This piece was inspired by a deleted scene from the Deathly Hallows Part 2 where Ron and Hermione are being chased by Nagini. Hope you like it!

Disclaimer: If only I did own Harry Potter…

They were walking. Just walking. In calm, comfortable silence, they strolled around the black lake. They were avoiding to chaos of the castle, at least for a little while. Their fingers laced together as if it was the most natural thing in the world, which it very well might've been.

That supposedly peaceful silence was shattered by Ron's urgent-sounding voice.

"Hermione." He stated, stopping to face her. "I need to tell you something."

"What's that?" she responded somewhat flirtatiously.

"I love you."

"What?!"

"I love you. And I didn't just want to tell you that because we were being chased by a giant snake. That was probably a part of it, but that wasn't the whole reason. I wanted to tell you because it's true. I think it's been true for a while now. And I don't want deny my feelings for any longer. I don't want to make things unnecessarily complicated anymore. Because it shouldn't be complicated. Not with us. I love you, and you love me. At least, I'm hoping that's the case. And when two people love each other, it's not complicated it's simple. At least it should be. For us, it hasn't been quite so simple in the past. But I want to change that. Maybe I'm crazy for saying this, but I don't care. I love you. I know that I love you. And you should know too."

For once in her life, Hermione was absolutely speechless. So instead of talking, she kissed him. Again.

"So I'm not crazy?" asked Ron.

"No. You are." Hermione remarked. "But I am too."

And so they kept on strolling. It wasn't complicated. It was love.
