"Caroline? Caroline?" Rebekah demanded as she continued to knock on her bedroom door.

"Go away! Bekah," Caroline exclaimed in annoyance from her room.

It had been two days since the unfaithful day and Rebekah had been attempting to get Caroline to talk to her or anyone for a matter of fact. These past days, everyone had visited to try talking to her from Elena, Bonnie, Stefan, Kol, Elijah, hell even Damon had showed up, but all to no avail, she hadn't spoken a word to anyone, other than telling them to leave her alone.

Rebekah only groaned at her consistent answers, "You know all I need to do is break down this stupid barrier between us," she stated, "But I love you way too much to do it." She paused, "But I'll do it, Care, I will seriously break down your door. You need to come out, Care..Please," she added in a pleading voice.

She huffed and sighed at the lack of response she was receiving. She looked at her watch; she had to meet up Bonnie and Elena in about twenty minutes at the Grill. Great! She thought she didn't even have enough time to go change. She needed to leave and well she did not want to, not when her best friend was this hurt, when she, herself could not come in terms with all that was happening. She could only imagine how hard it all must have been for Caroline.

"Okay..Care, I'm leaving for now. I'll be back later, I will leave couple of blood bags out your door, please Care, just drink them alright," Rebekah said as she set down the blood bags onto the small table. She gave one last look at the door, before turning on her heels and heading to her car.

As Caroline lay on her bed, staring up at her ceiling, she could only listen to the retreating footsteps. She felt hollow and numb and she couldn't help herself feel anything other than pain. She had locked herself in her room, for what felt like weeks to her. She hadn't even came out of her room to feed and she was undoubtedly weak, yet her yearn and grief for Klaus seemed to have overshadowed her hunger.

Her mother had been constantly trying to get her to talk, asking her to come out, to explain. She had even been making breakfast for Caroline every morning; even though she knew it would not even be touched. Bringing her blood bags, even talking to her out of her room for hours and all this made it very hard on Caroline, when all she wanted was to not feel pain, but pain was all she felt and she held on to it as she desperately waited for Nik to come back to her, waited for him to tell her he would never leave. She was pining for his voice, to hear him say that he loved her. But now she wondered if that time would ever come back.

She had stopped crying a day back, feeling only grief and pain, her whole body telling her to shut it off, but then she never did because she knew Klaus would have never gave up on her. So, she waited for even a small ray of hope and with each ending day, she wished, hoped the next day would be kinder on her.

She had barely even slept, with the images of Klaus almost killing her repeatedly replaying on her mind. She was terrified of the Klaus that had now replaced her Nik and she wondered how she would ever face him with having a nervous breakdown. She felt her whole body grow numb, even with her friends and family, she only wanted, no, needed her Klaus back.

Her friends had been visiting her non-stop. She would either lie on bed or seat quietly and listen as they said words of encouragement, hope and of how things would get better.

"Caroline?" Stefan's voice broke her eyes off the ceiling, as she looked at the door.

She closed her eyes, Stefan and Rebekah had been the ones who visited her the most, talking, pleading, shouting, well mostly Bekah and deep down she knew that they were her persons. She sat up straight as she sighed. She got off her bed and walked closer to the door and sat down on the ground.

"Care, I know you're listening," Stefan said as he heard her sigh and move closer. He had came by her house this past two days, twice or thrice even in a day. He was aware of how broken she was and this worried him. He noticed the untouched blood bags on the table, she needed to feed and of course, they could have forced her but then it wouldn't prove to be much of a help.

"I see you haven't been feeding," he remarked. He could not help but feel her light flickering away, she was broken, and he had not seen her like this even when Bill had died. He shrugged at her silence.

"Please, Caroline, talk to me," he pleaded. He heard her leaning on the door and he sat down on the floor as they remained like that for a few minutes, in silence.

"I know, I know it hurts but Liz, your friends we're all hurting too. All we want is to be there for you and we need you to talk to us, Care," he said his voice depressed. He felt yet another disappointment in her silence and he could not do anything to help her, when she did so much for him.

"Do you remember, when you promised me you would never let me go back to being a ripper?" he questioned.

She remembered what she told him and she had every intention on keeping her word. She listened intently to him, as she waited for him to continue.

"I held onto that…you know," he said shrugging as he recalled that day. She was the one person that made him cling onto his humanity and not even Elena's love made him feel more secure than her. She was there with him through all the good and the bad and that was what he loved about her.

"You never gave up on me Care, and I need you to do that for me, don't give up on me, your friends, your mother," he hesitated for a few seconds before he said, "Don't give up on Klaus."

She could feel her tears forming in her eyes as she gave a big breath.

"You were always our rock, now let us be yours." She tried to keep her clenched heart stable when she heard him say, "Let me be yours."

He stared at the door as he stood up; he had heard her move away from the door. He could not do much to help her and this dwindled his faith, he felt timorous at the fact that he had done absolutely nothing for her. He moved away slowly, when he heard the door unlock from behind, he looked back and he suddenly felt two arms around him.

"I'm sorr..I'm sorry..Stef. I'm so sorry," she sobbed into Stefan's chest. Stefan finally breathed a sigh of relief as his own hands tightened around her body.

He pulled her closer, "It's alright Care, it's alright," he whispered into her hair as she nuzzled into his chest, one of his hand calmly stroking her back, while the other was protectively wrapped around her waist .

"It hurts..Stefan, it hurts," she shuddered and he felt a ting of pain as he heard her say that. He needed to help his best friend and he wouldn't rest until he did so.

I know this chapter is short, but please bear with me, promise the next update to be longer.

Leave me a review.
