"Phantom! Mr. Phantom, sir, please! A moment of your time!"

"No interviews, sorry!" He called down, hardly looking away from his current fight.

Betsy's expression morphed into one of thoughtful disappointment. She chewed her lip and buried herself back into her thoughts, trying her hardest not to let the rejection discourage her. She was startled out of her reverie by a young woman standing in front of her, arms crossed.

"What do you want with Phantom? What makes your news station or whatever so special that you think YOU deserve a moment of his time?" she demanded.

"I'm not with any news or anything. I don't want an interview." Betsy told her. The information wasn't enough for the Gothic girl, judging by the unimpressed expression she still carried. Betsy had one of the intuitive moments she frequently seemed to have, one that didn't logically make any sense but gave her a warm feeling that prodded her to make odd leaps of faith. This time, her gut-feeling was a surge of hope that told her this girl could somehow help her. Betsy decided to stay here with the girl instead of continuing to chase Phantom through Amity's busy streets.

"I'm from the Make-A-Wish Foundation" Betsy began. Whatever the girl expected, it was obviously clear that this was not it. Surprise flitted across the girl's face, quickly chased away with a mask of indifference.

"Thomas Roberts, a boy at Amity Park Hospital, is extremely ill. His biggest wish is to meet his idol and hero, Danny Phantom. I was hoping I could get Phantom's attention, but…" she trailed off. The girl looked thoughtful.

"Would anyone be filming Phantom? Who would be with the boy? Would he fill any legal papers, would he need any ID's or legal documents?" This time it was Betsy's turn to be surprised. These were not the questions of a casual observer, and her blossoming hope continued to grow.

"We would be more than willing to accommodate most of Mr. Phantom's needs. Tommy's parents would definitely be there for at least part of it, as well as some doctors and possibly some Make-A-Wish Volunteers. The parents would probably like to record it, but if that wasn't a possibility then we would be able to work around that. All of it can be discussed or worked around: at the moment, our biggest obstacle is getting his attention!"

The girl smiled and turned back in the general direction of the fight. The two ghosts were once again relatively close, and the girl hollered out.

"Hey, Danny! When you are done, this woman wants to talk to you!"

The boy looked almost incredulously down at the girl, then at Betsy. Despite being in the middle of a fight, he took a few moments to scan Betsy quickly and register whether she qualified as a threat or not. His verdict was unclear because the ghost Danny Phantom was fighting declared, with an indignant torrent of insults, that his lack-of-focus would result in his "head mounted on a wall". The strange girl turned to Betsy again and told her to sit on a nearby bench. As she did, the girl hastily left. Betsy could hardly sit still, practically bouncing in anticipation.
