Previously in Timeless . . .

Isabella felt as though she had slept for a very long time. Which was sort of ironic seeing as though she had just been awoken from a few centuries long nap. Her body felt stiff and the remains of tears still stained her cheeks. Dazed from her dream encounter with Edward she knew she wouldn't be getting up anytime soon. The ability to dream walk was very complicated to perform and it required a lot of energy. As she struggled to focus on the reality of things and she decided to take a deep breathe to help take the edge off.

Her eyes slowly opened as she felt a hand, with the softest of touch, reach out to wipe the remains of the tears from her face. Her eyes sought out the face of the owner of said hand. When her gaze finally reached its destination she wasn't surprised when blue clashed with her brown.

"Are you alright?" Damon asked. His voice full of concern.

She blinked, desperately trying to find her voice. "I am fine, just a bad dream."

~Timeless~

"A bad dream?" Damon said giving off a sense of disbelief.

"Yes. I'm sure you've experienced such discomfort before in your prolonged existence Damon." Isabella stated with a dismissive hand wave not looking him the eyes.

Sighing angrily Damon jolted up from his spot on the bed and began to pace the room.

"If you didn't want to tell me that's fine but you don't have to blatantly lie to my face Isabella." He practically hissed her name with such intense displeasure it sent tiny tremors down her spine.

Isabella knew she was being un mistakenly rude to Damon considering how he had been there for her in her vulnerable state. Her only reasoning for this was that she couldn't remember the last time someone had been so protective of her. So attentive to her needs. She had built such a strong wall around herself that she was so sure no one would be able to find their way around her defenses. Yet Damon had. In the span of a few days he had looked into her very soul and had seen her for who she was. A mirror of himself, a person who had been used by someone they loved. Broken yet unwilling to let the world around them see how much pain they were truly in. Hiding behind a persona that rivals the truth behind hidden eyes. And it terrified her to no end that he could see it all her insecurities.

Isabella knew she could apologize until her last breathe but the damage was done. She knew her callous attitude towards Damon had him putting his own defenses back up.

Damon continued to pace taking very few glances her way. Lost in his own thoughts of what to make of the woman that saved his life. He had thought they had a understanding of one another. But clearly he had been mistaken. He hated the confusion that arose whenever she was near. Her scent clouded his mind and he couldn't think. Half the time he either wanted to kiss the hell out of her or just lock her in the basement until he had the answers he so desperately wanted. His old motto kill first ask questions later had popped into his mind on one occasion but then he would look into those doe eyes and all thoughts seemed to vanish. She had him all kinds of messed up and he wasn't sure if he liked it. He hadn't even noticed her approach him until he felt her small hand take hold of his own, stopping him mid step.

"Damon it wasn't intentional. My lack of communication skills comes from a lifetime of solidarity." Isabella whispered looking him in the eyes.

Damon knew what she meant and a part of him could relate and fuck anyone could tell you he wasn't the best communicator himself. But as he looked into Isabella's remorseful eyes he knew what she was silently asking.

Softening his eyes, Damon placed his signature smirk before saying, "You know you never thanked me for bringing you upstairs to bed."

He was rewarded with a tinkling laugh. "Is that so Damon?"

"Of course, what kind of host would I be if I had not given you the best accommodations." He teased.

"Oh? And those accommodations just happened to be your own personal bed." Isabella said quirking an eyebrow yet smiling brightly at him.

"What can I say it's the best in the house."

"Well then who am I not to give thanks to my most gracious host." She said with a soft laugh. Before rising onto her toes to place a gentle kiss on Damon's cheek.

Averting her eyes she took great interest in the view outside the window.

"Isabella." Damon said her name softly. There was a silent ache in his voice as he spoke. Gently cupping her face to look into his eyes. He seemed to search for something and when he found it he slowly descended his lips to hers.

At first she was hesitant but the with equal vigor she gave into Damon's kiss.

It was in that moment Damon realized he didn't want to fight whatever feelings he had for Isabella any longer, but he knew that even by making that choice that their lives would have to go through chaos and destruction before finally leading to what their souls both truly wanted . . . . and deserved.

Hey guys here is A new chapter. I know I said two but for some reason it took me all night to be able to upload this one so I might just put three up tomorrow. Some of this chapter was written by Kiki who swears that since she helped once that it means she can help as often as she wants haha. Next one will be up later tomorrow because I need to babysit my younger siblings so might be a while but I promise it will be up by tonight! Though it may be a tad short.

Time.

Time meant nothing to Isabella. To her life was simply timeless. With its changes came knowledge and from knowledge comes strength. A never ending cycle that she swore to protect from the days ever growing darkness. A duty she had always been proud to uphold. Always meticulous in everything she executed, Isabella couldn't help but be overly cautious of her actions. Aware that even the slightest miscalculation could lead to monstrous consequences.

All this lead to the dream. She hadn't anticipated Edwards ability to rejuvenate so quickly. It had shaken her that he had been able to alter her subconscious against her will. An action he was able to accomplish because she chose to give her blood, her strength to save Damon's life. And now he knew she was weak and that he now held the cards in his hands on which direction this game played out.

As tired as Isabella felt she knew that she needed to continue on with her plans. She had wasted enough time. Because even if time was endless, it still waited for no one.

And with that she made her way downstairs in hopes of gaining a few allies.
