AN: I haven't written anything in ... almost a year? At least not since last November.

Set pre-Sports Night show era. First meetings. Kim/Elliott.

"And this is where you'll be sitting." Dana Whitaker marched the new hire over to the two desks in the center of the main news room. She glanced up to where the producers milled around them, then to where Natalie Hurley had slipped up besides her. "Oh! I almost forgot, this is Natalie Hurley. She's our senior associate producer here at Sports Night." Pausing, she glanced between them, "Natalie, meet Elliott, he's our newest hire around here."

Natalie shuffled the scripts in her arms and stuck out a hand, "You didn't tell me that we were hiring anyone." She grabbed Elliott's hand in hers, "Nice to meet you."

"Same." Elliott glanced around curiously, then turned his attention back to Dana, "Do I have a desk mate or something?" He nodded to the desk across from the one that she had pointed out as his own, "Not that I mind or anything, I'd just like to know."

"Why is everyone crowding my desk?" Flouncing into the room from the editing rooms, Kim raised an eyebrow at the people around her. "Oh hey Dana, this must be the new hire that you told me about." Sticking out a hand in front of her, she grinned, "The name's Kim, I guess you're going to be stuck with me then." She grasped Elliott's hand in hers, a smile spreading across her lips, "Nice to meet you."

Elliott nodded, hoping that his stare at the way Kim's dress hugged her curves wasn't too noticeable, "I'm Elliott. Nice to meet you too." Giving Kim's hand a quick extra squeeze, he smiled a bit more at her, "I guess I'll have to get used to working with you then."

Dana smiled, stepping back from the two of them, "Kim, we've got a rundown meeting in fifteen - how about you take your time before it to give Elliott a quick tour of the studio and give him the lowdown on tonight's show." She turned to Natalie, who still hovered besides her, "See if you can get another copy of the script for Elliott to read before the six o'clock rundown, right?"

Natalie nodded, eager to get her task done and she scurried off, leaving Dana, Kim and Elliott. Dana looked between them again and glanced around, "See you both in the rundown meeting." As she departed as well, Kim looked down to where Elliott still held her hand in his, and she tugged it from his grasp.

"So uh, Dana already gave you a tour didn't she?" Kim paused, wiping her hand on the side of her hip, unsure on why exactly her palms were suddenly so sweaty. "I guess that I can probably sit with you and we can look over the script before the meeting." She leaned over, pulling her chair alongside Elliott's desk, "Come on, I'll tell you about my segment. It's a piece about the winter olympics, so I'm pretty curious to see what people think of it."

"I'm sure that I'll be amazing." Grinning a bit, Elliott pulled his chair besides Kim's, shuddering a bit as his hand brushed against her knee, "You seem pretty cool." Their eyes met again and they both looked down at the script in Kim's lap, eager to get to work. Though they didn't bother to speak much before the rundown meeting, instead, they kept their heads bent over the script in front of them while sneaking furtive glances at each other, hoping that the other wasn't looking the same way.

AN2: So, there we go. Kim and Elliott are my new power couple - their scenes are my favorites. Overanalyzing scenes, looks and touches are the best. Comments?
