One year later, 17th February

-Hey, Dad. It's been a while- Rin bowed just like he used to do years ago. He knew he was being watched. Haru decided to stay back for a while, giving Rin time to speak to his father. His hands were clasped tightly on the handler of the baby carriage. He was moving the carriage a little in a soothing manner. Still, the little boy in the carriage just didn't wanted to stay calm, kicking his blanket off. Haruka quickly wrapped the baby into the blanket again. It was too cold for a baby like him not to have a blanket. Said boy whined, clearly displeased.

-A lot happened in my life. I got scouted and moved to Tokyo with Haru... you know, that guy I told you about. The one I fell in love with. He also got scouted, we're in the same team. Everything was perfect and I really could tell all my dreams have come ... We found out Haru was pregnant. I was really scared at the beginning, I felt I wasn't ready to become a father... But now, I just can't imagine other future than this for me. With my family...-

-Haru gave birth to the twins. A boy and a girl. Our son, Haru decided to name him Sakura. Another generation that has to live with a girly name... Everyone says he's just like me. Was I so loud? Mom said he would wake up in the middle of the night only at the beginning and he would eventually stop when he'll be one year old, but he's still doing it... He's doing it even more now, to be honest. Still, you would like him. He has Haru's eyes and my hair color and in my opinion Sakura looks just like Haru, but mom says he looks just like me when I was a baby- Rin took a deep breath and looked over at Haru, who was doing his best keeping Sakura busy with a teddy bear, so he won't kick off blankets. He still did.

-They were born as a preterm infants and doctors where afraid it might cause some problems with their health. For now, Sakura is as healthy as a baby boy can be. And as for my daughter... We decided to name her Hikari... Because she's our little, precious ray of light. And she's...

She is perfect-

-How the hell am I supposed to tell Haru that... that our daugther is...-

-I'm sorry Matsuoka-san. I'm terribly sorry...-

-Please... Please no... She can't be...- Rin sobbed, falling at the chair. He was to weak to stand. He was to weak to accept the reality. He wanted to believe that whole hospital was just making a sick prank on him.

-Matsuoka-san...-

-Can I... at least see her... just one time?-

A young nurse went with him, showing him the way. Beside, they didn't wanted Rin to be alone. He could hear children sobbing quietly in their cribs, some of them were sleeping, a few just laying and looking at everything in their eyesight. World was such an interesting place for them, full of surprises and things they have never seen before. One day, each one of those infants will be able to find their own dreams, go to school, meet friends, fall in love. They had whole life to live just the way they wished to.

She was supposed to have the same chance as the rest of them.

The woman led him to the crib that was standing alone in the room. The machines that surronded it were off, not being needed to sustain a life. It was too late for them to even try.

-Was she...- Rin tried to speak up, a bump in his throat make it even harder.

-Was she... Since the beginning...- he could say it. He felt that by saying that he was accepting the reality without her.

-She was alive- it was all he needed to know. That Hikari had a chance to fight. That she fought, didn't wanted to give up but lost. It may not be the best way of thinking about his own lose, but... At the moment he couldn't think straight. And the thought that she actually was living once was kind of calming...

Rin looked at the tiny body inside the incubator. Comparing to the machine she was so petite... Almost like a doll. Not asking for permission he opened the incubator and slowly took the girl into his arms.

-Hey there little one- Rin almost choked at his tears -I was supposed to be your daddy, you know... I will be your daddy... No matter that... that you won't be with us... I just wish... We could met. That I could take you with me to your mom and brother... And that we could see you growing up... Becoming a wonderful person... And we would be so proud of you... So proud that this beautiful girl was our daughter... You would be a stubborn one, that's sure... At the same time, you would be caring... and proud... and talented... and... please, don't leave us- Rin nuzzled little, lifeless body into his chest, as if he was hoping that his own warmth, his own heartbeat would bring her back. He wasn't ready to give up on her. He wasn't ready to let her go... But where's the point, if she wasn't with them on the first place?

-Matsuoka-san, I don't think you're allowed to- nurse tried to take the baby from Rin's hands

-Don't touch her!- He screamed through his tears, shielding his daughter from the woman.

-Don't... touch her... Don't- his voice was cracking, he felt so weak. Too weak to even protect his family. If he failed at taking care of his girl at the very beginning, what is he going to do with Haru and Sakura... He was too weak...

-Hikari... My little girl... you're alive... I know you are... they don't know you are... Please Hikari... Please... show them you're fine... Show them- tears started to fall onto baby's face, making it even more frightening, yet Rin had never seen her looking so alive. He knew that she was there, with him. That earlier she was only sleeping and now, she started to wake up. She was just sleeping. Like every baby in the world. Only sleeping.

-Matsuoka-san, this went too far. You have to leave her and go out-

-I won't! You're alive, Hikari... You're alive... She's alive!- the door flew open when a doctor went it, obviously alarmed by Rin's scream. Rin, who preciously tried to get his daugther's body as far from the nurse as he could, almost knocked poor man out.

-Please! You have to help her! Please...- tears were flowing down his face, whole body was trembling from... despair? Sobs he tried so hard to hide?

-Matsuoka-san, please, behave yourself... Oh my God- doctor finally took a glance at the tiny body in Rin's arms and the sight caused his heart to skip a beat.

The baby was taking big gulps of air, desperately trying to breath. She was shaking, but he couldn't say if it was her own reaction or caused by her father's trembling arms. But just one look at her was enough to say she wanted to live. They knew that even with a strong will like her she needed their help.

-Matsuoka-san, please listen to me- said man lined his eyes with doctor's

-We will save your daughter, but we might need your assistance. Are you willing to help us?- Rin's watery eyes sharpened.

-I will-

-Somehow... She was calmer when I was holding her. They said it had helped a lot. And I... I don't even know how to describe how happy I was... still am... That she's with us- Rin turned and smiled at the sight of his family. His little precious daughter was sitting quietly in the carriage, her dolphin-shaped soother in her mouth, exact opposite of her brother, who was thrashing around in Haru's arms. Little boy just couldn't stay calm, he wanted to see and touch everything. The fact that Haru was stopping him wasn't in his liking.

Rin approached them and skillfully took Sakura into his arms. Haru smiled that little smile of his to show his gratefulness and checked Hikari. Little girl has raised her head to see what was happening above her, blanket in her little fists. She was absolutely adorable.

-Hey, sweetie. Comparing to your brother you're an angel, you know?- Rin kneeled in front of the carriage, Sakura sitting on his lap. Boy streched out his arm to take his sister's hand into his own. It has always been good way to soothe him down, whenever Sakura was loud or upset just one glance at Hikari and the boy's smile was back in no time.

-She is an angel. Everyone keep saying that she's not only looking like me, but also quiet and polite like me- Haru joined Rin in front of the carriage, brushing Sakura's cheek with the back of his hand. They both smiled when boy started giggling and tried to push Haru's hand away.

-You're so modest, you know?- Rin ruffled Haru's hair, making his lover snort and children giggle at his gesture.

-Shhhh don't cry. Your dad will be there soon. Hey, little one, don't cry, please- Haruka tried to soothe crying boy, cradling him in his arms. Child's quiet sobs woke him up, he could swear such a tiny, barely audible sound wouldn't wake him up. Maybe he reacted that way because he knew his child needed him?

He was tired and sore from earlier, he couldn't soothe his own son's cries and Rin still wasn't back. He did tried to lay down with a baby in his arms, but it kept crying, hell, it started to cry even louder. Thus he had to get up, somehow it helped and boy was calming down. Haru adjusted blue blanket around tiny body and kissed tear-stained, chubby cheek. In response, child opened his blue eyes and looked at it's parent. Haru couldn't help when he felt an urge to smile. He was so afraid that he would fail at being a parent, yet there he was, successful in calming his baby. He felt his son relaxing in his arms and soon, child yawned and closed it's eyes. Haruka was so fascinated in his baby he hasn't heard when another person entered the room. Haru gasped when he felt warm hand touching his arm. It was Rin, he has finally came back. Haruka wanted to ask what took him so long, but his words died somewhere in his throat when he noticed a small, covered in pink blanket thing, so similar to the one he was holding. A sob escaped before Haru could hide it behind his hand, clasping it over his mouth.

Finally, they were together.

-We have to go, it's getting colder- Rin has put his son into the carriage and wrapped him into his own blanket, Sakura too tired to fight back. Last check-out for Hikari and he got up, hand clasping on the handle.

-Don't you want to stay a little longer?- Haruka brushed his fingers over Rin's. In response, Rin took slightly smaller hand into his own.

-No. I have said what I wanted to. Now I need to gather more memories to share with my dad-

The sun reflected in golden bands on their hands.

So, it's done. After a whole year and a few days (not sure how much) it's done.

I really tried to end it before the last water day but yeah, of course I had to wait until the very end.
