Who cares if you disagree, you are not me
Who made you king of anything?
Lily Luna Potter was happy. Like the kind of happy that made you want to spontaneously combust into a colourful array of fireworks, the kind of happy that could make you laugh and cry at the same time. She felt so whole.
It had taken quite the wake-up call from Rose. Telling Lily that she couldn't rely on anyone but herself to be happy, and that ever since her last year of Hogwarts, she had relied on boyfriend after boyfriend to keep her content. Like those blocks Lily used to play with as a child; if she leaned too much on her tower of blocks, it would all come crashing down. Literally. She'd been relying on someone else's happiness, and Rose, her wonderful cousin, had shook her out of it. Told her to live for herself, not anyone else.
"Lesson one," Rose started, like she was a Professor, "don't let them tell you who to be or whether to be happy or not. That's your decision."
Lily had asked her cousin, only twenty-two years of age herself, when she had become so wise.
"It's not me who's wise," Rose laughed, "it's my mum. She told me her mum, my grandma, used to say that to her. It makes sense, you know? Make yourself happy first, before anything else."
Lily could not agree more.
