Kol and Bonnie were slow dancing to an upbeat song. Both just lost in each other and it made everyone around them stop and stare for a little while, commenting about how cute the couple was. But they didn't notice. They were too busy trapped in their own world filled with hopes, promises and love.

Bending his head down ever so slightly so he was by her ear, Kol started whispering I love you and reminding her of all the things they were going to do once she finished her Doctor course at College.

Bonnie was smiling widely like a Cheshire cat, imagining all the things they could do together and all of the places they could go. A shiver ghost down her spine as she recalled the Christmas day they shared. A day she'll never forget.

Bonnie and Kol at Christmas.

"Kol! This is not funny! Get your little ass over here right now!" Bonnie demanded, chasing Kol around the beach house like he was a child.

"Nope" Kol called popping the 'p', looking back over his shoulder, then running straight into the wall. "Ahh. Damn it."

"Serves you right you big ball of cheese. Now why are you running from me?" She straddled him, knowing that if she helped him up he'd run away again.

Kol sighed, trying to remove Bonnie from off his hips but failing as she pinned him back down. "We promised no gifts Bonnie. You bought me a gift." He deadpanned.

"I know, but it's nothing big, just little bits and bobs that I had seen when Care took me shopping."

"But I didn't buy you anything."

"And that is fine. The only thing I want is you and I have you, so shut up and open your new groovy socks." She smirked.

Sighing again in defeat, he pulled Bonnie's face towards him to caress her lips with his passionately.

A couple of hours and a lot of giggling later, Bonnie had a blind-fold on as Kol was leading her to.. well she didn't know - it was a surprise.

...But she hated surprises, but she also felt a rush of excitement this time, maybe it was because it was Kol's surprise. Maybe.

"You ready?" He whispered in her ear, and a jolt of eagerness and wariness flashed through her. Slowly nodding her head, Kol gingerly removed the dark scarf which were covering her eyes. She gasped sharply when she noticed where she was.

.

They were at an empty apartment.

.

.

.

Completely empty, and not just empty as in empty lets get busy, but empty as in there is nothing inside, meaning one only thing.

.

.

.

"Bonnie Bennett, will you do me the honour of moving in with me?" He asks hopefully.

Feeling completely dumbfound, Bonnie just stared at Kol, wide eyes and un-moving.

An awkward silence dawned upon them, Kol waiting patiently for her answer and Bonnie trying her hardest to get her head round what he just said.

.

.

.

.

All of a sudden, Kol was tackled to the ground, kisses smothering his face and neck.

No words were spoken but the answer was in her kisses.

Hungrily ridding each other of their clothes, Kol's and Bonnie's body moved in sync and they expressed to each other what couldn't be expressed with words.

Moans and breathless whispers of pleasure rang through the empty house... Their empty house.

Ohh, what a good Christmas this is...

...And so much for not getting any presents.

"And the countdown begins. Everyone ready?" Ester calls, making sure all her children are outside with their lovers. She couldn't help but smile fondly at her kids, as they were all sickly in love. Each and every one of them. It was beautiful really, the way their eyes lit up and the smile that grace their faces, the cheerful way their tone of voice would go and the happiness that radiates from them.

Snapping out of her thoughts as strong arms encircled her waist and the lips that brushed gently against her neck, She scolded him slightly as she noticed a couple of people looking at them, "Alaric, not now. There are people around, and the countdown is seconds away from beginning."

"Who cares? I'm with my women." He smirked.

"Oh shush you." Pecking a teasing kiss to his lips, she started to count down.

"Are you ready for the new year Nik?" Caroline asked sweetly, smiling up at her boyfriend as he kissed her forehead tenderly.

"A new year. The start of our travels. The start of us, well the new start to us. New sexual experiences. I couldn't be happier." He chuckled as she playfully shoved his shoulder.

"So disgusting."

"But you love me." She rolled her eyes at him but the corners of her lips tugged upwards nonetheless.

.

.

.

"Ten"

.

.

.

The chanting of the countdown began, and Klaus and Caroline faced each other. Sending their love through their eyes.

.

.

.

"Nine."

.

.

.

"There is nothing in this world that I wouldn't give to have you Caroline."

.

.

.

"Eight."

.

.

.

"So I ask this but only once."

.

.

.

"Seven."

.

.

.

"But don't think about it."

.

.

.

"Six."

.

.

.

"And definitely don't over think it."

.

.

.

"Five."

.

.

.

"So Caroline. My love. My one and only."

.

.

.

"Four."

.

.

.

"Would you, run away with me."

.

.

.

"Three."

.

.

.

"Of course Nik. Always."

.

.

.

"Two."

.

.

.

"Always. I love you Caroline."

.

.

.

"One."

.

.

.

"As I love you."

.

.

.

"Happy new year!"

Capturing her lips in the softest embrace that they've ever shared, they kissed passionately and lovingly for longer than they should have, treasuring the feel of each others lips as the new year began.

Pulling apart and laughing childishly, they rested their foreheads together, but turned them ever so slightly so they could watch the fireworks.

"Rebekah won't mind would she?" Caroline asked, hoping that them leaving for a while wouldn't effect the wedding plans.

"They have almost everything completed and you can finish the dress off where ever we decide to go. Plus we'll be back before the wedding so any last minute things can be taken care of." He easily replied, as if he'd planned it all out.

Nodding her head in acceptance, she turned her head back, whispering against his lips, with a beaming smile on her. "Where too first?"

Thank you so much for reading! But I am sorry to say that this is the last chapter. :O

Also I'm sorry for any mistakes, but I only proof-read this once as I really wanted to get it posted today!

Hoped you have all enjoyed this.
