A/N: Here's the next chapter for you guys, Um... I apologize for how short it is. I've been having a mini case of writer's block for this chapter for some reason. There really wasn't much to write... :( But next chapter is better so see you at the bottom.
Summary: Preparing for the rounds of Social Events is what my life has always been about. We don't work, we live from money our relatives send us and nothing more. Until firstborn Prince Sesshomaru looked my way and then everything changed and I do mean everything.
Rating: M (The lemons will be cut out. I might post it on AFF or something though... Maybe, I might change my mind...)
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha, it belongs to Rumiko Takahashi. What does belong to me though is this plot and any original characters that I add in there. I repeat: I make no profit off of this.
CHAPTER 10
After regaining her composure, Kagome stepped out the room. The several minutes with Inuyasha, finally releasing all the emotions she kept hidden, it made her feel so much better. She sighed and made her way down the hall, back to the ball with a new dress. This time it was a white dress, quite simple, nothing too fancy. Her hair was in a high but curly ponytail and she wore deep red lipstick.
The rest of the party went normally, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru bantered throughout the entire dinner.
"Half brother, " Sesshomaru began, "Why do you continue degrading yourself so?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You continue eating like a savage. It's alright to be one as long as you are ashamed of it." Sesshomaru never broke his gaze with the plate in front of him.
Inuyasha growled, "Wha-" But he was interrupted by Kagome who merely giggled, "Inuyasha, calm down, he's kidding."
"Do not encourage his animal behavior." Sesshomaru continued, putting a half a fork full of food inside his mouth.
"Why you little-" Inuyasha sputtered, "You- Uhg- I fu- freakin- URRRRGGGHHHH I can't stand you!"
Sesshomaru gave a fake chuckle, his face not even registering the chuckle, "Such language, we are at a table Inuyasha. Act like it. You are embarrassing me and lady Kagome over there."
Kagome set a hand on Inuyasha's shoulder to calm him down, it didn't do much. Inuyasha had jumped across the table at his brother and anyone can imagine what occurred afterwards. Sesshomaru obviously won without breaking a sweat. Kagome spent the next hour finding a new suit for Inuyasha which he accepted with a grumble about why she didn't defend him back there to which Kagome just shrugged and laughed.
Now Sesshomaru walked from guest to guest, talking and exchanging information. Kagome and Miroku roamed the place, Kagome really just didn't want to spend much time around people. Miroku opened a door for which Kagome thanked him. She stepped outside and walked over to the fountain. There was no one outside and the sounds of the crickets were soothing. She sat near the fountain and looked up into the sky with several strings of thoughts in her mind.
What should she do next? Kikyo now knew but that was no longer an issue, especially after the way Sesshomaru dealt with her. Kagome wondered what Kikyo would do, she didn't seem like the type to simply let something like this pass by without retaliating in some way.
Her eyes stared up at the sky, watching the stars twinkle brightly. They were beautiful here, unlike at Sesshomaru's mansion. Kagome sighed, now her thoughts were turning negative. Maybe she needed a drink?
"Miroku, mind fetching me a drink please?"
"..." He remained silent for a while, "I don't think that's wise."
Kagome shook her head, "It's fine, there's no one out here anyway so please?"
Miroku remained adamant on not leaving her side to which Kagome sighed, "Come on, there's no one here. I promise to scream if something happens."
That seemed to somewhat allay his worries but not entirely. "Alright, I'll be right back."
Kagome nodded then sighed, gosh everyone was so uptight about everything. She was outside by herself, near a fountain. What's the worst that could happen right now? The bushes behind her rustled a little before she felt a hand wrap around her lips. Her eyes darted to the side to see Kikyo with the red scratch mark on her face.
"Hi there, Kagome." Kikyo hissed and grinned, a grin that sent shivers down her back. "I was wondering when he was going to leave. He's a real pain in the ass isn't he?"
Kagome's eyes widened before she began scratching Kikyo's hand off her mouth to make a run for it but Kikyo wasn't having it. "Ah ah ah, not this time. Your nails are ineffective this time." Brown orbs glanced down to the gloves on Kikyo's hand and the strange scent coming off of it.
With a shocking realization as to what that scent was, Kagome struggled and screamed though it was muffled. The scent drifted up her nose, burning on its way up. Her vision began to blur and her body began loosening, a sign that she was quickly falling unconscious. The last thing she saw was Kikyo's face and her last words, "You thought this was over you little bitch? Well think again, lets find out how fucked up that mind of yours is."
N/A: Yeah, tell me what you guys thought! Next chapter should be pretty interesting...
