Pokѐmon Journey I: Violet's Trial
Chapter 32: Questions & Answers
Alright everyone! Halloween Witch here! We've made it to the end of a beautiful story that starts us on the path of many others that follow after it. Now, I know you all have been waiting a really long time in order to hear the answers to your questions you've been sending me from the beginning, and it's about time I gave them to you. I will be listing the authors name and then placing all their questions after their name, and it will be in alphabetical order of the authors name, and then in the order that I got their questions.
Also, before we get started, a special shout out to my beta for this story (who I met part of the way through) who helped me with my mistakes and writing, Nornichica! Thanks so much for everything and I hope we remain good friends and both become even better at writing!
I hope you all enjoy!
This set of questions is from benboy6666:
Q: Are you planning to make Team Rocket a threat harder they become harder to beat?
A: That depends on the person in Team Rocket that you're talking about. For the grunts, they don't really get that much stronger, especially against Violet as their opponent. The only ones that really improve or get stronger are Giovanni and Rose, but the Giovanni is always defeated. Rose, while having been defeated a few times by Violet, has always managed to escape and pull some sort of nasty trick on her, so you could say that Rose is at a similar level to Violet and would be one of the only challenges to her. Until I give others that match her in level that is.
Q: Is Violet going get anymore Pokémon for her team soon?
A: Of course, as you've seen over the course of the story, she has a total of seven now. Amethyst her charizard, Amber her raichu, Chalcedony her unbreon, Zircon her dragonair, Ruby her scizor, Sapphire her articuno, Lovey her golbat and Black Spinal her rhyhorn.
Q: In series two is she going go around another region?
A: Yes, each different story will hold a new region for Violet to travel through; the next one that we will traveling to with her (and a new main character in the next story) is Johto.
This set of questions is from SimoneandThomasTogetherForever:
Q: How long does it take you too write a chapter?
A: It depends on how busy I am and how into the chapter I am, which I'm sure you guys can tell by the sheer length of it or how much detail is put into it. Sometimes my chapters can take as little as a day to write or as long as a month (especially the chapter that's related to the Pokѐmon League, that always takes me a month), most of the time it doesn't take me that long unless I get really busy with my college work or get writers block.
Q: Where did you come up with the names and personalities of the characters?
A: I came up with them by focusing on a personality or trait of my choosing that I wanted. I wanted something to that of a heroine for the story and I found this: The name Violet is an English baby name. In English the meaning of the name Violet is: "Violet. Viola was one of the heroine's in Shakespeare's play 'Twelfth Night'. People with this name have a deep inner desire for love and companionship, and want to work with others to achieve peace and harmony." I chose her name then because it fitted well, and worked with the character I had chosen and this name had similar personality to what I wanted.
As for the rest of the names, I tackled them as I went on. I wanted a name that matched Violet's with a same letter beginning, which is why I came up with "Vincent" for her older twin brother: "Vincent is a male name derived from Vincentius (from the present participle of the Latin verb vincere, "to conquer or win"). It fit with Vince's brotherly desire to battle Violet.
As for Alexander, it was an easy name to choose, not only did I like the name already (and I mean I really liked that name), but the definition fits perfectly: "The name Alexander is a Greek baby name. In Greek the meaning of the name Alexander is: Defender of men." Alex's protective behavior toward Violet really brings out that defender side of him that is a basis for his name.
I thought in the beginning that a name to match Violet's would be perfect for Rosalie. Both of their names are references to flowers, but in a stronger reference to Rose's name, her peak was at the beginning of the story, as the story passed on, Rose losses her mind further and, like a rose, she wilts as time passes by. She losses a petal with each battle against Violet or her allies, and by the end of the series, the flower will be petal-less.
Q: Will there be a cameo of the next protagonist soon?
A: When I get to the end of this page I will discus some things about the new story and give a fair idea of the next story, no image will be given to the readers on the look of the new character, but we will give a bit of information about the next story.
Q: Are the characters based off of someone you know?
A: Not really, the characters really just took their own shape as the story went on and flitted the personalities of their names and my reasons behind it.
Q: Violet's Team, is it based on a team you have had or random one?
A: Half of both to be honest, I've always loved the pokmeon on the team, but only about half of them were ever on a team of mine when I played the games in the past. I always loved Charizard, Raichu, Umbreon, Dragonite, Scizor and Articuno. On most of the older games, I only got to have the first two and the last one on my team due to the fact that it was an old color game with only the first generation, red version. But I guess that's my answer.
Q: Will you do an epilogue?
A: Yeah, when I get to the end of the series, but not now! I have another few stories to get through first!
Q: Will we ever see the cast again?
A: Of course! I know it's hard to let go of characters we've always grown so attached to, so in the next story I've included Violet and the boys quite a bit, and we have to have Rose, she kind of trying to kill them.
Q: Setting up for the next story? So I take it Giovanni wont disappear like in the games?
A: Eh… yes and no… that's about all I'm going to say. You'll find out in the next book.
This set of questions is from The Inquirer:
Q: Anyways, is the zubat a shiny? I mean, Amber and Amethyst are... So how many of her pokemon will be?
A: No, Violet's only shiny pokemon is Amethyst (her charizard), Amber is not a shiny and nor will any of her other pokemon be. It must have been a miscommunication in the reading, but Amber is a normally colored pikachu.
Q: Also, is this going to go through all of the regions? That would be cool!
A: Yes, like I said before to another person's question, Violet will travel to other regions, but we will have a new main character in each of those stories, to introduce new faces and new types of people.
Q: Are we going to see picture man again?
A: Yes, as we saw Maxwell at the near end of this story, we will continue to see him in certain points of stories, some more then others.
Q: Wow… so… potential love interests include… Alex… Bill… Luke… Am I missing anyone?
A: Not really, and Bill and Luke were never apart of that list really. Bill was too old for Violet and Luke was always taken with Daisy as we see later on in the story. While I didn't directly say that they were together, but gave hints at it, it's possible to assume that those two will be together in the future.
Q: I almost felt bad for Vince... But "Alex is so possessive" Sign of feelings?
A: Take it as you will, XD, I meant to put that there purposely.
Q: Are all of the pokemon going to be named? Depending on how many she has it might be hard to keep track of them all…
A: Only Violet's pokemon, as of now, have been named. Others of course will come about as time goes on, but you'll have enough time with each story to remember their names as the stories go on.
Q: Is this story going to go to different regions as well? With Violet becoming the champion in them? I'd be kinda interested in seeing her perform in a contest...
A: Like I said before, yes, we will be going to different regions with new main characters each time, but Violet will be involved, in some stories more heavily in others. Regardless, Violet will only remain champion of her own region, stealing that right from others she doesn't believe is fair, but she will try her hands at some other trials, she will try contests in the future.
This set of questions is from UgunsGreka Fans:
Q: I do wonder, why did you decide to name the pokemon after gems?
A: I decided to have Violet have a light passion for them, which would be why she would name her pokemon after gems. She relates them in color and the sound of the name to see which fits bets.
Q: Will you be adding any OC bios to your profile?
A: They are already up and are updated weekly with the chapters that go up.
Q: Wait, seed? I always thought Bulbasaur was a grass type?
A: Yes, Bulbasaur is a grass type, but under the classification on the pokedex, it is specifically called the 'seed' pokemon.
This last set of questions are from me to you my dear readers, from Halloween Witch:
Q: We know that there is a sequel to Violet's trial from the many amounts of times that you mentioned the series, but what is the next book and what is the summery? What can we know about it?
A: The sequel for starts is called Pokѐmon Journey II: Gwyn's Passage, it takes place three years after the story of Violet's Trial, placing all of our characters at the age of sixteen when we get to the next story. While I won't give away too many details, I will say that we will have a new batch of characters to follow around on their journeys named Gwyn Jalen, Aaron Verin and Tristan Agustino. All will have new teams of pokemon and a new structured story while all including our favorite characters from the last story, including Violet, Vince, Alex and Rose.
Here's the summery of the next story for you all to see when we get to come back after my break! Pokѐmon Journey II: Gwyn's Passage
It's been three years since the disbandment of Team Rocket and Gwyn Jalen is beginning her pokemon journey as well in the Johto region. Things seem normal until she encounters a red haired boy gazing into Professor Elm's laboratory and a young woman who seems like she could kick everyone's asses. And is it fight or flight when an old enemy of the young woman's come into play?
Also to let you all know, I will be taking a two month break before I start posting again to catch up on my writing as well as get ready to finish my semester in school for college. But on the date of May 24, 2014, this story will be posted.
Q: Would anyone be interested in become my beta reader?
A: For an explanation to all of you, I'm looking for a new beta reader. I give a huge shout out to my beta who had been for me for most of this first story, Nornichica, but she has noted that she has become too busy to assist me anymore and has to put me to the side. I am sad to see her go, but I was extremely glad to find someone who really enjoyed my stories and gave me great in sight on the chapters, helpful notes within the chapters, and hints to improve my own writing, and making a great friend in the process. I am now looking for another who would like to take up that role and help me with the stories following Violet's Trial and hopefully give me a similar experience as Nornichica did.
Witch's Note:
And now, this is the official end of Violet's Trial! Yay! Thank you all for following me on this journey and in two months time, I'll be posting the next story!
Have a good break everyone and let me know what you think of my answers to the questions!
Love you all and see you in late May!
