Okay, so I'm finally updating this. To the guest that wrote that review on Aug. 4th, I think I will definitely try to do what you said. Hope you guys like this one! We get to see some more Caskett and some of Ryan and Espo. I'm imagining that for Castle and Beckett they have been gone for 2 days. For Ryan and Espo's part, it's the day after they were taken.

10/13/14 Edit: So, I was rereading this chapter and realized that it was FULL of spelling errors. I was cringing as I read it. So, I'm proof-reading this again and editing this. Then, hopefully, I will write another chapter.

*Kate's POV*

Kate.

Her chest hurt. Why did her chest hurt?

Kate!

Kate quickly opened her eyes, and instantly regretted it when her eyes were seared by the bright lights. She quickly shut her eyes closed again, trying to ward off the dots floating in her vision. Kate blinked a few times, then slowly began to fully open her eyes. Her vision was so damn blurry, and she was seeing double.

Why does my whole body hurt, she thought.

Kate was lying on her back, on the floor. She had been moved to a different room. From what she could tell from her brief glance, the room was white, and was bigger than the last room she was in.

"Kate! Thank God," A voice said. The voice was familiar, but distorted. Her ears were ringing.

Kate tried to lift her head up but then instantly regretted it. A wave of pain and nausea swept over her whole body, and she rolled to the side, dry heaving. She must have been here for a while if there was nothing in her stomach. After she was finished, she tried to collect her thoughts.

My name is Katherine Houghton Beckett.

I'm 36.

I'm a Homicide Detective for the 12th in NYC.

I was kidnapped and tortured by Jerry Tyson.

I must have blacked out during it.

I have a boyfriend.

His name is...

"Rick," She croaked out. Her throat felt like sandpaper.

"I'm here, Kate," The voice said.

Kate turned onto her stomach, and looked around, forcing herself to focus and see clearly. She was in a square room. It was about the size of her living room back at her apartment. There was nothing in the room except herself and a big metal door on one side of the room.

She turned her head, and cried in relief.

Castle was sitting there.

She crawled as fast as she could over to him, but was stopped by a metal chain around her ankle. She tried yanking on the chain as hard as she could, which really wasn't that strong due to her condition, but the chains wouldn't budge.

She was stuck.

She tried to reach for him, but her hand hit something cool.

Glass.

There was an almost invisible glass barrier between the two of them.

Kate's hand rested against the glass, and Castle pressed his against it, mirroring hers, "Castle, are you okay?"

He looked fine, except for a few rips in his rich blue shirt, and his black slacks. He was shoeless, only in his holed socks. His hair was a mess, in that adorable 9-year-old way that Kate always loved. His eyes were shining with concern for her. She could only imagine how bad she looked.

"I'm fine, Kate. God, you... You passed out after a while. You looked so pale. He kept punching you and cutting you! I thought you..." He stuttered off, tears staining his face. "I couldn't get to you. He just kept doing it. After he was done, he looked at me and said it was my fault and I couldn't.."

Kate choked up. When Castle was in pain, so was Kate. When Castle cried, so did Kate. It was like their emotions were bonded and connected together.

"How do you feel?" Castle asked.

Kate went gave herself a quick examination. The ankle that wasn't chained hurt like hell, and she imagined that it was probably sprained or broken. She didn't remember that injury being inflicted, so it must have been post black out. Her legs had several cuts that had long since stopped bleeding, the blood now stuck on dry. The same was for her arms. Two of her fingers on her left hand were broken, bent at abnormal angles. Her stomach had several large bruises on it. Almost all of her shirt was torn, just barely covering her. Her left eye was slightly swollen, and it was still somewhat numb, so she figured that it was a new injury. She had more cuts on her cheeks and forehead. Her brain was pounding against her skull.

"I think I have a concussion, a broken ankle, and broken fingers. It's fine. I'm fine."

He looked at her, obviously not believing her.

"I promise you Castle, I'm fine."

He sighed, "How can I hear you? I don't see any cracks in the glass. Shouldn't it be more sound proof?"

Kate looked down and saw a small hole, just big enough to fit her hand through. She moved her hand from the glass to the small hole, and pushed it through. Castle saw it, and instantly intertwined their fingers. Kate suddenly felt very tired. She layed down on her stomach, keeping her hand in Castle's. She put her head on her left arm, finding a comfortable position. "Rick, can you tell me a story?"

Castle smiled down at her. "Always. There once was..."

One day before

Espo's POV

"Hey Espo, have you seen Castle and Beckett?" Ryan called to his partner across from the precinct.

Beckett always came in at 8:00 AM sharp when they didn't have a murder. Castle was always either with her, or would come in at 8:30 AM. It was now 9:13, and no one had heard or seen them since they left last night after solving the murder.

Beckett's files were still sitting on her desk, and she hadn't called in sick. Her coffee cup sat unused on her desk, still sitting upside down.

"Nope. Bro, this isn't like them. Do you think something happened?" Espo answered, swivling his chair toward Ryan.

"I dunno," Ryan said, frowning at his computer. "I'm gonna check their phones though and see where they are." Ryan started typing and clicking on his computer.

"I'm gonna go to their apartments and talk to Alexis and Martha." Espo said, getting up and grabbing his jacket.

Esposito arrived at Beckett's apartment. He knocked loudly.

"Beckett? Beckett! It's Javi!" He found the spare key that she had given him in case of emergencies, and opened the door.

"Kate?" He went through her apartment and found it empty. Nothing was misplaced. Just as he was leaving her place, his phone started ringing.

"Detective Esposito," he answered.

"Detective? It's Alexis."

"Hey Alexis. What's up?"

"Where's Kate? She's not answering her phone."

"She's not with you? She wasn't at her apartment or at work."

Alexis cursed on the other end, surprising the detective. Usually the young girl detested swearing unless she was very angry or scared.

"Dad isn't home either. Gram and I came back from the spa this morning and the apartment was empty. Dad's not answering his phone either."

"Okay. Alexis, I'm going to call Ryan, and we're going to come over, okay? Don't touch anything."

Espo ended the call, then called Ryan.

"Bro, we got a problem."

"I know we do. I tried to track their phones, but they are both either shut off or dead."

"Little Castle just called me. Said that Castle wasn't home when they got there this morning. Neither of them are picking up their phones. Beckett's apartment is empty and undisturbed."

"Shit. Okay. I'm going to tell the Captain. Can you get the security tapes from Beckett's building?"

"Sure thing. After let's meet at the loft and talk to Martha and Alexis."

Espo clicked off and put away his phone. He rode down the elevator and got the tapes from security. He texted Ryan that he was headed over, then got in his car.

What trouble have you gotten into, Mom and Dad?

Ryan's POV

Ryan walked up to Gates' office and knocked. He heard a "Come in." and opened the door.

"Sir. I think we have a problem," He briefed the captain on everything.

"Okay. Thank you Detective Ryan." Gates took her glasses and set them on her desk, then sat back in her chair, rubbing her eyes. "I think you and Detective Esposito are right, something is up. Does Mr. Beckett know?"

"No sir."

"Okay. I will contact him and let him know. Now, go to the loft with your partner and find the writer and Beckett."

She gave him a tired smile, and Ryan left her office. He rode down the elevator and got into his car.

Mom and Dad are in a load of trouble. Again.
