One owns nothing.

8 hours before the wedding

"Dad?"

"What?"

"Dad?"

"Max?"

"Dad?"

"If you say 'dad' one more time, I swear to God, Max..."

"Dad?"

"Right, come here, you little shit!" Blaine had just about had it with his youngest son, he was trying to stay on cloud nine after the conversation he had just over heard his ex husband having with his... He wasn't even sure what he would call Oliver, Kurt had clearly just given him the warning that if he even tried to come near Blaine, there would be serious trouble. Just as Blaine was about to chase after his son for annoying the living day lights out of him, he noticed Rylan's birth mother raising her eyebrows at the older man. "So I can show you how much I love you!" Blaine added a little louder, causing the Spanish woman to smile.

"No, but seriously, dad." Max started again as Blaine turned to look at his son. "I've been working on the playlist for the reception, please can you come listen?" He asked Blaine sweetly, how could Blaine say no to that face, as much as he felt sorry for his son for lacking brain cells, if the boy was asked to do something, he would go out of his way to make sure it's done.

"Of course you can, son." Blaine replied with smile as Max grabbed his arm and started to pull him over to DJ booth, which had Max's laptop set up.

"Okay, so I wanted to have a nice mix of music, y'know? To get everyone off their feet, even the old aged pensioners, you get me dad?" Max winked at his father and nudged him.

"I'm not even close to being an old aged pensioner, son." Blaine rolled his eyes at his son, he seemed to do that a lot."

"Did you want to hear a sample?" Max asked as Blaine scanned down the playlist. He didn't want to say anything, but he wasn't sure if this music was going to be too appropriate.

"You're going to show me anyway." Blaine sighed as his son hit play.

"Okay, so I was thinking that Ry can do a dance solo to this, after the wedding." Max explained with a very serious face, it was a few seconds before the music started.

All I Do is win, win, win no matter what,
got money on mind, I can never get enough,
and every time I step up in the building,
everybody hands go up,
and they stay there,
and they say yeah.

"Max, that's not happening." Blaine stated.

"Yes it is." Max brushed his father off. "Okay, then Melissa's going to do her dance solo to this." Max scrolled through for a little bit before he came across another song and pressed play.

I be everywhere, everybody know me.
Super, super fresh, what a dope styling.
Honey on my wrist, couple karats on my neck.
Givenchy, keep the chickens in check.
All these car keys drive them chickens to my crib.
Dru Hill got somebody slipping in my bed.
She give me IQ, that mean she get a head.
I just give the beats, I don't give a bread
.

"That is also not happening." Blaine sighed again as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"No but dad, think of how amazing this will be!" Max looked so proud of himself.

"Wait... Do they even know they're doing this?" Blaine asked with a worried look on his face.

"Well... No, but... I was hoping they could improvise, y'know?" Max said, Blaine looked at him blankly before replying.

"I'm so done with you."

Kurt hadn't moved. He felt frozen. He didn't regret calling Blaine his husband, not at all. He just regretted not saying it to Blaine first. Because after their little make out session, in the closet, he was pretty sure Blaine wouldn't have protested at all. But that didn't change the fact that Kurt was so very confused about everything.

"Kurt?" The soft voice of his soon to be daughter in law broke him out of his train of thoughts.

"Yes, dear?" Kurt turned sharply and looked at the young woman. She looked beautiful. She was wearing a pair of old sweats and what looked like one of his sons college shirts, her hair was still wrapped tightly in rollers, but her makeup was applied lightly, but Kurt still thought she looked beautiful.

"Are you free?" She asked nervously as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Can I talk to you?"

"Of course." Kurt replied as he waved her over. "What's wrong?" He frowned when he noticed the worry that was spreading across her face.

"I'm scared." She breathed out.

"About what?" Kurt was confused.

"This. I just... I mean I love Ry, so much. I just." She stuttered, not really sure where he words were going.

"Sweetie, if you love him, you shouldn't be scared." He smiled at the younger woman.

"No I know that, I'm just worried that we're going to realise that this was a bad idea when it's too late." She looked at her knees and mumbled. "Just like you and Blaine." Kurt's eyes widened but then he smiled.

"Honey, me and Blaine don't regret anything. Alright, maybe things didn't really go as planned, but that doesn't change the fact that I loved Blaine and to be honest, a part of me is still crazy about that man. But sometimes things don't work, sometimes the universe pushes two people together, but then decides it's not right." Kurt paused to take a breath before carrying on. "Blaine and I didn't break up because we fell out of love, we ended it before we couldn't be there for each other, he was always away on business and I was never there when he came home because I was in another country designing. We called it quits because it hurt me so much to be away from him, it hurt so much that all we could do was let each other go." Kurt sighed as he thought back to the night that they broke up.

"Kurt? Babe? Wake up." Kurt felt someone lightly shaking him as he slowly peeled his eyes open.

"Blaine?" Kurt asked, his voice still a little rough from sleep.

"Hi." Blaine smiled at his husband.

"You're home." Kurt blinked a few times before sitting up on the coach. He looked around as Blaine sat next to him. "What time is it?" Kurt asked.

"It's just after mid night, I'm so sorry I missed our anniversary." Blaine sighed as he scooted closer to Kurt, slowly stroking his cheek with his thumb.

"It's okay, you had work." Kurt replied quietly.

"I know, but I promised you." Blaine looked away from those gorgeous blue eyes he'd grown so familiar with. He looked around the house at the candles on the mantel piece that had slowly burnt out, along with the dining room table that had a single yellow rose in the middle, all of it was laid out so nicely and he was mentally kicking himself that he missed this. Kurt had gone through all this trouble for him, but there was nothing he could do about it.

"Blaine, it's fine."" Kurt smiled sadly.

"But it's not though, is it Kurt? Look at all this. You've gone through all of this for me and I've let you down." Blaine tried to blink back the tears.

"Don't say that. You had work, I know." Kurt sat up a bit more and grabbed his husband's hands.

"But you should be my main priority, Kurt, god." Blaine missed a breath as he stood up and ran a hand through his curls. "This isn't right."

"I know." Kurt whispered.

"We can't keep hurting each other, Kurt. All we do is fight when we do see each for the five spear minutes that we have and now this is the most I've seen you in nearly three months!" Blaine raised his voice a little.

"Sweetie, calm down, okay." Kurt stood up too and tried to put his hands on Blaine's shoulders. "I love you more than anything, okay?" Kurt's eyes were shining with tears. "But we can't keep having this conversation."

"So what do we do?" Blaine asked to fill the silent pause.

"Well, we have two options; we carry on as we are, sharing a few moments with each other in between our schedules or we..." Kurt said, not wanting to finish that sentence at all.

"We call it a day." Blaine whispered.

"We call it a day." Kurt repeated as a tear slid down his face. "I think I should go and stay with Rachel for a while." Kurt said as he looked around awkwardly.

"No, Kurt-"

"Blaine. Just stop. We've both been holding onto something that isn't even there. We'll just have to accept that the sparks gone. It's over." Blaine just nodded, both with silent tears slipping down their faces. Kurt was moving around the house, collecting a few things that he knew he would need for his stay at his friends. Blaine didn't even move, he couldn't even move. Once Kurt was done, he stood in from of Blaine a pressed a chaste kiss to Blaine's lips.

"I love you." Kurt stated.

"I love you, always." Blaine whispered back. And with that, Kurt was gone. His cab ride to Rachel's was horrible, and the radio choice, didn't exactly help him.

I'm waiting, for the perfect time to call you back.
Cause I remember saying, I don't wanna know the truth,
Can't handle that.
And I try to, just forget you,

But don't know how.
If only I knew

It's written all over your face.
Such a painful thing to waste.
Tell me now where do we go?
Now the future's not so clear,
I can't believe we've ended here
Where's the world that doesn't care?
Maybe I could meet you there.

Yeah, I'm sorry
If I slagged you down, I meant no harm.
When I heard the stories,
Said things I didn't mean,
Should have stayed calm.

But sadly,
You got angry.
And it breaks my heart.
You're so mad at me.

It's written all over your face
Such a painful thing to waste
Tell me now where do we go?
Now the future's not so clear
I can't believe we've ended here
Where's the world that doesn't care?
Maybe I could meet you there

Maybe I could meet you there
Maybe I could meet you there

It's written all over your face
Such a painful thing to waste
Tell me now where do we go?
Now the future's not so clear
I can't believe we've ended here
Where's the world that doesn't care?
Maybe I could meet you there

Maybe I could meet you there
Maybe I should meet you there

"Kurt?" Melissa bought him back.

"Oh, sorry." Kurt made an awkward laugh, willing himself not to cry.

"You do know it's not too late with you two, right?" Kurt asked with raised eyebrows.

"This isn't about us, this is about you." Kurt tried to brush her off, but she wasn't having it.

"I'm just saying, Kurt." She smiled again before holding her hand out to Kurt. "We'll finish this conversation off in my room, come on." She smiled again as Kurt silently agreed to let her take him away.
