Applejack herself was very surprised with Applebloom's test scores. Even Grany Smith and Big Mac were speechless. Applejack was so astonished, that she took Applebloom to show all her friends - Pinkie Pie, Twilight, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash. Everypony was extremely astonished at this achievement, even Twilight dropped her jaw. The only pony who wasn't impressed was - of course - Rainbow Dash. As if she cared.

When the sisters got back to Sweet Apple Acres, there was a courier waiting for them.

"Is there a Miss Applebloom here?" asked the courier as Applejack passed by.

"Why yes there is. This is her, right here." replied Applejack.

"Good. Let her read this please. That's all I got for you guys. Gotta split!"

"Goodbye! Thank you!" yelled Applebloom as the courier began to run. "So whatcha waiting for, Applejack? Open it! I wanna see what's inside!"

Applejack opened the letter, very slowly, as if she was defusing a bomb. Then she slowly pulled out a fancy looking piece of paper. Inscribed on it was very long letter, written perfectly as if by 'magic.' Applejack briskly read over it.

"So what's is say, big sis?" Applejack asked jumping up and down very excitedly.

"It... it's a letter from The Hesh University for blah blah blah. It's a college for really smart ponies. The name is too long. The pony who wrote this letter has already written to the mayor, and you are - and I quote - 'to be escorted to Town Hall immediately to be shipped off to the school with Ponyville's former champion - Daventri Arcidius.' "

"Who's Daventri Arkidyus?" asked Applebloom, pronouncing the stallion's last name incorrectly.

"Beats me."

"So... does this mean I'm leaving Ponyville? I'm leaving the Cutie Mark Crusaders? I'm leaving behind Sweet Apple Acres and the cider?!"

"Calm down now sugar-cube. It doesn't say you have to 100% absolutely have to go." Applejack read through the letter once more. "Wait, nevermind, it does say you must attend. Or a fee of 1 MILLION BITS will be fined to our family! We don't have that kind of money! I'm sorry Applejack, but you have to go. Unless you want to live on the streets of Manehatten. But there is a summer break and winter break. Heck, you'll be home when winter-wrap up comes along!"

"Well, we better go tell my friends and head down to the mayor's house."

And so they went. The sisters went off, spread the news all over Ponyville that 'Ponyville has a new champion,' or so said the letter. They told Scootaloo and Sweetie Bell the bad news that Applebloom was leaving them. They even told Applejack's friends. Finally after all the goodbyes and hugs, Applejack and Applebloom had finally made it to town hall. When they went inside they saw the mayor and a stallion.

I'm gonna take a wild guess that the stallion over there is the Daventri Arkidyus guy. thought Applebloom.

"Mrs. Mayor, who is this stallion?" asked Applejack.

"Applejack, Applebloom, I would like you to meet Daventri Arcidius, Ponyville's champion for longer than I've been mayor. He was the last pony from Ponyville to be sent off to The Hesh University for Gifted Juvenile Ponies. And according to the test results, Applebloom is the next one. Mr. Dave will be escorting you there, Applebloom."

Oh. So his last name is pronounced ar-sid-ee-us. Wait a second... Mr. Dave?! As in the Dave that watched us take the test? The stallion who yelled at Scootaloo? Wow... just wow. I can't believe HE took this test and did well on it. thought Applebloom to herself, completely ignoring what Applejack and the mayor were talking about.

"...but mayor"

"Enough miss Applejack! Your sister is to be escorted at once by Daventri and a few pegasi to the school. Applebloom will be back for winter wrap-up and summer break."

"Okay mayor. But if anythin' happens to her..."

"Don't worry about a single thing. Not a single thing. Daventri will be staying with Applebloom to guide her and protect her."

Applebloom snapped back to reality and the sound of her name. Daventri began to walk outside and Applebloom attempted to follow him and ask some questions. But Applejack stopped her and made her promise that she would be back for winter and summer break. Of course, Applebloom promised. As if she could leave and never see her friends again. Then she succesfully walked out the door to talk to Daventri.

"Wait! Applebloom!" Applebloom turned around to see Twilight - the last person she expected to see - come running at her with a book. "Here...take...book...will...help..." She stopped and took a breath. "Applebloom, I want you to have this book. It'll keep you entertained at the school. Good luck!" Then she sprinted off again.

"So Mister Dave - what's it like at the school?"

"Chrome. Difficult. But the meals were okay."

"What do you mean by chrom and difficult?"

"Oh you'll see little, you little filly."
