/West Police Station/
A cop is sitting, looking through the mirror. His concentration is broken, when the door opens behind him. "Eddy, he talked yet." The officer sits down with two cups of coffee, handing one to eddy. Eddy shakes his head, "Nope…Look at him…hasn't moved in the past 3 hours, Johnson and Rick can't get anything out of this guy, he hasn't even looked at them." Eddy takes a sip of the coffee, "What the hell Mark, no sugar." Mark grins back, "Oh right, sorry, I forgot you take sugar." Already hearing the sarcasm, Eddy puts the coffee down, muttering "Asshole". He then looks back at the mirror.
Through the mirror, he saw a desk and 3 chairs, one in the back, and two across the desk. Johnson was sitting just looking at the suspect. While Rick starts walking around the suspect, and says, "Alright let's try this again, you're pretty much screwed, all the evidence is against you, there is nothing left for you to do except…" This quote had been said countless time already, but the suspect hadn't responded at all. Eddy zoned out the pointless interrogation, and started staring at the suspect, having wide disbelief in his eyes, as starts feeling fear. "What a monster." The cause for such disbelief is the suspect's age. It's a young man sitting, in a chair, with his hands on the table. His clothes were ripped in a few places, he was covered in bruises, and his clothes were soaked in blood. His natural black hair had a deep hint of red all across it, perhaps from the dried blood present there. His face had much dark markings across it, again probably from the dried up blood on it. It looked like he was stabbed a hundred times, but the closer you look, the faster you realize the horrible truth is even worse. It's not his blood.
Even that isn't the most chilling aspect about him, it's his eyes. Pure black, they stared straight at the mirror. Not even a single a movement of the eyeballs, no pupil dilation, and if one is not paying attention you can't even see him blinking. Those black eyes seem normal at first, but the more you start looking closer, the more out started looking deeper. They start changing, you start to feel a chilling tingle behind on your spine, you start sweating, its starts getting harder to breath, and you start feeling like your being choked. The room feels colder. And slowly you start getting scared, because you realize, there is no escape.
Eddy shakes his head, and drinks his coffee, trying to forget those scary eyes, and thinking, "I already got scared, shit." Ricks walks inside the room, rubbing his forehead…"Goddamn what is this guy made off. He didn't even blink…and his eyes."
Eddy looks back at him, having regained his composure, "You got scared too didn't you"
Already understanding what he meant, Rick nods, "Fuck, I did, I have talked the most fucked up guys, fuckin rapists, murders, robbers, for the past 16 years…but this kid, he fuckin scares me. I didn't even wanna be alone in the room with him; it felt like I was haunted. It didn't feel safe. Fuck I feel like a pussy."
Eddy shakes his head, "Your fine, no one can say shit, this is the ripper we are talking about. 10 girls were ripped apart and displayed like trophies by this guy, and the rest, no one even knows where the bodies are. No one blames you for feeling scared, I was here the whole time, and I got scared just looking at him." Eddy looks back at the interrogation room "Those eyes keep staring at us, like he can actually see us. Damn why such do fucked up people exits. Never mind, Go get some coffee and shake it off."
Rick nods, and walks out. Mark looking at the case files turns to eddy, "He's a freak…you think he is one of those?"
Eddy curiously asks, "One of what?"
Mark replies, "You know those freaks on the news, with powers and stuff…what they are called again?"
He got surprised for a second, till he shook his head, "Mutants…nah I don't think so, he might be a killer, but mutants usually can do use powers, he hasn't done anything, not even moved."
Mark tries to lighten up the mood. "Maybe that's his power."
Eddy grins a little, and turns back towards the suspect, "Yeah haha, play dead."
Another man enters the room, and says, "You guys having a good time, did y'all forget all those girls ripped apart, and hung like fucking wallpapers huh. Did you y'all forget, that we might be looking at one of the most fucked up serial killers in the history of this country."
They both stand up to greet him, "Commissioner Anderson, we tried but we couldn't get anything out of him, this guy is a fucking wall."
Anderson stares at them, not convinced, "Well you should have tried harder."
Eddy having had enough, "Why are we even questioning him, we found him at the murder place, with the blood of the family on him. The poor girl ripped apart and strung up, like….fuck….and He didn't even move, just looked at us. He didn't even resist arrest, and hasn't even moved or said anything since then, it's gotta be him, look at his eyes there isn't even any shock, he looks perfectly calm, like this is a everyday thing. Only a messed up fucker is capable of that, and the only one that fits that category is right there. He's the fuckin killer, even if he admits or not."
Anderson slams his fist on the desk, and shouts, "That's not the point. What about the girl, we still don't know if she's alive or not, and if by luck she is, where she is kept."
Mark replies, "Sir, what about the feds."
Anderson turns towards the door, "They are outside, they are inside some sort of an RV, I guess they brought their toys with them. There was high level tech, from what I saw:
Mark elaborates, "Why wouldn't they, history has just been made, a serial killer of this high of a count, hasn't been seen since ted Bundy, the way…the feds know what they are dealing with, they have all the equipment ready to take this guy out, if anything happens. This is on national news, sir."
Eddy, having calmed down, "Why haven't they questioned him yet.
Anderson nods, "I have been wondering about that, I don't know, they just left him here, when they took his things. They must be really interested in his things.
Eddy laughed, "So they left the most dangerous and craziest guy in this state with us, must trust us a lot.
Anderson just shook his head, "The whole building is surrounded by at least 100 swat member, there are 10 snipers in the roof top, and there are another 10 swat members waiting outside the interrogation room, ready to take this asshole down, if he even thinks about making a move."
Mark looks back at the interrogation room, "Man look at him, just a kid, how old you think he is."
Anderson looks at the same direction, "Maybe seventeen or eighteen, the feds got his wallet."
"Damn, I can't believe a kid could do something like this."
"He aint a kid. He's a monster." They turn to see Johnson, and Rick there.
Johnson looks turns toward Anderson, "It's time sir."
Rick hands over to Anderson, the suspect's wallet, "They finally gave it up, they still have his phone."
Anderson takes the wallet, "It's fine, and this is all we need".
Anderson and Johnson headed to the interrogation room. The swat members outside, nodded at the commissioner, and let them through.
As soon as they open door, they feel Anderson walks in front of him, taking a seat right across of him, while Johnson sits next to him.
Anderson opens the suspect's wallet, "Well then, let's get started. Jason Todd right, we finally were able to get your wallet, born in Gotham city….no wonder."
"So Jason, how did it feel? Their life slipping…just like him"
Jason's eyes suddenly widened, and he turned towards the voice, there was nothing there.
Eddy got surprised, "Mark, he actually moved."
Anderson saw his movement as a sign that he was listening, "Look I will as real as I can be, you don't have much chance of getting out of this, other than maybe life sentence…even that is unlikely with all the charges. But that girl is still alive isn't she, just tell us where she is, and I promise, I'll try my best to do something to help, maybe try to get you out of death penalty, or reduce your sentence if you are lucky, and get you help. Just telling them, you're from Gotham would be enough for them to reconsider."
Johnson slammed his hand on the table, "Are you kidding me, this monster doesn't deserve shit, Just tell us where the hell she is, you sick bastard. And I can finish this off, right now, a bullet in your head, and you won't even feel a thing."
Anderson shouted, "Stand down lieutenant."
Johnson leaned towards Jason, "Killing the other ten girls wasn't enough for you, you motherfucker…now you want to have a slave too."
Anderson stood up quickly and pulled Johnson back, "Stand-down."
While stumbling back, Johnson finished with, "I wish they nuked Gotham, at least then we would get rid of the psychos like you."
Anderson opened the door, and shouted, "Get out now."
Johnson walked outside angrily, with Anderson following, "The hell is wrong with you, threatening a suspect, if his lawyer was here…you could have just let one of the most dangerous serial killers lose, because of your big mouth."
Johnson surprised asked, "But sir, he is the ripper…why would…"
Anderson quickly interrupted him, "Lieutenant…think about the girl…do you want her to die because of your anger."
Realizing what he had done, he looked down in shame, "I'm sorry sir"
Anderson put his hand on Johnson shoulder, "So many people have died, we have to save at least this one…we are supposed to protect the people…and we failed completely. This girl needs to survive, someone from this nightmare has to…or we resign right here and now. People will lose faith in us, and more men like him will rise…she needs to live, and I am willing to do anything to accomplish this, you got that."
Never seeing his commissioner so angry, Johnson quickly agrees, "I understand, sir. "
The commissioner calms down as well, and turns back to the door to get inside. But he can't open it, "what the hell, why is it locked."
"It can't be…" He tries to open it as well, but it's futile. The door doesn't open.
Officer Rick, come running to the hallway, "Sir…the room is pitch black"
Anderson angry and confused, shouted, "What do you mean, the room, is pitch black."
He then turned towards the door, and started shouting again, "Don't do this Jason, this will be worse for you then before…damn."
Johnson shouts, "What the hell is that?"
Black smoke starts coming out from the bottom of the door.
Johnson realized what it was, "It's smoke."
Frustrated Anderson turns toward Rick, "What the hell is going on in there."
"Look for yourself." They ran back to Eddy. As they went inside the room, they all looked at the window to the interrogation room. It was literally pitch black, they couldn't see anything.
"How did this happen?" asked Anderson.
Eddy just shook his head franticly, "I don't know, it's just slowly started getting darker, around him, I thought it was the lights at first, but then just like that, everything became pitch black."
Johnson added, "The light are still on, I checked the power. Something else is making the room dark."
Eddy suddenly paused, making everyone concentrate on him. He then spoke in a fearful voice, "is…is he…oh god, he's a mutant?"
They all became quiet for a few seconds. Anderson then quickly turned to Johnson, "Call the Feds…NOW."
/Outside the Station/
"This is Kelly Anderson from Fox news, and at this moment in the police station behind me, one of the most brutal serial killers in the history of this country is being held, having over ten counts of brutal murders of young teenage girls as he moved along motel to motel, he was named the, and his reign has finally come to an end, and we finally have the real name f this monster…Jason Todd."
/Wayne Manor/
Alfred is cleaning the living room, as he hears the news. His eyes widen, when he hears about Jason Todd, "Master Bruce…"
/Flashback Starts/
"Sir, have you finished packing."
Bruce zipped up his backpack, "Yeah I'm done…Alfred this is for you."
He looks at Bruce's hand, and sees a flash drive, "What's this for, sir."
"I am going to be out of this mansion, Alfred. This place is my safe house, and now I am going to be out of it. There is a big chance I will be in trouble, this is my escape plan"
Realizing its importance, Alfred asked "When do you need me to use this sir?"
Bruce picked up his backpack and started walking downstairs with Alfred following him. Bruce started explaining, "If you ever find me in trouble, either through my phone, or some other way. Plug this in the computer, and follow the instructions I have put in it. This will be my last hope…and I trust you with it Alfred."
Alfred quickly put the flash drive within his pocket, "Well I hope I never have to use it sir, forgive my curiosity…but what exactly is in it sir."
Bruce turned and said with ominous eyes, "A key, Alfred…a key to a whole new world."
/Flashback Ends/
Alfred quickly hurries to his cupboard, and takes out the flash drive and plugs it in the computer.
/Detroit/
/East police station/
"Get a chopper up there now. There is something going on at the west station. They want eyes from the sky"
"Wait isn't that the place with the Ripper."
The two officers both rush towards the chopper, and get inside.
"We are taking off right now; we will reach in 3 minutes."
The chopper lifts off, but suddenly starts shaking.
The officers panic, "What the hell, what's going on. What are you doing?"
The other one replies, "I can't control it, it's just stuck…oh my god, what the hell? The rotors aren't even moving"
"What…then how are we in air."
Suddenly they hear a deep voice, "That would be me…Now where is the ripper." A shadow man, wearing a cape and helmet appears before them. The thing that scared the officers though was how the shadow man, was floating in the air. The officers shot at him, but the bullets just stopped mid-air right before they reached him.
The shadow man coldly replied, "This is your last warning"
He stretched out his hand, and start closing his fingers into a fist. The chopper started to compress, the blades already wrapped around the body, and then dents started appearing. Metal croaking, and giving out into pressure. It was becoming smaller and smaller.
They frantically tried to push at the walls, but they couldn't. It slowly started getting smaller, they barely had any room to move
The shadow man asked again, "Where is he?"
One of them finally gave in, "He is in West Police Station…please let us go"
He stopped his hand midway, and the compressing stopped.
The two officers, breathed out in relief.
He quickly formed his fist again, and the chopper crushed on itself. The screams of the officers only lasted a second, along with the sound of snapping bones, and muscle tissue. In a few seconds, small drips of blood started to fall out of the metal scrap ball. With a quick fling of his hand the, ball fell.
He then turns west, and speaks with a deep voice, "I finally found you."
/Wayne Manor/
The screen had program running on it, with Bruce's voice explaining, "If you are listening to this…I am in some sort of trouble I can't get out off, and you have to help me Alfred."
"But first pick a choice below, of how much trouble you believe I am in."
Suddenly the page changed and show many files. He scrolled down and there were literally 1000's of scenarios listed. Alfred didn't have time to look at each one, so he used word finder, and typed in "Police custody Jason Todd phone missing".
And quickly a scenario came up, "I am in police custody as Jason Todd, and they have my belongings."
He clicks on it, and another video pops up. Bruce's voice starts explain again, "Damn, this is something you can't fix from here, I'm sorry Alfred, and I didn't tell you about this. Go to the fire place, and twist the left lion's head clockwise. It should open up, and there will an iPod in the neck, play it."
Alfred was confused, he never knew about this but he did as he was told. He went to fireplace, and followed the directions. Sure enough he found the iPod, he turned it on, and all of the space was covered by videos. The first one was named "Alfred". He clicked on it, and another video popped up of Bruce. "Alfred, if you are seeing this, I am in a lot of trouble. The computers and gadget in my rooms are not enough to get me out of this mess. So you need to go to my…safe house."
Alfred perplexed, thought, "Safe house…but I thought this was your safe house."
The video interrupted his thought, "Go to my parents room Alfred…"
He was awestruck; Bruce never wanted to talk about his parent's room. "Why now?" He wondered.
He walks towards their room; it's just the same as 8 years ago. Nothing has been changed, the bed, the cupboards, the drapes, the giant picture frame of the Wayne family remain the same since that day. Alfred would come and clean the room often, but Bruce specifically asked not to change anything. Alfred always thought sadly that Bruce didn't want to let go of their memory, so he naturally obliged.
"Walk towards the picture and stand exactly opposite of it."
Alfred does just that.
"Now stomp your left foot three times, two of them, one after another, and the third after a 5 second pause. Get your watch out, you need to be precise Alfred or it won't work."
Taking his pocket watch out, he follows Bruce's direction perfectly…and suddenly sees the picture split in two…revealing an elevator.
Alfred just stared at it, wide eyed. For 30 years, he has been serving the Wayne family; he knows every corridor of the Manor. How did he not know about this?
"I made it Alfred, I didn't tell you, and I needed time alone…I was becoming…too angry…too hateful…too much rage, I needed to vent…and I found a place, a dark place fitting for my rage to dwell at. Go inside Alfred, it is time you see it too."
Alfred was bewildered by the words he had heard, he didn't know Bruce was suffering this much, he hid it too well. Alfred felt ashamed that he couldn't help his young master, but no more.
Alfred tightens his fist, and makes a vow, "I will always be there for you master Bruce, no matter what, I will always be there."
With firm resolution he stepped inside. There were only two buttons in the elevator. Arrows point up and down. He pressed on down and the wall in front of him closed, and then he felt the elevator moving down. In about 30 seconds the elevator came to a halt. The wall opened, and Alfred slowly walked out. He saw a dark tunnel leading down, with stairs. The only thing that gave any visibility was the lights Bruce probably put there.
Bruce's voice got darker, "Keep going Alfred, its time you see my darkness…"
Alfred visibly concerned still kept walking till he reached an opening. It was pitch black, but as soon as he stepped inside. Lights turned on everywhere and Alfred's eyes widened.
"My God…"
The only thing that broke the silence was screeching sounds that started getting louder.
