Richard turns to Kate. She looks at him, silently, perched on the arm of the couch. He turns his head, and studies her.

"A who, not a what?" he responds.

Dominick rolls his eyes, "That is what I said."

"What are you saying?" he doesn't take his eyes off Beckett.

"She is trying to tell you that..."

Rick cuts him off, "This is why you didn't take that job in D.C? This whole time I thought it was about me. I felt so guilty, because I didn't ask you to stay, but you did. I couldn't understand why you were giving up such a big opportunity. I didn't want to be because of me."

"It wasn't because of you," she argues.

Dominick interjects, "If you think about it, it kind of is."

She shoots her son a look. Castle smiles, seeing a familiarity in the look, reminiscent of one his own mother would give to him.

"So instead of five, we're going to be six?" he inquires.

"Yeah," she nods with a smile on her face.

"We're going to have a baby?" he grins from ear to ear.

"Yeah."

"You told him?" Castle replies.

"I had to. He plays jedi mind tricks."

"Or maybe he, like you is just good at the art of interrogation."

"That too," she admits.

He approaches her. She rises from her seat on the arm of the couch to meet him. He hugs her tightly.

"This is amazing."

Dominick puts his controller down. He looks at the two of them.

"And then we all live happily ever after."

Castle shakes his head, "Eventually, but things in our lives are never that simple."

"Are you saying I am a complication?" Dominick replies.

"No. I would never say that. I would never even think that."

Dominick smiles widely, "I had you going. I got you good."

"You know I think that we are going to get along fabulously."

"You hope. We are going to be living together."

"So Dominick other than the Yankees, and violent video games what interests you?" Castle queries.

"Fast cars."

"Of course. I have one of those myself."

"And cards."

"Cards? You're seven what kind of cards do you play? Are we talking about Pokemon here?"

Dominick scowls, "I am talking about poker. That is my game."

Beckett cocks an eyebrow. She turns to Dominick. "Your game is poker? Who taught you to play poker?"

"Sarah."

Rick shakes his head, "Who is Sarah?"

"My sister. She's good, but I'm better."

"Okay. Let's put that theory to the test. One hand texas hold 'em. You beat both of us, and I'll give you twenty bucks."

"Fifty, and I'm in," he agrees.

Rick looks at Kate in disbelief, "Your son is a hustler."

"This is something that I have to see."

"So, mom, you're in?"

She reaches into her pocket, and pulls out a fifty dollar pill. She places it on the table in front of her. Rick adds another fifty to the pile. Dominick reaches into his pocket.

"You guys are going down," he places his money on the table.

"Dominick why do you have a fifty dollar bill in your pocket?"

"I always have money in my pocket," he answers his mother.

"You are seven. What do you need fifty bucks for?"

"For occasions like this," he answers honestly.

"Where did you get that money?"

"I earned it," he responds.

"Earned it? How did you earn it?" Kate's curiosity gets the better of her.

"It is five weeks worth of allowance. I did dishes, I scrubbed the toilet. I even had to clean the garage."

Kate scrutinizes his facial expression, "All that hard work, and you're willing to just give it up, just like that?"

Her son smiles widely, like a Cheshire cat, "I am about to triple my money."

"I will go get my lucky deck," Castle leaves the room. He returns to the room with a deck of cards. He quickly deals them out. When they reach the last card Kate looks over at Dominick, whose face has turned to stone.

"Are you sure about this?"

"Show me the money," he grins.

Kate shows her cards, then Rick shows his. Dominick giggles, and then lays his on the table. The two of them stare at him with their mouths agape as he takes the money out of the middle of the table.

"You want to play again?" Dominick questions.

"Do you always get cards like that?" Rick wonders.

"Every single time."

"You should come to my poker game. The guys will never see it coming."

"Did you cheat?" Kate inquires.

Dominick shakes his head, "No. It doesn't matter what game we play, or how many times we play I always draw cards like that."

"Kate, can he..."

She cuts him off, "I want to say no."

Dominick sticks out his bottom lip, "Please. Can I play cards with his buddies just one time?"

"Once, but only because I want to see the look on their faces," she agrees.
