honeymoon, so I-argh!" The hedgehog suddenly yelped as the train suddenly hit the brakes and made him move forward and collide with the table harshly, making his aching ribs even more painful.

"Damn!" Shadow growled as he slammed his fist on the small table as an angered reflex to the sudden added pain.

"Shadow? Are you okay, honey?" Rouge asked in concern and placed a hand on his clenched fist, the limb relaxing almost immediatly on her touch.

"I'm fine. That just took me off guard for a moment." He said with a pained sigh as he leant back in his seat and placed his free hand on his still injured side. The first hand opened to welcome the more fragile one in his.

Rouge gave him a small smile.

"Well, am I glad that you took care of my wing before we left." She stated. After she had left the hospital, Shadow had made sure that her broken wing was to be well-taken care of.

Strangely enough though, when they went back to the hospital for a check up, the doctor discovered that the woman's wing had already been healed much sooner than should've been possible. They even took x-rays of her other wing to make sure they didn't just look at the wrong wing.

The two found it strange as Shadow was usually the one to heal fast. But while Rouge's fractured wing was as good as new, his ribs were still hurt. Rouge told him not to worry so much and enjoy their honeymoon after two weeks of delay.

"We need to leave the train at the next stop. There we should get something to eat and wait for the next train to come." Shadow informed her once the aching in his ribcage had numbed.

"So this train doesn't go directly to the beach?" Rouge asked, to which he responded with a shake of his head. A sigh left her. For as much as she wanted to go on this honeymoon, she didn't like the idea of traveling for hours and take one train after another.

"Well, atleast we have the chance to stretch our legs and have something to eat." Shadow said. The hedgehog would be glad to finally have the chance to get up. While Sonic was usually the impatient one who could never sit still for long, he didn't exactly fancy staying on his butt for such a long time either.

And when a voice came through the speakers and the train slowly came to a stop in the next station, Shadow was glad to discover that it wouldn't be as long as he had previously thought, which was quite a relief to him.

"Oh, that was quick." Rouge muttered. Unlike her husband, she would've rather stayed on the train a little longer. The long ride had made her drowsy and lazy and therefore unwilling to get up for the rest of the day until she would somehow get the energy to move.

With their bags swung over their shoulders, the two of them got off the train once it had gotten to a full stop and the automated doors had opened.

"Hmm... There are alot of shops nearby. Maybe we can find a nice place to eat." Rouge suggested as the couple walked around trying to find the exit, only to find themselves in a large mall.

"Well, it is a large place. So there must be a shop we can eat at." Shadow said as he took a look around. It didn't take long before he spotted a potentially decent place.

It looked small, cozy and decent. But most importantly, it didn't look too expensive. Shadow didn't want to sound like a cheapskate, but knowing this honeymoon wasn't exactly cheap, he didn't want to waste too much money before the honeymoon had officially started.

It was no secret that Rouge was an expensive woman. That's why, atleast for now, Shadow wanted to afford everything her heart desired. He's been saving up just for this occasion as soon as Rouge answered 'yes'. He wanted to make these three weeks memorable for the both of them, especially after all they've been through lately. Certainly after the news they had received in the hospital.

As the hedgehog thought this while entering the small restaurant, he had no idea just how memorable this trip would soon become.
