Today was Hoenn's annual talent show and May had prepared a song that she hoped would not only guarantee a win, but would also show her feelings to Drew.

She wasn't nervous as the MC called her on stage. She had everything she needed and she was ready.

She was wearing a gorgeous pink dress, with her hair in cute pigtails tied with ribbons.

She immediately saw Drew sitting in the front row. He was in for a big surprise.

May walked up to the microphone, clearing her throat, then saying, "I dedicate this song to Drew Hayden. This is what I feel about you."

The stage lights dimmed and a soft melody began to play as May took a deep breath and started to sing.

You're a rose, sweet as can be, but your deceptive thorns puncture me. I'm bleeding on the inside, coming out. I'm trying a little too hard not to shout. You make me laugh until I cry again. Loving you feels like a sin. You tossed my heart in the trash bin. My heart is slowly caving in.

(chorus)

And I can't breathe. Do you even love me? It's kind of hard to tell, when you're teasing me and making me yell. Do you care about me? Or are you too blind to see? I like you. I love you. But you hurt me. It's all too cruel. I'm dying yet I'm alive. It's a struggle just to survive.

(chorus end)

Do you like my pain? Tears are falling like rain. I should've known you'd never love me. A pair like us just couldn't be. And now I'm in pain. With you I have no gain.

(Go back to chorus)

Drew, are you listening? No, don't say a word. I wanted you to kiss me. But now I see that's absurd.

(chorus once more)

May looked over at the crowd. Everyone was clapping, but many were crying as well. Even the judges were teary-eyed.

Before she left the stage, May glanced over at Drew. He was looking down at the ground beneath him, look sad and thoughtful.

May just turned away and walked backstage, patiently waiting for the judges to tally up the scores and proclaim a winner.

Unsurprisingly, May won and received a giant trophy. The crowd demanded an encore, but May politely declined as she descended from the stage to look for Drew.

She found him right away. He was leaning against a tree, staring out into is own little world.

"Hey," said May as she approached him.

"Wow...," was all he said in reply. "Do you really feel this way about me?"

"Yeah...,"said May sadly. "You always tease me and hurt my feelings. But..." She stopped. She didn't want to finish her sentence.

"But...you still love me?" Drew answered.

"Yeah," said May with a sigh. "Regardless of all your teasing, I'm still madly in love with you."

Drew smiled a little. "Would it help if I told you I like you too?"

May smiled back at him. "That's a start."

Then, before she knew what was happening, Drew leaned in and kissed her. It felt so warm. So right. She did love him despite the pain he put her through before.

And that was the perfect end to a perfect day. May's first kiss. She will never ever forget it.
